"HE CRASHED HIS MALIBU!!" -The title if any other youtube channel posted this. Thanks, Matt for being the man. Also, you gotta get this thing out again in the dry!
Lovely car. Real classic. I don't mind the ads in your vids Matt. You keep delivering great videos FOR FREE and everyone can SKIP those ads. Keep it up! :)
not a Porsche guy but this seems cool you should make some exeptions for him and next dry day give it another shot.420whp and under 3000lbs is something I want to see
I get chills listening to those outside shoots. What a car. Always wanted one of these as a kid, and they were affordable back then. Now they are just out of reach completely not only to flat out buy, but the parts too.
These type of ads in the beginning of the video are really well placed. I mean they are no longer ads, they are more like recomendations and not annoying at all. It was even useful because it really is a good site!
This is my kind of project car. Simple, quick cruiser; 6-cylinder boom; manual transmission; windows down, nothing obtrusive. I need a car like this some day.
Having been there that day, Those roads were properly treacherous. Was genuinely worried when those dudes weren't back after about 10 mins. If Matt was more of an ego guy they could've gone the way of the formula D Malibu. Bitchin car Derek!
Yeah, I didn't realize how slick the road was until we got out of the car. Walked to the road and your shoe would just sort of glide across the pavement. Interesting day.
I love how he acknowledges that he's tastefully ruined this car, but didn't give a fuck and loves it. I'd do the same, fuck restoring and fuck keeping it stock. This is a beautiful build.
"Seems like you got your head in the right place" *laughs* "That's questionable". I think i like this guy :) Too bad about the weather. Would have loved to see more of what this car can do :)
louisrsr Bad idea to put a roll cage in there. Usually these stoners like the owner here like to all sit in the car together and hot box it, but now they can't fit anyone in the backseat.
I don't know why people find it necessary to be really aggressive towards stoners. It's strange, but there are a certain group of people who just can't leave other people alone.
Derek was an excellent guest. The car is obviously excellent too, but this wasn't the ideal display of it. Derek didn't do the wrenching, he hasn't got a great wealth of knowledge about cars, and he admits he's not very comfortable in the passenger seat. The video was more fun to watch than most because these two were just having a blast together. With a lot of guests, Matt pulls the weight of asking questions and providing commentary. To be fair, Matt is usually focused on driving fast, and the owner is focused on not panicking. That's totally understandable with the format, but you can tell these two get along well and it was great! I agree with the thousands of viewers asking for dry redo. Keep up the good work.
The best part was that the owner was really cool and relaxed, he wasn't annoying, he wasn't looking for all the attention he could get, it just really stood out as a lot of the owners are a little annoying haha. Great job avoiding a crash as well.
Awesome Porsche Derek!!! Wicked cool and sounds amazing in the drive bys with the blow off valve whistling. Too bad it rained, but I don't blame Matt for showing restraint and respect for your Porsche. Better safe than sorry! Looks like a hell of a lot of fun to drive!
I dont usally like graphics on cars but I love the white with the porsche stripe logo above the rockers. One of the best looking somewhat common cars from 82.
"Vintage Porsches and Fox Body Mustangs" Is this guy my long lost brother or something? I've owned 3 mustangs and would freaking love to have a nice Porsche now. I used to be the guy that "didn't get Porsches, they all look the same" but the more reviews and drives I see with them I'm addicted now.
Awesome car! The owner seems like a cool dude. It's a shame the weather didn't allow for you to send it. But it shows you respect the car and the owner.
What a brilliant episode. Talk about divine intervention with the car parked in the ditch. Wouldn't want to push that old mega powerful rear engined Porsche too hard in those conditions. (Even being a.well sorted car)
Nearly a perfect build, but a car like that deserves so much better than the StanceNation rod exhaust you got going on. Pipe it directly through the bumper like bbi if you have to
Awesome car!! It's probably hard as hell to drive and in the rain damn! Insane about the Malibu man wow! Second the motion, do this in dry weather please!! Probably one of the coolest cars I've seen in the show.
please please please redo this video in the dry, these are some of my favorite cars.
Garrett Powers Plus I'd love to watch another video with the biggest stoner in the valley
more porsches in general
Garrett Powers 100% needs to be redone
Indeed. Not a fan of modern Turbos but old-school style Turbos are special. This one deserves a proper go.
i can't thumbs up this enough
"HE CRASHED HIS MALIBU!!" -The title if any other youtube channel posted this. Thanks, Matt for being the man. Also, you gotta get this thing out again in the dry!
first corner, car in a ditch! let's take it easy with an old rear engine big turbo car in the rain. smart choice.
Not to mention semi-slick r spec tires. NT01s are horrifying in the rain.
Jeffrey Alpert especially when it first starts to rain and the oil on the road rises to the surface before washing away
& RWD
This dude exactly looks like what I expect someone to look like that would drive a mad retro 911. Fucking legend!
I will take that as a compliment, so... thanks.
When the first thing that comes out of his mouth is "I was going 30" dude was whipping his Malibu lol
Trueboost Skyline r32 He was working on his story the whole time he was waiting to flag someone down.
Lovely car. Real classic.
I don't mind the ads in your vids Matt. You keep delivering great videos FOR FREE and everyone can SKIP those ads. Keep it up! :)
My favorite one take in a while. This guy seems like a genuinely fun dude. And amazing car with just the right amount of crazy.
I appreciate that. Thanks.
not a Porsche guy but this seems cool you should make some exeptions for him and next dry day give it another shot.420whp and under 3000lbs is something I want to see
He says it in the video, it has 2600lbs.
Which is under 3,000 lbs like the original comment said?? But you are correct, it is stated in the video and also the description.
Isit Fast? How can anyone not be a Porsche guy
its called preference. .Lamborghini and Mclaren are mine..
Smart speeds in that weather...#respectthedrive !
2600 pounds with that kind of power and lag has got to be so much more thrilling than your everyday supercar. What a sick car build
If anything is an indication that this is not a good day for a turbocharged 911, a malibu in a ditch beside skid marks is it.
that was a 600whp sleeper malibu though
what a cool dude
j0rss Don't worry my man. If you smoked as much weed as he does, you could be cool like him too!
+YepItsTommy that was a werid comment
Appreciated. Thanks.
he paints his nails black-not so cool
wastegate who gives a fuck thats just his style. or maybe he his nails got between the porsches doors. who knows
"I slipped there. I was going 30..."....sure you were
Dalton v He meant 30 knots xD
lmfao
30 meters per second
Ya 30 OVER!
he might have only been doing 30, some people just can't drive....
This video has it all, inclement weather, surprise roadside assistance and old 911's.
excellent guest. Bring him back.
I like this fellow's attitude. Seems like a cool guy who doesn't take himself or his car too seriously.
That statement is appreciated. I try not to take much of anything too seriously.
That's a good way to be. Love the car!
Auto Tempest is probably the best advertisement yet i'm going to use it now.
he looked pretty happy his car made exactly 420 hp
So glad to finally watch this! Derek is a super cool guy - wish I could have filmed this car with him while I was in Cali!
This is my kind of project car. Simple, quick cruiser; 6-cylinder boom; manual transmission; windows down, nothing obtrusive. I need a car like this some day.

Derek Whitacre Derek, so awesome seeing you featured on Matt's channel.
CheeRS mate!
Matt drives yet another car that would like nothing more than to kill him, and the video does not disappoint.
Best smoking tire vid of all time.
Tempest is awesome, probably one of the few ads I'm not angry about having to watch.
Please bring this owner/car back. Great personality from both of them. Great video even with the weather.
Cool car, cool guy... Exceptionally funny video. No need to redo this in the dry, you've made the very best of it.
This is a good guest to have on the show! Normally I hate the passengers chit chat but this guy is funny
This car deserves more thumbs up. What an amazing vehicle! Would of liked to see the interior more.
Damn this dude looks like the uncle I always wanted but never had
hey it me your long lost nephew, let me drive your car
Best episode yet as far as I'm concerned! Great chemistry, great car.
I love how he acknowledges that he's tastefully ruined this car, but didn't give a fuck and loves it. I'd do the same, fuck restoring and fuck keeping it stock. This is a beautiful build.
You, sir, understand. Thank you.
Mantenner agreed it's cool to have a resto car but that's not for me I need powah. Also I love old school Porsches. Want one my self but to poor
Just saw this dude out in hollywood on a damn near empty street sitting at a stoplight at 11pm .
Man what a treat.
Saw this pop up while at work. I'm just going to play it in the background but the sound is all I need!
THANK YOU for not using clickbait! Excellent content as usual
I am a huge fan of this channel again. Matt is a nice guy for helping.
I think that I'm in love with the ME109 license place almost as much as the car itself!
More people need to be like Derek. What a great car and tailored to His liking.
"Seems like you got your head in the right place" *laughs* "That's questionable". I think i like this guy :) Too bad about the weather. Would have loved to see more of what this car can do :)
can you drive me down there? 'i got a roll cage..'
louisrsr great excuse.
That guy seemed properly sketchy
louisrsr Bad idea to put a roll cage in there. Usually these stoners like the owner here like to all sit in the car together and hot box it, but now they can't fit anyone in the backseat.
+YepItsTommy what is up with all your aggressive comments about this guy smoking weed. Matt smokes.
I don't know why people find it necessary to be really aggressive towards stoners. It's strange, but there are a certain group of people who just can't leave other people alone.
This guy is completely awesome. It's nice to have people on here with personality
Yes Derrek! Your turbo narrowbody 911 rocks... sounds so badass in person and on video! Be careful driving that car, widowmaker!
Derek was an excellent guest.
The car is obviously excellent too, but this wasn't the ideal display of it. Derek didn't do the wrenching, he hasn't got a great wealth of knowledge about cars, and he admits he's not very comfortable in the passenger seat.

Matt you are the MVP with Autotempest plug! And a great car too!
The best part was that the owner was really cool and relaxed, he wasn't annoying, he wasn't looking for all the attention he could get, it just really stood out as a lot of the owners are a little annoying haha. Great job avoiding a crash as well.
loved this video Matt..one of the best guests you've had on your channel
That car sounds so great. These are some of my favorite drive by shots. Sad couldn't push it. IN DA DRY!
Thanks! Even with the rain, I think we got the point across.
That guy's personality and black painted fingernails @12:10 ? The car reflects the owner! Would love to see that again in the dry!
Dude's face at 10:48 says it all
swazi5 best part of the video
swazi5 Dude's face the whole video says it all. On this week's episode of To Catch a Stoner with Chris Hansen
Swaziland he's definitely thinking "oh shit he's actually pushing it in the rain"
imgur.com/idMYytT
That Chevy driver must've had real crap tires.
best one take in a while
I dont usally like graphics on cars but I love the white with the porsche stripe logo above the rockers. One of the best looking somewhat common cars from 82.
Matt, you are a classy fella. That was crazy and it was cool you pulled over instead of whip by and letting him hear that turbo spool. :)
This car sounds so nice. Love this era of Porsches.
No need for a re-do in the dry. Great video Matt! You are a lucky dude to drive these great cars.
Those fly-bys were just glorious
This thing sounds amazing in the drive-by footage. Very nice build!
best car series on youtube hands down!
Kudos for checking on the guy. Most anyone else would've kept driving. Matt... having a beer for you good sir
Awesome car! The owner seems like a cool dude. It's a shame the weather didn't allow for you to send it. But it shows you respect the car and the owner.
Sketchy car, awesome guy, deserves another shot in the dry. Great One-Take!
LA is definitely the kind of place to put up big flashy signs warning you that the road is when when it starts to rain.... xD 5:11
Super cool owner, car is gorgeous, and that sound is amazing!
I've not even started to watch yet, but this is gonna be the one! Looks so cool
A little late to the party seeing this vid, but 911SC + cool, laid back host, you got my sub! Owner seems chill too. Great vid!
What a brilliant episode. Talk about divine intervention with the car parked in the ditch. Wouldn't want to push that old mega powerful rear engined Porsche too hard in those conditions. (Even being a.well sorted car)
"be careful the roads are wet" Matt- " yeah , no shit."😂 I died
This gives me so much motivation to finish my boosted 911SC!
This guys car and him are so cool that no one has even mentioned his black nails.
He's so gay to the point that nobody cared to mention it.
Doesn't have to be gay to paint his nails
I mean gay in the old meaning of the world, not a homosexual.
Those are cool too.
that car doesnt look like its suppose to be there... OH SHIT its not suppose to be there lol
So cool, love old school raw 911s
One of the best built car i've ever seen!
Please do another with this car in the dry- The car is sick, and the owner is awesome
Redo in the dry! Air cooled Porsches are my favorite. And I know I am not the only one
the off throttle exhaust sounds fantastic
This is the exact 911 I want, love this car.
thank you so much for not making this click bait.
Nearly a perfect build, but a car like that deserves so much better than the StanceNation rod exhaust you got going on. Pipe it directly through the bumper like bbi if you have to
Those flybies were pure eargasm!
Matt, you impression of a turbo back pressure is epic!
This guy is fucking cool and his car is awesome
This is one scary video, I can feel the big turbo spooling up and the tyres trying to grip....a very fast car!
yes can you guys please re-do this video in a better weather I dying to see this bad boy going fast and hear that turbo blowing
Awesome car!! It's probably hard as hell to drive and in the rain damn! Insane about the Malibu man wow! Second the motion, do this in dry weather please!! Probably one of the coolest cars I've seen in the show.
What a top bloke Derek is.
This car deserves another one take Matt !
You guys go lucky, could have been you in that wild ass single turbo murderous beast of a porsche. Thank god you guys saw that, i mean it.
The yellow headlights😍The whale tail😍😍😍
mad respect to Matt for stopping to offer to help that guy
autotempest actually seems like a useful service if it works properly !
Spun into a ditch, going 30... Sounds legit
I really liked the owner of this car, really hope that you can make another video with this car on a dry day
Damn it Matt, need more Porsche's man! Not enough of them! More! I mean it! MORE! :D
I applaud you for not titling this video "crashing in the rain" or some bull shit.
That front splitter looks so good on this car.
The video hasn't started yet but this looks like the perfect car...
Thanks for not using a click bait title. Awesome shit
One of the best guest ever haha
