Flashback when you were dicking around with the points..... lol. I worked on my Ford 860, in the field, for over a week, until I finally replaced the "new" condenser. Yep, it was bad... Got it running, drove it to the barn... and upgraded to Electronic Ignition. Best trade-up ever. I get it: farming with antiques. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve had brand new points and condensers be bad right out of the box before too. That’s frustrating. 😒. The protronix HEI kits are pretty hard to beat!
Man you’re great I drive a truck and have been through Kansas Nebraska Oklahoma Missouri Iowa all the rest no telling how many of these I’ve seen sitting and I’ve heard the it ran when we parked it crap before but my family has a dairy farm stocker cows quarter horses ect and we never parked anything running it got sold what a sense of accomplishment
Man you are so right there about a good parts counter person nowadays if it is another computer in front of them they don't know their ass from a hole in the ground meat comes from or anything actually he'll tell you Walmart thank God I don't have kids the way this world is going
This series of JD combines couldn't be beat for simplicity and reliability. You can still get a lot of parts for them. I've spent many hours on 95s over the years. The old engine has the familiar sound like a 95.
I know this is an old video but you surprised me again. Most people would have written that old girl off. Kudos for your persistence. I missed the sound a gas JD makes.
Like your humour. The getting something running that hasnt ran in a long time and left for dead.i understand the feeling.the self pride of makeing something run again.i do the same thing with snowmobiles and qauds and vechiles
I remember those old JD combine also my dad & uncle farm had 1968 105C McCormick International combine had Farmall H Basic 4 cylinder 202 Cubic Cm motor and carb was on front face of the motor had hand choke to and was challenged to get going to motor start up! Turn key on get electronic pump click away till only hear one click every 3 mins and next what had do next pull choke all way out and low speed then roll over 4 time push choke in 1/2 in get fire up & then when fire push choke 1/4 out for 5 minutes then push choke in all way let warm for 25 minutes to more! But we used 89 octane gas not farm gas add bottle fuel injection cleaner in plus last 2 gallon of gas left tank full put some desiel fuel to mix with gas fuel plus injection cleaner to! Cleaner out carb plus motor also help start up faster too on cold storage times or season each day plus hot starts to ! Yes smoked bit but help and keep engine running perfectly too also engine oil too ! Fuel tank was only 60 gallon steal tank too & 10w30 no synthetic engine oil plus fram or John Deere oil pan filter cartilage type ! It one in round pot like old farm tractor plus trucks or cars or vans used in in 4 or 6 cylinders from 1940 to 1972 years!
"Ps... Engine is "Chrysler Slant " 6 Engiene" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ps.. We had a 55 Corn Special !!!!!!!!!!!!! "Ps Yes It's the "Deere Engine" !!!
I have a 3 row corn head, but there isn’t much left to it. The bean head went with the other 55 I had when she got sold. I may try to retrofit that onto a JD tractor in the future 😉
Omg I can’t beelive you just killed them bees what’s wrong with you ? Those are part of our ecosystem we need them to make the world go around this is unbeelievable

Maybe you could restore it. 😊

My dad had a couple 55’s years ago. Nice combine in their day!
I was glad to hear yours run! Enjoyed not only your video but also your humor.

Always fun to tinker with

My first farming accident was on a JD 45 combine at age of 4. Nothing 180 plus stitches & about a month in hospital couldn't fix. Nice video!
yikes! glad you were ok ish!😬
thank you!
Thanks for sharing, enjoyed! Had a 55 long ago. Motor ran clean .
Hermoso motor diesel 6 cilindros ... 😅😅😅
You need to bring fluffy with you 😹
Hi 👋 JT another amazing video friend thank you once again from Scotland
Pretty cool watching this! I just sold my 55EB a couple weeks ago.
thanks Dana. I wondered if you still had yours
"Ps Love Fluffy" !!!
Here here on the good parts guy sentiment. They are few and far between these days. I’m catching up on all your old Vedic’s.
Right on! Thank you!
Excellent video to also and hope see more too!
Thank you! Will do!
Don't wait to long to do another one
Ya ain't skeeered of a little ol hornets nest are ya? Well I am and I'd run like a rabbit with my tail on fire
Just saw your channel, love it
Love the starting of old engines like this. Great upload sir.
Thanks! Always a sense on accomplishment to hear one of these old turds run again!
That's the newest jd55 I've ever seen. I've never seen a square back with v-belt separator drive.
That was one of the last ones being a 69
The command center🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

"Spike 55" Edible bean combine" !!!
I was wondering where Fluffy was and she showed up at the end.
I have 2 at my farm. One is an International and the other one is just a gray one, idk what the gray ones production is but it’s gray!
Gleaner maybe
That would be perfect machine to turn into a snow blower.
that has crossed my mind 😉
"Nice Channel" Ps "Let's me LOL" !!! "on Daily Farm Events" "Ps..."Sweet Fluffy" !!!
I can almost smell the fuel
So when are you going to see if it will operate?
Have you ever been to a combine demolition derby.
I was the thousandth like on this video YAY🎉
Nice! 😊
YESS! Now what will you do with that engine?
Combine demo derby!
"Ps... Engine is "Chrysler Slant " 6 Engiene" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ps.. We had a 55 Corn Special !!!!!!!!!!!!! "Ps Yes It's the "Deere Engine" !!!
U would never drop a carb screw in the field lol
Curious how did you start it from the back? I have a Ford 611 combine I need to be able to do that too.
I had a trigger hooked to the starter, and a hot wire on the coil. Mice attacked all the original wiring
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 genius. You should do a video of how you wired that up! I’d love to see it.
Which engine 340 or 362
That has a 303 actually.
Loved it! Will you put it to a day's work? do you still have the header? Will you use the motor for a JD tractor? :)

You should restore it

yellow jackets... not bees. I’ll take honey bees anytime.
It was a joke merry Christmas
Might have killed the battery beat n on it
