Yess they were CRIMINALLY underused in Alterna, wish they popped up in random levels a lot more. That thing in Kelp Dome is pretty funny, guess they were coded a bit *too* similar to the players Also we NEED to get their hairstyle at some point. Octos still have like 4 less than Inklings...
Going to how you were comparing Halo to Splatoon with the enemies, I ironically agree with a certain part of it. I think besides Master Chief's helmet, the enemies are the most iconic part of Halo. I myself, have wanted to get into Halo but have never played or seen much of the games. The only thing close I've gotten to was watch a friend play it. But I want to compare the weapons of Halo because the default gun (I think it's the Assault Rifle) I think looks bland and just an actual gun with space metal attached and most times barely can tell the difference, while I can easily identify a certain gun called Needler because of it's design looking so different than average shooters. I think what made the Octolings so popular was how it looked like a player model with cosmetics, and that we always wanted to play as villains. That's why people freaked out over Ridley in Smash Ultimate, or playing Ganondorf in Hyrule Warriors, or Bowser in any of the spin-offs. But Octolings actively looked similar to the main character design and people found out in Splatoon on WiiU that there was going to be planned playable Octolings through the data. And part of it could be that we wanted to know more about Octolings and the world of Splatoon in general as it was a new IP at the time.
To me, this enemy always felt cool, as it is like a training of what you could see in multiplayer, if you haven't played there yet. I always like games that challenges you with enemies that have the same skills and/or movements that the player does. And to be fair... there aren't many enemies here on this game, so it is only normal that the octoling is just the best enemy on this game. At 10:40 I totally agree with you here. It is so interesting to think about that a random enemy in a game, managed to captivate our atention, and so it was made a part of the culture for the splatoon fans (so much that it became a playable character). Also, at 8:57 that footage; that inkling model just looks so random, uncanny and just so funny XD (so cursed for what we are used to see XD). Also, The first halo games were really cool I agree, and I liked the description of the enemies there. Also, I didn't know this channel. Now I am subscribed. Really good content you put here, and this is the first video I saw. Really good editing here; I feel this channel either has a ton of potential, or it is already an underrated channel by this point.

With Splatoon 3 being my first Splatoon game, I am not the best player out there, the After Alterna final stage with the Octolings was so hard for me. I could get through the first stages but on the last one I would be spammed with specials. I beat it after like eight hours. Not sure if this is a skill issue or not.
