Since this map has so many islands you should name it Hawatea like Hawaii but with tea. For the parking spots in the pedestrian shopping area down the center you could try and set up a theme that just does not have buildings in it that come with parking.
City (or district) name ideas: Equi-tea Springs, Clari-tea Creek, Fort Liber-tea, Seven-tea Acres, Nobili-tea Ridge, Trini-tea Rivers (with or without the hyphens, at your discretion, of course!)
My plan. I'm going to watch the new city, while still bingeing New Tealand. Once I finish New Tealand this city might be finished and I can binge and rewatch this new city but back to back. 🤣

As addicted I am to watching these build a city series so is my cat surprisingly! He loves sitting in front of the TV and chase all the cars 🤣 Can't wait for more!
100% agree. Just keep it real. In real life we can't just level mountains to make way for a city. We have to work around the environment as much as possible.
It would be cool if you had to invest in education first, develop an engineering industry which you then hire for landscaping projects. You can then level a mountain but its costs enormous money and investing in the project would affect the overall economy, inflation and peoples opinion. Just flattening a mountain in 2 minutes then plop houses with no city reaction takes all the spirit out of the gameplay.
Hi Biffa :) The trouble you've got with not enough water in the pipe when you have plenty of water ability, it could be that you've got another source of water on the map, so it counts into your water ability (like people working at a harbor you haven't build). Anyway, great map and great new start of a city !
Already liking the way this new city is turning out ❤ For the parking spaces in the pedestrian zone, you could build a 1u service road at the back of the buildings to make them fit in. This may not be Blightea, but that’s quite common in the UK. Then the rest of the space behind the commercial buildings can be used for more residential zoning or decorated green space
I think the eco-zoning is causing the abundance of car parks. Perhaps there’s an alternative zoning specialty we could use for this area to get the vibes we’re looking for?
@@andrewhill7073 Honestly we just need to let the asset builders spin for a little while and do their thing. A lot of late Victorian/Edwardian commercial buildings would absolutely do well in Pedestrian zones, and those dual-use contraptions Biffa showed a few weeks ago, as well as some new low-density commercial assets built specifically for Ped-zones.
I'm a bit surprised that you already go for a new project, but I'm not complaining And I really like the ideas you already bring to the table with this one way system in and out of the city I really hope this new city will become just as pretty as New Tealand
May be off base here but I haven’t felt the love for the other two in months that was in every episode of new tealand. I’ve gotten halfway through builds only to start new cities many times, nothing wrong with it.
Because the Map reminds you of New Tealand, I‘d like to suggest *Sulateasi* or *Sulawetea* as a name for your City. Irl Sulawesi is one of the big Indonesian Islands btw. The Island is also called Celebes sometimes, wich would be *Tealebes* or *Ceteabes* if you include a tea pun.
Biffa, loving the new series. It would be a massive help if you could put the series name and number of the episode in the title to help us that want to watch these in order in the future. Keep up the great work.
I know this video is about a month old by now but hello again biffa I've been away from watching Cities skyline content on RUclips some time. I felt burned out on this game. Despite this i continued to be a member and now i am excited to follow this new series
Looks great so far!! One suggestion about the commercial in your pedestrian area: If you want ones with less parking lots, try the *Wall-To-Wall* specialization. You can't apply it to a pedestrian area though, so you have to make a district over the pedestrian area, and then apply it to that. The closer buildings might fill out the space too and give a denser look (if you want that). Excited to see more, love the direction you're taking and the goals you have! Thinking about buses or trams yet? :D
I don't know about a city name but the entire region could be called "The Aegis Archipelago". This comes from a few things. "Aegis" means "to support something" and we support Biffa and the builders of the map. The map creators first letters make up AEGIS and aRchipelago" Alleycat, E6gsy, GeekGirl (I tried to use the Q but couldn't), Ingenium and Snakus. The R in "Archipelago" is for random5 and an archipelago is a group if islands which this map has. I know it's not perfect but something to consider.
I wish you would unlock all the tiles from the get-go for once, instead of following the vanilla progression. I think the vanilla way of doing it constrains you to building everything right next to each other, while unlocking all the tiles would allow you to have little hamlets and parks all over the map - making everything more interesting and unique. Excited for the new series either way.
I like the idea of naming the city Morgantown after our first resident Faith Morgan. Especially since I'm sure "why is it called Morgantown?" will be less and less obvious as the series goes on.
I came to suggest Morganville for same reason 😊, If someone would be filling to forego a tea-name.. and then I found that there’s a company called Morgan’s brew tea…. So I think our suggestions are back in😅. Whaddaya think, Biffa
Gorgeous map! How about 'Teavanger' like the Norwegian Stavanger or Teasund /Teasound (similar to the geographic term Sound?) I think that would suit the map
There's a cute little California beach town called Carmel-by-the-Sea... so I was thinking for our new city, Caramel-by-the-Tea. Might be a little on the nose, but I think it's cute!
Yay!! A new start, love your attention to detail and planning instead of just building as fast as you can. Couple of points: industry and water pollution and at 31 mins the area should be Morgan after your founding resident not Moore which the game named it? What a beautiful map, naming wise something like Beau-Tea ville archipelago to reflect the work put in by the designers and your love of tea!! Really looking forward to this series, thank you for all your hard work on these videos.
Just started playing this game a few weeks ago, and quickly learned Biffa was one of the best. Thanks for talking things out as you do them, like "frontage" roads. Learned something new today! And good god, this map is beautiful.
A while back I reached out to you and asked for more how-tos...... I won't take credit for these recent vids that have done just that but I very much appreciate them. One of the amazing things about your cities is your detailing, and detailing can only be done if one knows enough of the mechanics to build a city where all your time isn't spent putting out proverbial fires.
Thank you Biffa. Now I know why my industry never works like it does for the RUclips pros - Rebalanced Industries mod. Needed that one. Probably why I stay subscribed to Biffa he actually provides the full list of mods he is using, corrects mistakes in the video and doesn't make you feel dumb.
Biffa, I'm new to City Skylines and found you when surfing RUclips for helpful tutorials. I've immensely enjoyed watching several of your fixes vids but looking forward to this series. I've been watching more than playing but I'm learning so much along the way. Thank you for your heart as a teacher!
I wonder if there's any way to take some of the car parks that're spawning up (not all of them of course) and turn them into custom pedestrian areas. Like if two of them are together have food carts/food stands on one and benches for eating on the other, making it a designated outdoor food court.
The map kina reminds me of Seattle, so how about naming it Teattle? Also, I've seen areas that have been repurposed from car to pedestrian and business simply put outdoor seating where the parking spots were. I think it would give it a cool vibe if you could put picnic tables or some other seating in the parking spots and leave the parking stripes there.
I'm excited to watch a new series! For The pedestrian only areas I live near a University where a lot of the roads are pedestrian only. There are a surprising amount of service and utility vehicles that need parking, so having that parking there isn't necessarily uncommon at all.
Hi Biffa. Just to say I am really looking forward to watching you create this new city. I really hope this can be an encapsulating series that brings together everything that cities skylines has to offer, as well as the steam workshop, combined with your excellent presentation and charm. Can't wait to see the city grow 👍☕
Thank you. Yesterday I was thinking "Biffa really needs a new city." And here it is! Really like the map. My city name recommendation is The Steeping Isles. I think it works on a number of levels, and it's a bit different in regards to the naming pun. Cheers!
Looking forward to the new series! I'd like to see you one day upgrade the Main one-way roads to something else. I feel like they need the be a "feature" so should be more interesting looking!
i cannot express how perfect the timing is of this series!!! been watching for years, but just recently bought the game & started playing on my own. i'm so excited for this new city!!!
I always play with no pipes/powerlines. Just make work for early in the game. I never felt it offered much. I'll be interested in seeing how you handle the terrain. I have always struggled with maps that have irregular terrain. Since you are playing with 81 tiles, I hope you will be moving the build around the map rather than a continuous build from the start square. Your English build has been fun, Teattle never really sang to me. But that might be my preference for coastal builds.
Biffa, there is a planning road that has a minimal cost. It has a limited speed, but while your drawing out your plans it may help you save a little $$$ at start Also the water issue around minute 23ish, is because of the budget. the water can not travel as far, when budget is reduced.
A suggestion for the City name or maybe a district name I put forth the following: Bergamot Hills. It’s the herb that makes Earl Grey Tea taste so good
I would love to see you play with the superior features of 81 Tiles 2 to ignore the need for pipes and power lines. It is of course more realistic to place these items, but it is a waste of precious time+money when you could instead be focused on building much more beautiful, functional, exciting, and entertaining elements throughout your city! Thank you for providing daily entertainment to myself, my husband, and my cat. We look forward to watching your videos, new and old, every single day after our long days at work. You improve my mental health and inspire me to push myself out of my comfort zone, so I am endlessly grateful for that. Thanks again from all of us!
I'd love to see a larger city project like this eventually take on smaller areas or towns with all these various country or culture themes :) So maybe something like an Australian mid-sized town offshoot, a small Norwegian fishing village by the sea, a Dutch styled block or two, etc. all in one project.
I haven't played C:S in three years, but decided to queue up a Biffa vid, watched this, and subbed to this map and jumped back in. Lots of changes since I was last in the game! Excited to get going!
I've come a long way as a builder from watching you builders & lots of trying stuff out. Lately, been building regions starting with fishing & rail villages, then branching out in different pockets.
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines if you look at your video: Cities Skylines - Real Time CITY EVENTS Traffic!! #21 Cities Skylines Mods (that is 4 years old) you see a comed of me that is also 4 years old
always love seeing a new city start as nothing is better than starting fresh with so many new possibilities. also, you should make the road in the centre of the pedestrian area a bus lane road and have 2 bus loops going to either side of the district meet up in the middle shopping area.
i've been trying to figure out the best way to blend the ped area in my cities and most of it feels weird. the way you set it up on here is great! it makes sense and doesn't seem out of place with the surrounding neighborhood!
You go get it Biffa show em what your made of. Love everything you do. Esp when I can watch new cities from the start. Wanted to say sorry about the loss of your HC friend.
Nice! Looking forward to the new series! I always find the beginning of a new city the most exciting part of a series. 1. Why did you want to abandon uk/usa and start a new series? 2. Are you interested in a vanilla+ series? meaning: (almost) no assets 3. Wouldn't it be a nice idea to post a quick video with all your mod settings at the start of a new series? i.E. visual mods, etc
Thanks :-) 1. I haven't 2. Not many extra assets in this one apart from the map 3. Not really, a lot of work when all the info you need is posted inthe steam collection or the xml I provide on my discord :-)
I think fewCandy had a video on B.O.B. and if you lower the probability to say 50% you can use MoveIt to reset the building until you get the desired. It is probably a bit nitpicky to do everytime but you could pick the most important spots and give it the Super BOB treatment :D Excited as always for the new Save!!
Unbelievable! A Biffa highway exit without a roundabout. Who'da thunk they'd ever see the day? Also unbelievable is the coincidence as I just started another city with a couplet for the very first time just 3 days ago with a 20 spacing and central street. Don't have the plazas DLC yet so it's a 4 lane road for commercial deliveries but the similarity is unreal. Looking forward to more.
In BOB at the top there is a button to only remove items from that asset only. I think it only removes it from that instance and not all of them on the map. I use that to remove parking from assets in my ped areas. Great city start! I always love watching!
Loving the start of the city! The water problem that you had was that you needed to high your economy on water bc you can see on the pipe that it is not blue, so it was a distans problem not a mod problem.
Thankyou Biffa for a new adventure. I have played this game since it came out, over 3000 hours, yet watching you gives me so many ohh and ahhs and of course can do that.. just awesome watching you build. So Thankyou so much for bringing so much joy!
Brilliant starter video. Unfortunately my PC is dead and until hubby fixes it I'm just going to have to watch. Then I need to fix my mods list as they were struggling to work even though I followed your advise using load order. Keep up the great work.
So happy to see a new build happening, especially on such a wonderful map, it kind of gives me Indonesia and Vietnam vibes. Love the videos Biffa, have done for the last 4 years.
You said New Tealand and I my eyes started sweating. Miss that series so much, but also looking forward to this. I got the map as well and it is simply gorgeous. Thanks Biffa! 💙
What a cool map! Genuinely really excited to see where this one goes. Would love to see some really nice nature preserve areas at some point down the line.
When it comes to naming things, I like what Seniac does. He takes the first person to arrive and basically makes them the city's 'Founder'. So something like the first city park will be named after the founder.
Cant wait to see this one develop, have missed the New Tealand vibes! Probably want to change the direction of the pedestrian service point road, to coincide with the couplet roads coming off the highway so the trucks aren’t crossing over each other, might cause traffic issues as you upgrade
Two Name Idea's: In honnor of Faith Morgan, she lived in the Myrtle Residance so the city could be named " MyrTEAle Beach". Second name idea, the map is sooo pretty and tropical, thought the city could be named "TEAijuana". Excited for the new series!!
An idea for the parking spaces in the pedestrian area: Some of those in our town were converted to places for food trucks and cart vendors to set up, with picnic tables, trash cans, etc., for the patrons. Perhaps you can plop down some of those trucks, carts, and other features to "convert" your own parking lots for similar purposes? Also, so car parks off the wide connector roads aren't a bad thing. Folks from other areas of the city can drop their cars there to walk about within the pedestrian zones. When mass transit becomes available, you can delete some of those to make space for your metro and other transit features.
That map really makes me want to start a new city! And you've finally done it - made your entire city a giant City-a-bout! As for a name - Beauteafulburg? Or if you want to stay within the water-theme, teashore (like seashore).
Biffa, you’re a favorite of mine. I’ve been mildly disappointed with Mississippitea, especially after New Tealand. I can already tell you’re back in top form with this city.
New map looks fan-flippin-tastic, Biffa! Looking forward to see how this further develops. Just hoping that whatever city this one replaces gets a proper finale episode 😊
Hi Biffa, What a nice treat the new city can't wait to see what your going to do with this one. i found out that the bridge is how it suppose to be. The Bolte Bridge is a large twin cantilever road bridge in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Hey biffa, you can turn off the garbage dump and when the workers leave you can use the collapse building option for a quicker way to replace dumps and cemeteries
Oo so excited for the new map! Playing with all the topography will be fun to watch! I love Tea-ster Islands suggestion from Felxi Hoffman the most hehe District name or general tea supply for the city for definitely be "Cuppaborinha > get a cuppa in ya!" lol
4:59 - this looks to be modelled on a bridge in Melbourne city (Australia) called Bolte Bridge - and it’s pronounced “Boltea” named after a former premier of the state of Victoria :)
Just started watching . Great start ! Though you have probably already named the City , because of you , I'm am going to start naming my cities after the first person to move in. On with the show !
Hi Biffa! Excited that I get a chance to throw my name into the hat for your next project. The map has a very Newfoundland feel in my opinion. With that in mind, The new city name of "Port-au-Chai" feels fitting, referencing your love of tea and the town Port-au-choix, Newfoundland. If youre looking for something to out right say Tea, how about "Têa-à-la-Biffa", a play on Tête-à-la-Baleine, or "La Taba-tea" for La Tabatière.
I can't imagine how massive the program would be but would love a single game where you can play it like Skylines to build the city, GTA to drive around in the city and The Sims to play individuals. Other than that fantasy dream game all I can say is: Hope a blimp sneaks in for tours ❤
I of course watched a few minutes later and want to provide you even more info! At 22:45 when you grab the road - you CAN make it work as you'd like :) Just drag the road as far as it can go without snapping to another road you don't want it to, let go, click very close to the edge dot but not on it, this will set a lock point on the road, then you can click and drag the endpoint again to continue the road as you wanted to do.....

It has a limited speed, but while your drawing out your plans it may help you save a little $$$ at start
Also the water issue around minute 23ish, is because of the budget. the water can not travel as far, when budget is reduced.
A suggestion for the City name or maybe a district name I put forth the following: Bergamot Hills. It’s the herb that makes Earl Grey Tea taste so good
I think we should name the city UncertainTea Atoll because the first resident was “confused” haha
Wow! A great start to Biffalo Countea! If this was planned in real life England, I think I will spend a vacation there!
My suggestion for the city name: Teattle. :)
Biffa For next city can you try your hand at an Australian themed City please I would love to see your take on it
Cause there are some amazing Aussie assets particularly in trains
Australia isn’t real
I'd love to see a larger city project like this eventually take on smaller areas or towns with all these various country or culture themes :) So maybe something like an Australian mid-sized town offshoot, a small Norwegian fishing village by the sea, a Dutch styled block or two, etc. all in one project.
@@Yoarashi ooo interesting so it would be like tasmania
I haven't played C:S in three years, but decided to queue up a Biffa vid, watched this, and subbed to this map and jumped back in. Lots of changes since I was last in the game! Excited to get going!
how about Cupparinha? in homage to the map makers. It is very beautiful.
Or since Biffa is more brittish than spanish/portugese, could do Cuppa'inya 😎
I've come a long way as a builder from watching you builders & lots of trying stuff out.
Lately, been building regions starting with fishing & rail villages, then branching out in different pockets.
pleace no tea or tea relatet city names
Lol, you've not been around here much have you ;-)
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines i have been heer all a long time and i want for owns see a city without a tea or tea relatet name
you could as well have asked Biffa to stop saying "Hugo there"...
Way cool! I can't believe that your playing on a map that I helped to make! Can't wait to see how this city comes along!
2. Are you interested in a vanilla+ series? meaning: (almost) no assets
3. Wouldn't it be a nice idea to post a quick video with all your mod settings at the start of a new series? i.E. visual mods, etc
Thanks :-)
1. I haven't
2. Not many extra assets in this one apart from the map
3. Not really, a lot of work when all the info you need is posted inthe steam collection or the xml I provide on my discord :-)
@@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylinesAwesome! Good to hear, I didn't know about that xml
I play on a ps4 but I love watching you play. I’ve just had an awful day at work and find watching you build a great way to relax. Thank you. 👍
I literally just started a city yesterday after years not playing. I was looking for guides but a lot are very old, this is perfect timing.
Glad I could help!
I'm getting restarted back in Cities: Skylines. Biffa is an entertaining and educational presence, and this seems like a good video to restart with.
In BOB at the top there is a button to only remove items from that asset only. I think it only removes it from that instance and not all of them on the map. I use that to remove parking from assets in my ped areas. Great city start! I always love watching!
Took me so long to get all these mods working!!! Worth it in the end having a blast playing it
Loving the start of the city! The water problem that you had was that you needed to high your economy on water bc you can see on the pipe that it is not blue, so it was a distans problem not a mod problem.
13:37 the hardest part of this game is not to forget to powerline the water treatment before you get to bankruptcy at the start. It gets me everytime.
I just picked up the game after a gap of like 2 years and here comes another excellent Biffa series to watch at the same time!
I love the nighttime shot at the end. I wish you'd do a night-only series (without mod/gameplay restrictions)
You just gotta love how the starting highway ramp just looks great, just like a solid bushy package right there 4:12 :D
Since the first resident was Faith Morgan, I think Fata Morgana might be interesting! Especially with some areas of open seas around the city.
Or to keep with the theme of Tea, Fatea Morgana.
New city build! Just made my Month, mate! Excited to see how it develops.
Biffa I love the new series and I think the name should be the Teaish Isles as it has a few islands spread out
When it comes to naming things, I like what Seniac does.
A new series to love! I'm suggesting either (Tea) Kettle Islands or The Teaspoon Islands
That map really makes me want to start a new city! And you've finally done it - made your entire city a giant City-a-bout!
As for a name - Beauteafulburg? Or if you want to stay within the water-theme, teashore (like seashore).
Cool start to the city. I'm excited to see the results of your new found passion for micro detailing.
Hi Biffa,
What a nice treat the new city can't wait to see what your going to do with this one.
i found out that the bridge is how it suppose to be.
The Bolte Bridge is a large twin cantilever road bridge in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Oh wow on this map, so nice. I like the way you started this city. I also really like the future proofing on the frontage roads and stuff.
Hey biffa, you can turn off the garbage dump and when the workers leave you can use the collapse building option for a quicker way to replace dumps and cemeteries
Stoked! I swear only you and two dollars twenty are the only ones I can watch when it comes to city skylines.
Oo so excited for the new map! Playing with all the topography will be fun to watch! I love Tea-ster Islands suggestion from Felxi Hoffman the most hehe
District name or general tea supply for the city for definitely be "Cuppaborinha > get a cuppa in ya!" lol
Biffa tuning the speed limit to 50mph in the city has some danger level vibes i wasnt ready for
When you said you were still going to lay pipe, because its part of the game, I felt that. I love your videos and content. please keep it up,
Just bought this game and following this build. 45 min video takes a couple of hours 🤣 Its a great learning curve.
