      Hard sparring is great, too . If you don't throw hard, then it becomes more and more unrealistic. For example, that smaller guy can keep going with combos in this sparring, but if he was hit by a fighter that size for real, he wouldn't.

    • @SenseiSeth
      @SenseiSeth  4 года назад +23

      Sure, but usually you shouldn’t go hard sparring with someone you just met that hour

      That's how you distinguish wise people, they reflect on self improvement. If you try to diminish your opponent and trash talk him, you basically cannot grow and improve, because you put excuses for yourself. I bet that they both basically 'counted' all the clean hits they received and none of the one they give, later thinking to themselves 'I should work on my X, to not let it happen again' instead of what a lot of people I see does - 'I'm the best and the other one make few lucky hits, but that's because I was [insert-random-excuse-here]'.

    jesus christ icy mike moves so well when he gets in his flow that it's kinda scary. Some of those shots appear as though he throws for the next opening before it's even there, like it's choreographed or something and you're just giving it to him. Crazy.

    90 percent of a fighter’s sparring should be like this. Safe and controlled. More rounds in, fewer injuries, less daunting psychologically. Another 5 percent harder, but still not all out. The final 5 almost all out. Well done.

    Sensei Seth, your control and discipline in sparring is very impressive- as a small guy I’ve had terrible and great big man sparring partners - you appear to be a terrific sparring partner.. I know it can’t be easy to pull all those beautiful kicks ..I just really appreciate your ability to help people work technique and timing without punishing them too harshly (I know we gotta get smashed every once in awhile- ego checks). Really awesome of you.

    Yup, Mike's got great composure. You can see just how good it is on his street beef fights. He's a pretty good striker. Doesn't flinch alot so he's got great vision. Kicks well enough to keep his opponent honest. He's incredibly relaxed on the ground. Even when he's getting the worst of it. Very patient.

    Mike was good in the pocket cuz he’s a shorter fighter... shorter fighters more often than not have to get inside and fight in the pocket if we want to be effective and we have to take some damage to get on the inside that’s probably why Mike was in there with his eyes open and comfortable in the pocket. He’s probably at home there.

    Sparring with smaller dudes can suck especially if it’s “friendly” I always feel like I’m handicapping myself and not wanting to put my weight on them or manhandle them a bit, but when we go hard I do much better... idk maybe it’s just a thing with me where I feel like I gotta handicap myself. Also sometimes they’re just a lot better than me so I just lose no matter what lol.

      Julio Cesar Chavez is a fucking bad-ass dude! I love his fight against Camacho period in the pre-fight interview, Camacho was asked what his strategy was. Camacho replied:
      " I'm gonna Kik his ass"
      " what?" The interviewer said.
      " I'm gonna kick his ass"!
      LOL. LOL Chavez went out there and licked his cocky ass!🏈 Chavez got into some major bangin! For 12 rounds Chavez used Camacho's stomach for a punching bag! LOL. The next day the headline read:

    You really should work on that mouth guard chewing habit. If you fight a little harder, and someone pops you in the jaw, you're going to spit that thing right out, and it won't be able to perform it's intended purpose (protecting your teeth and jaw).

      Btw, I also meant to say that you have good technique, and humility. I wasn't just trying to be that guy on the internet that critiques everyone. Keep up the good work. 👍

    Ever hear of a jab? You're letting him walk in? You have the reach. Was this a set up?

    • @SenseiSeth
      @SenseiSeth  4 года назад +1

      Did you listen to the beginning of the video? I stated that we tried to spar eachother in the other persons element (so letting him get inside on me). Go watch the video on his channel

      @@SenseiSeth I get it, but there is no striking style that does not include the jab as a primary tool. Kind of like saying we're going to spar karate, but there's no kicking.

      Bud if I just pumped out the jab the whole time it would be the most boring sparring footage on the planet. You can’t try new stuff if all you do is jab. Ya know?

    Be careful with your mouthpiece like that... Easy to get your jaw broken

    Sorry, but that big boy who said he had that dutch style seems out of shape throwing one strike like in 10 seconds and applying no pressure which even at this level of contact you can still apply. And his hand positioning was weird. You cant punch from that positioning. Dutch style is Holzken, Roosmalen, Sauer and they don't look like this guy at all and neither do those big boys from Mike's gym in Amsterdam so no - looks FAKE.

    Why do you chew on your mouth piece? Lol

    That wasn't even dirty boxing 😂. That was you not used to fighting average to shorter sized guys. Too used to long bombing with those legs, and then got your belly ate up.
