Greetings: A few important points left out: 1) That is a mechanical device. Not recommended 4 portable (in motion) use. 2) Large external devices require excessive current many host devices cannot supply. Use of a powered hub is recommended. 3) The external device has 2 B android software compatible or formatted such. 4) A compatible file manager is required. 5) I suggest moving small flile blocks (> 5G) or the host device will probably time out. Large file transfers generally require babysitting the transfer process.
THANK YOU!!!! YOURE A LIFE SAVER!! I really appreciate the step by step with out rushing. thank you again
Thank you so much, this video helped me be able to free up storage on my mobile (cell) phone. My Google account was so full and being out of storage, I no longer was able to access or send emails. Thanks again and Happy New Year!
Thank you!!! My mac wouldn't let me transfer photos from my phone to it via smart share app for samsung. This is the only method that worked for me, thank you so so much.
Thanks man, I was wondering if this was possible. Very convenient. I always have problems copying to a HD using my laptop as a "middle man". sheesh this is so much easier. thanks again.
Fantastic video. Direct very well explained!
This is an absolute game changer! Thanks for the video.
Thank you! It really works. I am using a Samsung A51 phone and a Seagate 2TB HDD and a type Cto USB OTG I bought from Lazada.
The hard disk by otg didn't damage your phone? Could you tell me please? I'm afraid to use it
@@Ytu6482 why would it damage the phone? illogical
I'm afraid it will damage the phone or it's battery
Worked great!!!! Thank you!!!!
Very helpful. Thank you
How about record it and directly save videos that are recording right to the external drive?
Major helpful. Thank you very much.
Thanks for watching!
Good information thanks 😊
When I connect and then open "MyFiles" it doesn't show my USB device
I use the same setup with wireless charging power bank for backup my SD card . 🙃 i am still useing note10plus because it has sd card slot build in .
I have a seagate portable drive but my phone says it is read only? Do i have to do something special to it? Model SRD0NF1. Thanks!
Can you access the files on the drive and does it have any major impacts on the mobile device?
@1:20 why it is not recognizing my hard drive? I need it for backing up my mobile s21 ultra.
Thank you 😊
Thanks for watching!
Hope this keeps working. I literally have a pile of cords and adapters. Ours are so close, I figured how's this dead crap going to work.
I tried it again, waited for the light to go from blinking to solid and went into file manager again instead of memory & storage in settings.
Can't we hook it up so the external has its own power?
Thanks man. You saved me months of headaches and problems. Appreciate this vid so much.
Do I have to register or just simply use the the drive
Is it easy to copy/move all your pictures and videos to an external drive like this before you do a factory reset on your phone?
Does it download the apps: file manager to do transfer job ?
I need a link for thr cable please
Very helpful video, iPhone and iPad connected to hard drive disk cant display the capacity storage it is very confusing,so I will buy Samsung this year😂
Will this system work on my samsung A51 if I buy any hard disk drive?
Can it work by using an older Samsung galaxy that has a micro usb?
Seems pretty easy but im running into this ntfs issue when i try to move or copy them to my external... Any idea and thank you in advance
Which file system are you using? I tried exFAT for my old spinning drive but it’s not readable on Android. Might be a power issue.
I have the same hard drive but it says "read only". How do i format it?
Can you use one harddrive with multiple devices, say two different cellphones?
My Galaxy A52s just won't let me accsess my portable ssd nvme. It says "high power usb device connected" and it charging only.
What should i do? Help.
What is the small black cable called?
Does anyone have a link for this kind of cable
It's not very practical when on the go, there is type C flush usb drives that are available now
Is the adapter a specific cable that does this function, or is it just a standard USB C OTG cable type C Male to USB 3?
I was wondering the same thing.
me too
is powering the ssd an issue?
Is this for Samsung phone only?
OTG Cable Name Please??? I have S22 ultra not supported OTG
Does the cable have to say OTG? Some of the cables don't say it.
Is it really the otg without wire could damage the phone??
Help trying to move pictures from my S23 SAMSUNG to my 5TB SEAGATE . When everything is connected I have power to my Seagate but when i go to MY FILES USB is not showing up like in your video. so what happening here???
I have an S9 and I’m connecting a Toshiba terabyte. On my phone, I get a prompt saying that it needs to be formatted BUT I’M NOT DOING THAT because if I do, it will erase. What do I do, then?
So what's it a special wire?
Doesn't work at all. Can't create folders at all.
Ya mine says read only
Great video, but I don't have an option to create a folder?
What phone did he have?
Yupp I have the S21 FE 5G and my hard drive is a Seagate 1TB and I don't have the option in the upper menu to "Create new folder" maybe its not compatible with Samsung or Visavusa.????
not show create a folder?
I just wonder if it will work with my samsung galaxy a13 5g
Hi B.I.G. I'm trying to do exactly what you did in the video, but for me, my s 22 ultra won't let me move or copy any files into the USB storage. As soon as I select the video from my internal storage and back out to select the usb storage, the option to "move here" or "copy here" is grayed out and not selectable. I'm also unable to create a new folder in the usb storage from my phone. Could you assist?
Same issue, you got any solution??
Did you guys got any solution to this?
Mine says read only, i think i need to format it but i cant find how to do that.
@@sumitupmannyu3199 yup
Is their a way to record directly to the hard drive?
What is the connecting cable called. When I look up type c to usb cable it just brings up the male input not the female you show
Search - usb to usb to type c cable
did you need to install a ntfs app on your phone before you did that?
I have been doing this, but now my Samsung is not reading my external hard drive...now how do I get it to recognize it again
Hi, I have a problem you see when I plug my toshiba external hard drive to my Samsung a12 it keeps saying the drive has a problem. Is there anyway to fix this?
Hi, I haven't run into this before so I'm not sure. When the message appears does it allow you to select it for additional options? The hard drive may need to be formatted to work properly. If it's been formatted in the past to a different device (PC for example), that may be causing the problem. The drive I use in the video had been formatted to the Samsung first. Afterwards I was able to still use it with a PC. You may have to work through the settings on the phone to resolve this. Sorry I wasn't more helpful.
@@b.i.g.withbr530how do you format it?
Good video but it did not work for me. It let me create a new folder but it did not give me an option to copy it anywhere.
My question is y mine usb storage dont show
I get this message when I try to move files to My Passport Ultra "This USB storage device is in NTFS format so you can't copy from your phone. My phone is a Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G.
I followed the steps and for some reason its not letting me create a file. Do you understand why?
My Note 20 tells me that my m.2 HD is NTFS and cannot transfer.
I'm confused by your title. my android has 12 Gb of memory and you're saying I can bump that up to over a terabyte? what about storage space? can I buy sticks of ram and use it as storage space?
can someone explain why, "create folder" won`t appear on my android 3:01, when i have followed all the steps😭?
I'm having the same issue
@@soundsmith88 same here. Can't create folder
I'm having the same issue. Did anyone have any luck figuring out how?
You need to format the drive to the device you're going to link it to.
I have the same hard drive that is in your video and cable but cannot paste what I copy on my Samsung A52 phone to the hard drive. I can access the external hard drive as far as seeing the files (pictures) on it but no option to create a folder or to paste files to the hardrive. I had originally put files on it from my windows PC but cannot do the same with my Samsung android A52. Is this because the harddrive cannot be used with a windows PC and a android phone at the same time?
same for my S22 ultra, the "create folder" will not appear on the hardrive fille, but will in the "Internal storage" :(
Same issue here
Did anyone find a fix to create folder?
Same here. I'm thinking it's because it was already previously formatted to a PC first. Maybe try a brand new hard drive that hasn't been formatted.
The only negative about storing files to an external hard drive is that if you lose the drive, it's game over.
Didn't work for me at all.
This would have been helpful if he had link the cord🙄😒
It looks very difficult for an old school woman like me..🤔
Can i help you ma'am
Hi you not a old school woman your you look like your in your 30s and very good looking 😁
Won't this ruin or shorten the life of the phone or it's battery?!!!!
