Worst job in the world? Knocking a door at 3am to tell a mom and dad their daughter isn't coming home, ever... they fall apart in front of you and you feel like shit, but you got the short straw.
Because her boyfriends ego was bigger than his (lacking) talent.
    That bastard lived
long retired ex cop fast response grade 1 car and bike. aslo mx racer (250 expert).
I didn't like picking up human road kill, so don't accuse me of then lacking a sense of humour.
that cr is cool brings back fun memories.
closed circuit racing is fun and a buzz, . eating dirt, being embarassed, busting a few bones and reparing expensive shit less so. But you chose to sign up and play
the road? nah not your playground, someones family is out there and they didn't sign up.

Think I can provide some genuine answers having worked with people who are into this side of car culture/been to these sort of meets etc.
    1. Majority of the lads doing this aren't aged over say 28. Get a few outliers obviously but in general they're a lot younger and so aren't fully mature and think about the consequences of their actions.
    2. They've grown up watching the Fast and the Furious so their interest is in the illegal street racing side. None of them watch motorsport, they get their cars built purely for roaming the streets at night and going to street race meets.
    3. They do it for the adrenaline thrill - you can say 'x is faster than y' etc. but on another day x will lose. They're doing it for the fun and no ones keeping the score. Yet they do believe it requires skill (whether its roll racing or swimming through traffic). When you see them driving though their seating position is always terrible - as far back and down as possible with arms straight locked out. They also seem to all steer super aggressively like snapping the wheel 90 right then straight when overtaking. I dont know if its because they all copy fast driving from watching each other but thats how they do it. Explains why so many of them die each year tbh.
    4. Yes they all talk in stages. They dont seem to know much about cars apart from v base knowledge e.g. makes and models of German/Jap cars from 1990 onwards, bhp and torque figures, and different engine layouts thats it. "Stage 3 M4 competition, yeah thats a twin turbo inline 6, 700 brake" None of the lads I worked with or went these meets with knew what a TVR was for example. Mad considering that cars is their entire hobby.
    5. None of them have been on track. Probably 10% have been Nurburgring.
    Just a bit of insight

Loved the garage update. I’ve always wondered how they get away with posting videos. I think Carwow and officially gassed have got it right when they do it on a runway in a controlled environment. Track days are awesome ! Great way to learn about your car and your own skill. I had a great moment on a track day at Bedford. Couldn’t shake a 182 clio off in my 400bhp @ wheels GTST. Asked the bloke what mods he had done to his Clio. Stock motor. Uprated suspension and brakes and semi slick tyres. Power isn’t everything. He took me for a lap in the car and it opened my eyes. That’s what track days are all about. 👍🏻

What makes it worse is that the roads fall to shit whenever it rains and takes someone growing a garden in the pothole before even the council see it, it’s just way too risky to consider tonning it, not to mention the amount of balding tyres you see in the local supermarket every goddamn week, makes you wince.

The problem is that, at the end of the day, RUclips is a business. That sort of content brings in a lot of engagement, and so keeps users on the platform and consuming more RUclips. If they ban the content altogether, people will simply seek another platform where it’s permitted, and RUclips will take a financial hit all around. The only real solution is if it’s enforced properly at a law level.

  • @richierich9761

AFAIK the whole "Mexico" thing started during TX2K in the early 2000's , there was a great deal of street racing off the track during the night on the roads around Houston, RUclips is full of the videos . Drivers would say the races were run over the border in Mexico to avoid police investigations and repercussions hence now illegal activity on the roads is described as being carried on in Mexico. Also RWYB at a drag strip is equivalent to a novice track day, there is no competition its all just for fun. You can take your superbike on a novice track day but that doesn't make you a superbike racer.

You are 100% correct about corners and cars, a decent track day is brilliant,
I do follow a Top fuel guy Clay Millican, as again there is a skill,
But Drag racing is something, In the states it different to a Pod RWYB day,
I follow the likes of PFI Speed and even Cleetus as they have classes for standard cars and upwards specs, there is is some build and fab skills involved if you dig deep a little, spec`d turbos proper rules, so the driver can make a difference even in 9/8/7/6 second runs, and cash prizes, so being quickest can pay even in a straight line,
Andy F is a legend in the Scoob world for mapping as well.

I can not stand pop-bang maps, there are videos of numpties doing it in carparks repeatidly - wondering why the police are there. I block the channels that promote that crud. When I was a teen, I did the odd 'key-pop' in the tunnel on the way to Southend on a cruise night, but certainly not everytime. Then again, it was in old Minis - so not good for the car at all - I was more of a cruiser than a racer. In those days, I probably had more watts in my amps than my engine had in performance haha. It would corner well, with spax dampners (medium setting front and hard rear) and 10"x6" wheels in the dry - the older rubber cones were better as they got harder over time. In the wet though, it just lacked the weight to get grip - having a 10"x5" winter set made a chunk of difference.
Blaming the tuners for pop-bang maps is crazy - does Stanley get blamed when someone gets poked with a blade? Just crazy. However, I do feel the tuners should feel shame in doing it - I do understand they need the income though.
I would love the track day event, that would be a great day out - if I can get my Dad's (RIP) 1995 Volvo 850 Estate, Automatic, 2.5 20v 5-pot up and running again - I reckon with one of your drivers it would shame the bellends around Brands. It's done 237k miles and has more body roll in a corner than P&O in gale force winds.
Classic Minis can do Brands hatch in less than a minute, if you wanted another performance indicator.
Great rant - legit and on point.

I lightly spun a rod bearing on my s85 v10 crank, ive been trying to source a good replacement for 9 months now
There is a company in america (lang racing) that can weld and regrind the crank, is this worth doing, pros and cons ?

But to hoon around like some do online is a death waiting to happen. Then the knee jerk reaction will be to ban performance mods as there is so many bad examples already posted.

Rick - drag racing my 2017 RS7 involves no skill because the car is so well engineered and set-up from Audi out-of-the-box. However, drag racing my 1969 Camaro SBC w/it’s Muncie 4 spd on a very tight budget and being able to out “engineer/set-up” and beat another comparable 60’s muscle car w/twice the engine and budget does involve a significant amount of skill. It’s building the engine / trans combination on a tight budget w/the non-existent parts of the 90’s in combination with setting up the front & rear suspension to achieve proper weight transfer to put the power down and shifting that 55 yr-old Muncie 4 spd to get down the track and beat the other guy who spent 2X what you spent is a very rewarding experience. I 100% agree none of the above has any place on public roads, putting others safety at risk. Drag racing in America can be a lot of fun, but I do agree racing on a road course is significantly more difficult, more expensive and highly dangerous. I admit that when the opportunity arises to smack a nice, unsuspecting C7 or C8 Corvette w/a 4750lb C7.5 Audi RS7 from red light to red light is very difficult to resist. I 100% agree that filming/promoting/announcing “Mexico” street racing to the world on RUclips is for ass-clowns. P.S. Love Your Channel! ….Dan

In the early days of "Hot Rodding" in the U.S post WW2 the people racing built their own cars so the brag was how good a hot rod builder you were. These U Toobers are just hooning around in stuff they have bought.

And I don't get it how they get a hard on going fast down the freeway all the time. It's fun and thrilling the first time or the second time but the third time i pushed my car as hard as it goes i was like meh, I'm going fast and that's it. It's one of those "first time" things, you get nervous and full of adrenaline first time you do it but that's it,once you've done it there's no much thrill in it. At least that's how i feel.

    You see these space's between
    the words that's what is
    floating around in their head..
Sadly that's seems to be the normal in this day and age. Cutting roundabouts, pulling out of a T junction just
because there was a five second gap, where in the highway code are they listed. That's just adding to your rant
I see it daily and nothing is being done about it. Then there is the other side of the storey that @christompson4161
has to deal with. Anyway great vlog as usual.

Should just say these RUclipsrs "trigger" you, then it's a hate crime and they'll be arrested. Posting anything else illegal would get you investigated. But as you say even air gun channels and groups are constantly blocked and suspended.

100% agree with the rant. Don't care if they hit a tree. I used to have rd race my FS1E I even got it to 55mph down a very steep hill once 😂. Unsure what the police actually do nowadays.

Also worth mentioning is what these high powered cars that race, are like below 5000rpm. I'd love to see these 'certi' drivers 'race' from 2000rpm. Terrible road cars

Fair enough but not everyone can afford to do track days every week or afford the cost of a track car with a service team on hand
There’s no fun in that for a lot of people

I think you're a bit off about drag racing, at least from my perspective here in the USA. Most of the people at my local track build their own combinations, tune, and do so on a budget. I think it takes a certain skill set to use a typical budget and make a vehicle out perform something the average person couldn't afford. It's more than just driving, it's the overall accomplishment. The track is just a measurement of that accomplishment.
