I just started watching Tutorials a few hours ago after installing Inkscape Started as a hater, but now I'm kinda enjoying this. It seems more advance than Adobe Anime, for drawing purposes. Im having problems with the grouped paths. When it's grouped inkscape doesn't count it as a path. The extrude and union isn't working like how yours does.
Hey Nick. First of all thank you for all your tutorials. They have helped me to learn using Inkscape to a great extent in less than a year. I just wanted to ask about making that background. On my independent work I was making a logo and wanted to put the bigger size of the logo with a lesser opacity on the background like you did here. Can you teach how to do that cuz path -> difference is not an option there...
What is your page size for the document? On your screen it just looks like a blank page, but when I start a new document it's basically A4 letter size with borders and I never see that on your screen.

Rob, to get a totally white canvas, go to File>Document Properties, then uncheck the box for "Show Page Border". Hope it helps
