This is a great scene because they are alone in the dark with no one watching and judging, so they are both able to speak and act more freely. Nathan was so pleased to be able to do something for Elizabeth and show his feelings❤️

Anytime these two are together there are either banters, sparks, stares, fusses and fun! I’m sure there are more! Before she started pushing him away, the had fun and funny scenes together! When he brought her the apple and he told her that the evidence would be gone when she ate it was really funny! The icing, the Christmas tree hunt and all the times he tried to ask her out and she knew it!! Their interactions are so real and down to earth!💕❤️

Nathan's statement about her being headstrong is totally true. She was the same way with Jack.

I love the way Nathan smiled and said "which part exactly"? omg could I please meet a guy that charming ... sigh ... he is really a charmer ... and then he said "Not yet" ooooooohhhh could that have been more laden with meaning?? Elizzzzzzzzzabeth, stop torturing both you and Nathan and just admit you love him!

No Man can honestly say that he really knows whats on a females mind nor what's inside of her heart , but if he waits and watched watches and listens , maybe he will sense something different , see something different, or sense something different about her and it might give him some idea of what's going on with her ! From early on when she first saw him in town , she being friendly and curious ventured over to the Jail and introduced herself ! They became more friendly and when she met the saloon owner he wanted to be more than friends from the start ! It's a tv show that digressed from.a wholesome small town with quaint settings and some wonderful characters but this is the first time since Billy Hamilton has they played with something like this ! This guy started out as something that made fans be reminded of both Billy and her home town friend Charles., but he's a gambler.who purchased the saloon ! To than other fans that means nothing , but in 1910 in western Canada , that would have been unheard of but this is Hallmark ! The question is why were they so insistent on bringing a character like that To the Hope Valley town community ! Lee is a wonderful.man , a loving husband to Rosemary and he doesn't carry any elements of suspicion.or mystery of a past ! And why is that? Why has he and Elizabeth had any heated disagreements.? The team Gambler fans have only seen an illusion , a perfect made facade , instead of seeing how they would react when having a heated moment ! He tends to walk away from confrontation every time , and maybe it's his up bringing or his past experiences ! A bubble gum manufactured. Love will " pop " one day and it will leave emotional scars ! If anyone cannot see that love in 1910 was hard , simple , complex because of the times , but the small gestures like bringing someone flowers , an Apple , making a small wooden plaque with a profound inscription, putting a blanket around her shoulders to make her warm , to walk and have wonder ful conversations , to play while having wonderful time trimming and decorating the Christmas tree , and etc and none of it was manufactured ! True love will lose in the end this time because they will have her choose a Gambler !

I loved this analysis. Even when Elizabeth is too pig headed to admit she is cold, Nathan knows better. She was like this with Jack, too. The only time Elizabeth is herself this season is when she lets her guard down, and that only happens briefly when she is with Nathan. They have to get together. Thank you for this.
Her stubborness is what makes her a great teacher! She has grit and she doesn't give up on her students or friends. She just needs a Nathan to help her discern when it's helping her vs when it's holding her back!
the way she says "very funny" it was the exact way she would have said it to jack! just imagine jack in the scene and its the same way she would have said it!
I thought of a scene! I would like to request the scene where he said "I just want you to be safe because you matter to me." Pretty sure it was last season, the episode when Elizabeth and the kids go up the mountain and they got caught in that wind storm. Love that scene!

I felt more of a deeper connection with this conversation between Nathan and Elizabeth. I feel like she definitely tries to push Nathan away because she definitely feels it. It scares her to feel that deeply for Nathan, that's why she is trying to force something with Lucas... He is safer, she doesn't feel as much risk with Lucas... That's just my 2 cents worth...

After watching this scene I realized just how deep the conversations have been between Nathan and Elizabeth. They have talked about love, family, friendship and loss among other things. On the other hand, her conversations with Lucas were not nearly as deep. I think she was so afraid of her feelings for Nathan and the possibility she could lose him that she chose Lucas to be safe and protect her heart. One day soon I think she will realize this but then it will be too late. Very sad

So many great things to say about this beautiful scene and your wonderful analysis! One small moment I adore is when Nathan leans in playfully after sitting down at 3:00 and stares at Elizabeth for a moment with a playful smile just waiting for her to speak and after she admits she appreciates his gesture, they both laugh and have cute smiles on their faces! 😍❤ The idea that E isn't comfortable around N is crazy to me b/c they're both comfortable with each other to the point where they are vulnerable and share personal things about themselves. That's why I've always liked them together. Also if E is uncomfortable it's b/c she scared of caring about N deeply. If they do get together, the playful stuff will be super cute after all the tension between them this season. I can't wait!
Seriously my favorite moment of this scene! Also when he smiles while getting the blanket- I melted. I agree, the fear or concern on her face is almost never about Nathan - it’s always about her feelings for Nathan
They definately opened up to each other.There so much chemistry between these two.Nathan is waiting patiently not denying his feeling & getting the blanket shows his affection by getting the blanket & placing it over her shoulders.Elizabeth is in denial about her feelings but it has to be Nathan.I hope so

I absolutely love this scene! I love how he shows her that he can be playful with her and be light and easy, not just expressing his feelings toward her. Not that I don't love those kinds of moments just as much as the rest of us, but the little scenes like this really gets her to truly know him. It shows her that he trusts her so that he can be open and vulnerable about personal things. That is a huge deal, especially for Nathan! I love how he still puts the blanket around her even though she protested. I love the GIF you showed. Made me giggle!

I can’t help but think and hope she chooses Nathan. It will come down to the relationship with little Jack, between Nathan and Lucas. With Lucas, it’s all about Elizabeth. Lucas doesn’t ignore the fact she has him, but doesn’t include him either. Nathan, shows he can be a lover and father at the same time. She knows it, we know it.
He’s really doubling down on the romance- didn’t expect that
With each episode, I see a more active Nathan and this is very good.

If they don't get together then Hallmark just wasted a perfectly good season. They are so drawn to each other and no one speaks to Elizabeth's soul like Nathan, no one except Jack.

I just don't understand how she can be so cruel to this man. She has been treating him like something nasty stuck to the bottom of her shoes. She has been treating him like this before she found out about Fort Clay.
@@enojelmeli This is such a wonderful show with a very beautiful theme and to ruin it by having her treat someone that truly loves her unconditionally , she does not reciprocate the feeling accept in her heart , but when it comes to a surface infatuation she ran and clinged to the charm , the flattery and the illusion of happiness with the gambler ! We have never seen any heart to heart with them as with her and Nathan , it's always on a romantic thing , things of advice but never heart to heart ! Nathan does question her like he does and he hasn't shown as.much insecurity issues as the gambler either ! Elizabeth seems to have wrestled in her mind that " I can't risk going through that all.over again ( another Mountie dying ) so she has embraced a safety blanket as If that is true love ! Rosemary and Nathan has allowed her to treat them unkind and speak to them.very harsh . which is out of her character , because they know that she isn't herself and that they are allowing her. to deal with her emotional issues even if it's mistreating them ! Elizabeth is naturally confused , her mind about to explode but.....the essence of true love cannot be denied , it cannot be forced nor manufactured either , ....it will manifest from within the heart and soul , to the light of day , and that no human being can truly walk or run away ! Hallmark blew a golden opportunity by risking this charade for ratings galore , but come next season, of there will be. another , after they have her pick a gambler , those type of ratings might come no more ! Why did you ruin a beautiful show ? You cannot the expect the fans to collectively remain loyal anymore , maybe its collateral damage , maybe !

Let's get over the fact Lucas isn't father material and doubtful he is honest. Nathan is so sweet and interacts with all the important elements make for a great husband and father. He is has professed professed his love for Elizabeth!!!

This scene was intense.
And I didn't realize how intense until I looked at it again...like, yes I got the whole "Not yet" thing. But him being playful before and her slowly coming out of her shell! WOW
I actually did not start watching WCTH diligently until season 5, and immediately fell in love with the show. After watching some of your analysis of scenes, especially one a week or two ago that showed Jack and the miner who had come to town, I decided to purchase the first 4 seasons and I love this show so much more!! I love the strength of all the women on this show. But I did notice that there is a playfulness, feistiness, to the relationship she had with Jack and Nathan. Her relationship with Lucas is much more superficial.

I love this scene because it really shows what a deep connection they have and how they're able to share such close things with each other - and Lucas and Elizabeth's conversations aren't as deep or personal.

I love this scene and your analysis of it. Elizabeth really did not.want Nathan to come over to her because then she actually has to deal with her emotions. She tries to push him.away but there are too many tender moments with him that keep showing up. Season 8 has just worn me out! And I suspect, many other hearties. But you make it more tolerable by doing an analysis on the various scenes and by submitting great videos and sharing your thoughts with us. Thank you! Team Nathan to the end!!!

another great moment you were able to break down. These two have such a deep connection. They are drawn to one another and while this season has been an uphill fight for Nathan, I have enjoyed watching him open up and share more about himself. at the end i was wondering if there was a bit of a guilt when Elizabeth realized she let her guard down with Nathan and let him into her heart a bit. That she was being more open and real with Nathan when she is dating Lucas....

I would love to see all the scenes where Elizabeth is with Lucas or his mom, but looking for/at Nathan vs with Nathan/Allie and looking for/at Lucas. I feel like it’s pretty one sided looking for Nathan, but it would be interesting to compare.
True that’s tough to collect scenes too cause it’s such small moments - on Instagram it has been established that Lucas is more often than Nate outside looking in I think. And that e&l talk mainly about Nathan.

As much as I love Nathan I just don't see a triangle. Maybe seasons 6 and 7 but this season it has been all saint Lucas. Even in the other 2 seasons although she was stalking Nathan she only had dinner with Lucas, including the overnight trip. At the end of season 7 right before Nathan and Bill left with the other Mountie to escort that prisoner Nathan asked her to have dinner with him and she froze up and didn't say a darn thing.

I liked Nathan from day one sweet handsome Mountie he’ deserves a woman who wouldn’t be constantly remind her Elizabeth passed love and IMO that’s exactly what could have happened if she’s chosen him I want a new woman with fire completely different from what Nathan thought he wanted maybe a Tom boy who fall head over his for and I believe that will bring out a change in Nathan to he more assertive and upfront about his feelings no guilt associated I hope the writers go in that direction in S 9 because KM is a super talented guy I can wait # hearties ❤️

I think the reason he left is that he felt her discomfort and rather than taking advantage of her promise to Florence to stay outside the infirmary he does the gentlemanly thing and leaves her alone to process things .

@@thelittlescenes1185 i don't see it as annoyance at Elizabeth i see it as self annoyance he could be thinking resentfully about how she is running for comfort again as it was the exact same look he gave when he said to carson "or people your comfortable with" maybe he feels annoyed that he can't seem to say the right thing to make her comfortable around him
but yes I do agree there was some annoyance or disappointment there after all it is a reaccuring thing and I think he would like her to just not go into flight mode for once

Infelizmente, não sei para que essas coisas entre os dois, na minha opinião ambos fazem um par perfeito, mais ela vai ficar com o Lucas, acredito que é a opinião da maioria do público, e os diretores já decidiram, eu gostaria de está enganada, que mim surpreenda com essa decisão, de ambos ficarem juntos e não com o Lucas, acredito que existe uma boa quantidade de pessoas que torcem também para eles ficarem juntos, e por saber que isso não vai acontecer, evito assistir.
