My dad who recently (after a small stoke and a bout of cancer) went wfpb is so excited to try this recipe. He’s a pie king and loves making them so thanks for sharing this recipe and reminding him wfpb doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the things you love.
You are a genius! Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. I’m in my fifties being a vegan for over a year and I am so happy seeing young people like yourself going the right direction in their lives. For you, our planet, our future... Best wishes 😘❤️🙏
Just found your channel. Can't wait to try this and a few of the other recipes I've found in your other videos! I love that you use ingredients i already have in my kitchen!
I made 3 of these chocolate pudding pies this morning. I've been using The Jaroudi Family recipes to stock up on freezer treats and this one was absolutely rich, creamy and simply devine! The crust holds together really well and was easy to press out all along the bottom. The allspice adds a really great flavour to the crust. I had never used allspice before and it is really worth adding as I think it compliments the chocolate pudding well!!
Made this it’s so good. I guesstimated on the 3 cups of sweet potato so I think that’s why mine didn’t firm up. Put it in the freezer and it was fine tho
Brownies, pudding, and now pie? You are going to make me skinny!! 😂 I'm definitely making this in a few days. Big thanks for everything. We love your creations. I even had to make more of your cheese sauce today. We can't get enough of it. ❤️
Made this a once! It was good but a little bitter for me. However consistency was perfect: will try again will less cocoa powder and more dates! Great recipes. Thank you Brittany
Another fabulous dessert idea, Brittany! I'm thinking of pre-baking the crust because I really like a crunchy cookie-like crust and don't mind an extra step. Then when chilled I will slice it and slip pieces of parchment between slices before freezing; that way I can remove and defrost one serving as needed. Thank you for all these recipes using cocoa!
Oh my gosh this is sooo good! And made with sweet potatoe! tastes so decadent you would never know it wasn't the unhealthy original we all grew up with. Brilliant!
I'm on the fruits and roots challenge and this isn't 100% compliant but it's my husband's birthday in two days. This would be great so I could steal a sliver lol. Thanks for sharing.
This is so chocolatey and delicious! I do think it has a slight sweet potato taste, but I love it! I plan to keep one in my freezer for after dinner chocolate cravings.
This is amazing! I froze the leftovers and we had it after it had thawed slightly but still frozen - sooo delicious! I am definitely making chocolate pudding iceblocks (popsicles for Americans) 😁
Just made this and it is sooooooo ahhh-mazing!! I feel like I'm cheating and eating something bad for me! Thank you Brittany for all your hard work to make these videos and for all of your support for the WFPB community! ❤💜
Oh my goodness this looks sooo good! I’ve tried making your sweet potato chocolate pudding so many times it’s become our favorite! It’s so mind blowing how incredible it’s so good and so healthy for us. ♥️♥️♥️
I found that adding 1/8 teaspoon of baking powder to 3 Tablespoons of cocoa takes the acidic edge off the cocoa, and allows you to use less sweetener (dates in this case). However, it does cause the cocoa to foam up. Not sure how you would use it in this recipe other than to heat up the milk to 160F, dump the baking soda in it to kill off of any germs in the baking soda, then dissolve the cocoa in the milk and let it foam up and settle down before combining it with the sweat potato.
love the chocolate pudding and the sweet potato brownies so I know this is going to be the bomb!, thank you so much. I can have decedent chocolate and not feel guilty
I found you by this video and I tried this recipe tonight. It’s so easy and healthy and decadent! Thank you for sharing! It’s going to be my new go to dessert! Many of my friends will also try this recipe!
Great recipe, will be giving this a try, yum! Suggestion .... Perhaps instead of saying to use more or less dates depending upon their size, how about measuring them out in grams and stating their weight, that would make things so much easier
I made this! It tastes so good but it didnt firm up like yours idk what I did :( even overnight didnt. So it didnt slice like a pie. But the flavor is amazing!
Hi Brittany, is there a way to figure calories on your recipes? My husband needs 2500 calories a day so I just wondered how to use your recipes in his diet. Thank you for all the great recipes.
That looks delicious! I don't have a food processor but do have a Vitamix and a Nutribullet. Would it be possible to make this in either of those machines? Thanks.
@@TheJaroudiFamily Great idea! Thank you :-) I might whiz the oats up first to create oat flour and then mix it with date paste. That would probably approximate most to oats and dates going into the food processor at the same time.
Also, how many sweet potatoes did you have to roast to make three full cups, and were they big, medium or small? Many thanks. (We don't use cup measurements much in my country and I don't have a sense of how much that would be.)
I'm sort of on your husband's page when it comes to sweet potatoes. I feel good when I eat them but I'm not overly fond of them, so this (and your chocolate pudding) are a great way around that.
@Mary Grindstaff I made the pie tonight, but used my own wfpb crust recipe, and just noticed the call for a whole tablespoon of allspice. I do not care for spice with chocolate anyway, but if I were to have made this crust, I would have only used 1/4 tsp. It's such a strong spice, it must be a mistake, but it's listed as a tablespoon on the blog as well.
I made the pudding again this morning to remedy the situation. I only used 1/4 cup of my Hersheys 100% cacao and upped the dates for added sweetness. My recommendation would be to taste the pudding and make adjustments as needed. Also, blend the dates with liquid first and add sweet potato last. I messaged the author and she and I took time to discuss options and I was appreciative.
This only tasted like sweet potato to me. I must add I was hopeful this would be a disguised sweet potato flavor as I do not like sweet potato pie or pumpkin pie. This tasted a bit like those. Not like a chocolate pudding. In my opinion.
PLEASE do a tofu cheesecake recipe!!!

Thank you for a wonderful dessert!
I'm making it again today! I am so grateful... one of my favorite desserts before plant based. Blessings
Too many recipes to try!!! 😍💕😊I love how simple and wholesome the ingredients are! 👍
Deglet Noor Dates are what you used. 😉 Ajwa Black Dates are like hard candy if you freeze them. Those are my favorite.
My husband's birthday pie. He was blown away and we all enjoyed it!
This looks amazing. Can’t wait to try this recipe!
Wow! Looks soooo good!
This is AWESOME. Love that it's Whole Food & Plant-based! Thank You!
Looks really creamy and delish!

So happy to hear that 🥰🥰
Ashley Espinoza does it taste like sweet potato?
A. A. Hi! No not at all! Taste like chocolate mouse/ pudding!
Great recipe, will be giving this a try, yum! Suggestion .... Perhaps instead of saying to use more or less dates depending upon their size, how about measuring them out in grams and stating their weight, that would make things so much easier
Oooooh - what a great idea!
My favorite kind of pie!!! Can't wait to try it...just need dates 😊 need some anyway for more date paste😂💖💖💖
This looks awesome!!! If you don't have cooked sweet potatoes, could you substitute canned pumpkin???
Yup they will work 👍🏻👍🏻
Yes!,❤️❤️❤️❤️
Brittany this looks great I’m going to give us a try probably next week. I have to move baby chickens out of my house into the wilderness this week. 😂
Sweet potatoes again? Yes!
Could you use canned sweet potatoes? or pumpkin?
Yes to both!
Would you be able to dona video on how to make a Vegan Sandwich Spread. I used to love eating that before I switched to plant based. Thank you.
That looks like beautiful chocolaty goodness! Question - could you use a blender instead for the crust?
Yummm can’t wait to make !!! If using majewel dates how many do you think for crust and pudding ??
I would say 5-6 for both
The Jaroudi Family thank you looks yummmm !!!!!
I bet this will tastes as chocolate ice cream 🍨
PS congrats 🎉 on 30k+ subscribers, next goal 35K
Would I be able to make these in a cupcake dish? To make mini pies? I'd find it easier to freeze and portion control that way.
Looks delicious but wondering if it tastes like sweet potatoes.
Has anyone tried baking the crust? I don't like the taste of unbaked crusts, and prefer the carmelized/toasted taste that comes with baking.
Hi britney could i use steel cut oats instead of rolled oats? also could i use carob instead of cocoa powder?
I made this! It tastes so good but it didnt firm up like yours idk what I did :( even overnight didnt. So it didnt slice like a pie. But the flavor is amazing!
Try putting it in the freezer for a bit!!
Can cacao powder be subbed for cocoa powder? Looks very delish!
Girl, if you don’t have a cookbook already published, then you need to create one. I have all these slips papers with your recipes on my counter
Is there a caloric intake provided somewhere on your website, for the carrot cake muffins? Thnku. :)
wwwwooooaaaw!!
Hi Brittany, is there a way to figure calories on your recipes? My husband needs 2500 calories a day so I just wondered how to use your recipes in his diet. Thank you for all the great recipes.
You might find a calorie counting tool that allows you add your recipes. I use something like that to count calories in another app.
Amanda M, which calorie counting app do you use?
That looks delicious! I don't have a food processor but do have a Vitamix and a Nutribullet. Would it be possible to make this in either of those machines? Thanks.
You could use date paste to make the oats stick together as a crust!
@@TheJaroudiFamily Great idea! Thank you :-) I might whiz the oats up first to create oat flour and then mix it with date paste. That would probably approximate most to oats and dates going into the food processor at the same time.
Is there something I can sub for the allspice?
You can sub for pumpkin pie spice 🥰
Can you taste the sweet potatoes in it? I'm not a fan of them
bonniemannen you can’t! My husband does not like sweet potatoes but he loves the pie!
Everytime I eat cacao or cocoa I get flu like symptoms
🌎💚💚🌍💚💚🌏
Also, how many sweet potatoes did you have to roast to make three full cups, and were they big, medium or small? Many thanks. (We don't use cup measurements much in my country and I don't have a sense of how much that would be.)
2 large sweet potatoes :)
@@TheJaroudiFamily Brilliant! Thank you very much :-) We can find huge sweet potatoes here in Aldi and Lidl.
I'm sort of on your husband's page when it comes to sweet potatoes. I feel good when I eat them but I'm not overly fond of them, so this (and your chocolate pudding) are a great way around that.
Where would I buy a pie plate similar to yours?

Is it possible the amount of allspice is wrong? We couldn't eat it. It was the worst thing I've made wfpb. Can't figure out what went wrong.
We use a whole tablespoon, and really love the flavor. You can always cut that down to a teaspoon if you are not a fan.
What is non dairy milk?? please
maryann benedetti almond milk, cashew milk, hempseed milk, etc. Any milk that does not come from an animal.
Made this today. Chocolate part is good but the allspice ruined the base. Next time I will leave it out.
Same here, I think a tsp would be OK but a tbsp was overbearing
This only tasted like sweet potato to me. I must add I was hopeful this would be a disguised sweet potato flavor as I do not like sweet potato pie or pumpkin pie. This tasted a bit like those. Not like a chocolate pudding. In my opinion.
Dayna Fey dang it. That was my fear as I am making it now. I don't like sweet potato either
I was so excited by this, but then you lost me at sweet potato 🤮😭
Can’t even taste them I promise 💕
You can't tell AT ALL.
