1:42- Be aware that the higher the altitude, it's not just the oxygen that's thinner but also the ozone layer! Hence, despite the cooler temperatures, you WILL get more UV rays than at sea level . Also, water boils at a lower temperature so it takes slightly longer to cook foods (and one may need to consult cook books with 'high altitude' modifications re ingredients). Regardless, it looks like quite a breathtaking part of the world and I appreciate you all sharing it with us!
Don't you love Telluride? Such a beautiful area. That blue and white flower is a Columbine and they come in many colors, but that blue Columbine is the CO State Flower. They are my absolute favorite flowers! You deserve major credit for doing a steep hike at that altitude and not being acclimated. It's tough!
That’s a lovely place. That hike is amazing. Those houses are so cute. And those flies are great. Not only for trout but for smallmouth bass when you get back to Arkansas.
I'm going to Colorado next week!! My very 1st time!! We are staying just south of Boulder. I've been waiting for this trip since September (~);}. Stay safe and thanks for sharing a bit of you life with us!! You do bring smiles to our faces!!
@@sandradummer4726 We are going to Dead and Company for 3 shows. We have a few extra days to do whatever Colorado has to offer. I've been waiting for this trip since September.
I used to ski every Christmas in Telluride. Absolutely stunning in the winter. I’ve never hiked Bridal Veil Falls but I did the 4x4 trail. Beautiful but scary.
Watching you … ummm … fish, Cody, gave me the laugh I need. It’s mad cap fishing at its best, unless you were to film ME fishing. Me fishing is just a ridiculous sight and one that has made many a person laugh til they cry. Thank you for sharing your experience/ for being vulnerable enough to do so. I needed that. 😂🤣😁
So jealous! Telluride and that whole wilderness area is so amazing! And what an amazing camping spot - wouldn’t want to leave! Hope you took the gondola up the mountain- its free and offers great views.
Hey, I'm back.....did you notice that guy had sandles on hiking? I've been wanting to express to you both just how wonderful it is that you never say "ah" or those other non word expressions when you talk. I just love to listen you either one of you talk....I'm so,so proud of you....the first thing I do is turn off the video when a person has to speak like that✨
Man I wanna go out west soooo bad. Not even for the views but my favorite thing about the west is the westward discovery and all the mountain men that lived out there. I just wanna see what some of my inspirations saw 😂
No wonder you have chosen this life style. The places you visit are amazing. The photography & drone videos are stunning. You show us places we can only dream off visiting. Thank you so much. Cheers Lynne Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🐨👍🏻❤️💜
Love Telluride! The scenery and Bridal Falls is AMAZING! I went through there one summer 20 years ago and it was great seeing it hasn't changed much at all! Thanks for bringing us along!
Colorado is great. I just watched this vlog from 11 thousand feet. As I am currently camping at animas forks ghosts town just outside Silverton. I hope you enjoy your trip and hope Cody catches lots of fish.
Um, I don’t think there could a better campsite than the one in the open. Amazing. Even though it was close to the road. Still just amazing. Or… It could be the filming skills of up town high rent!
Cordy and Kelly going on a hike bring water and snacks and Cordy where are the dome life T shirts and the next hike in Colorado bring an oxygen tank you you don't pass out LOL take care happy camping
Love Colorado. The mountains are amazing and the towns are charming. So much history there. You should see the mountains in the fall. That’s why it’s called Colorful Colorado.
Good morning! What a great video to get my day started! So nice to see running water. That was a really nice campsite even though it was right off the road and u got it back for another nite! Hope the water didn't rise more during the nite! Gosh! In the 30s overnite sounds nice to this south Tx girl! Makes me want to jump in the car and head north! Beautiful hike and waterfalls. Cody, I know you like to talk and narrate the videos but I kept thinking poor you, just enjoy your hike! Working too hard! Elevation change, holding the camera, walking and talking! No wonder u were breathless when u got back to the truck! I was breathless from the beautiful scenery! Thanks for the tag-along! Nice job! Safe travels till next time🌞✌️
As usual, beautiful videography! We’re counting down the days until we’re up in that area! Do you ever use a hydration pack? We drink so much water when we hike. The water bottles are never enough, especially when hiking higher elevations. Continued safe travels ❤
I am in Colorado too! Hey I have a question. I loved when you guys tent camped and all the great meals you cooked. I hope you start doing some more outdoor cooking. Love following you guys.
Beautiful, love living vicariously through your adventures!! I live at about 3500 ft, and when family and friends come to visit, it takes them a bit to acclimate. You kids are doing great!
I love Telluride so much. Those views. Thanks so much for showing that hike. We went down there to see the falls but didn't do the hike - we're old. Have y'all done the Ouray loop hike? There's a free gondola ride in Telluride - fun. Also a nice hike at the other end of town from the falls... not as epic as what you did but you can usually see elk grazing in a meadow. I don't know about you but I do better when I have more protein with breakfast when I'm going on a hike... and stick a cheese stick in my pocket for later. Stellar video!
I just spent two weeks in Colorado visiting my daughter (I'm in NY). It is absolutely the most beautiful state ever!! I've been to visit her four times since she moved there a few years ago and although I've been to many amazing places I have yet to visit Telluride - It's definitely on my list it looks absolutely stunning!! Thank you so much for sharing your travels with us. I love your channel 😍😍 (PS - you should definitely visit the beautiful Maroon Bells in Aspen while you're there! Absolutely gorgeous!!)
WOW! i see what I have to look forward to in two weeks, with trout lake, bridal veil falls and bear creek trail on my spots to go. plus, lots of exploring. awesome video.
San Juans (Saint Johns) the crown jewel of Colorado, I camped at over 10,000' last night and about froze, the mountains need a couple more weeks or so to thaw out, God bless y'all.
Gingko Biloba helps with adjusting to the elevation. I learned that trick from a Dr in Colorado years ago and it works. It's best to start taking it before you go. First time I went to Colorado my hands, feet, and face started to swell. I felt weird. Next trip I did the Gingko and had no symptoms. Use it now whenever I'm going to the mountains.
I remember trying to take gym class when we moved from upstate NY to Colorado springs!! I was like 10 and I got winded and dizzy Bam!! Beware of the altitude!!
I've done my share of fly fishing. Some in Colorado. Near Golden (where Coors is). Arkansas River used to be good near Pueblo. Durango, Animas River. But I think it's almost impossible to fish those raging spring thaw runoffs. Fall is best. Less water (and clearer) - more fish. Check out that headwaters of the Arkansas River below the dam near Pueblo. There's a state park and campground on the reservoir.Amazing to think that river goes all the way to Arkansas and the Mississippi then on to the Gulf
That offroad trail is Black Bear Pass. It is extremely difficult. It shouldn't be recommended to anyone without a lot of experience. There are RUclips videos of Jeeps rolling off of it.
Love it out west....Colorado is so beautiful! Just love your drone views....You could make another channel with just drone scenery and relaxing music........The negative ions off that waterfall were just amazing! Be Blessed!
@@CodyandKellie - I did not know that, well, SMH...and I do look at your links.....how did I miss that? Must have been the coffee link that took my attention....lol. subscribed! Thank and have a wonderful day!
I live at high elevation. For more energy, you need fat and protein. Your breakfast was carbs and sugar. Bananas have a lot of sugar and the hazelnut spread probably does too. just a suggestion .. I love the scenery and content and style of your videos.
Wow, you two! That was a spectacular video! Reminds me of Yosemite! Our family camped there many times when I was a kid! Thank you, and enjoy the area…..
Nope, carving on Aspens does not harm them. How do I know this you might ask?? Several years ago I was on a mountain north of Chama NM there were small. Meadows interspersed in the Aspen groves and around the edges of some of the meadows were carvings on Aspen trees made by the Basque sheep herders from Spain with the man’s name and date. Some of these carvings were as far back as the 1930s and the trees were still alive and healthy. And it wasn’t just a one off carving, I found dozens and dozens dated up through the 1950s. Some species of trees might be harmed but not Aspen trees. It was surreal to say the least to see those names and dates. I’ll be headed back to Colorado from Florida in September so save me some snow. Lol. Unless they’ve changed it you could drive up to the falls and go back down to town. The one way restriction was you couldn’t go up from the falls, you could only come down the mountain from black bear pass
I love watching you guys next year I will be hitting the road and living the rv life so watching you guys gives me more motive to go… I also love watching Kelly cook.. my question is how does the fishing license go can you do it nation wide??
