  • From the 2023 Werks Reunion Amelia Island, held by the Porsche Club of America at the The Amelia River Club, Amelia Island, Florida.
Here we feature a 1983 Porsche 930 Turbo Flachbau or Flatnose from the Porsche Werks 1 department. These cars paved the way for the later Sonderwunsch or special wishes department which added the feature as a factory option.

Fascinating machine and very rare, but red red red. Oh boy, a bit too much I'm thinking.

Hi Richard, a really beautiful car with only one year’s average mileage on the clock! You showed to separate registration plates in your video so that was confusing. (I wonder if they’ve ever driven it after dark, or would that be against the law in the States?) 🤔

Hello Richard . You slightly surprised me with this one , l didn't think this would be your cup of tea. I didn't realise the headlamps were deleted as l thought the law set a minimum height . I imagined they'd be like the TR7 , Miata . I did work on a few Porsches and indeed the Carrera was a very quick car and had a very narrow power band albeit non turbo . Back in the 1970's before they started galvanising the 911 they rusted out very quickly and terminally ! Thanks Richard .

John! These first slant noses were Euro-only so they didn't need to conform to USA regs. That is were the pop-up slant noses come in :) Thanks for watching.

Sorry Richard but that slant nose with that ugly front bumper with lights built in is not a good look. The Ruf slant nose with popup headlights is a much better looking car all round.😁😁
