NO Special adapters needed. I used the 1TB SSD by Sandisk with a Type-C to Type-C cable. This process should be identical with other SSDs and even HDDs Наука

As someone whos phone memory is critically low, i am grateful for having come across your very informative video. Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Huge game changer honestly, this is how I transfer videos to my Mac computers now too. Android doesn't play nice with Mac
Thank you for providing the most precise simple instructions to transfer photos to this device from my Android. You are the MVP!
Thanks!
I love you for making it so simple and straightforward
Glad it helped! It can be intimidating to start
Best instructions I HAVE FOUND FOR THIS TASK. Thank you
Thank you! Glad it helped!
Thank you for being so quick to the point. No unneeded chatter is nice. My phone is full because of youtube and now it won't be for long. I'm going to order one for myself as soon as i get paid😅
😂👌
Very helpful. Thank you. Exactly what I was hoping for.
@@DeborahOlander Glad it helped! This is also the way that I transfer my Android files to my Mac laptop
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I saw 2 other videos that didn't tell me to go to the shortcut at 1:24. I just transferred some pictures and it worked PERFECTLY!! I'm going on vacation and needed to free up some space on my phone without deleting my other beloved pictures. You're a godsend!🎉
Glad I could help! I like to show step by step because I dont like how people assume we know how to do it
Thank you, you are the only one giving good advice on how to transfer from android to crucial
Glad you found this useful. I want to make a video referencing how to transfer from Android to Mac as well because it was confusing to me since I have always used Windows. Apple makes it hard when you connect your Android to it.
With my Windows pc, I can easily connect my android, and transfer things over
That’s Incredibly Awesome! Have a great weekend! Cheers!🥂❤️✨
Thanks you too 🙌
Hi There! I subscribed to your channel because you did such a great job on explaining how to transfer files from the Samsung Android over to the SanDisk Extreme Go Portable SSD that I was able to figure it out and showed my 82-year-old mom! The instruction manual that came with it is very unclear. Thank you very much!! SanDisk should consider contracting/hiring you to make their instructional videos 😊
You're too kind! Glad you found value in it 🙏
Life and timer saver. Thank you!
👍👍👍
Thank you!!!!! Saved me so much time! New Subscriber 🎉
Glad it helped 👍👍👍
Sooooooooo Helpful! Thank you for a great video!
Glad I could help! I'm going to make an updated version to this soon
OMG- you're the man- thank you!!!
Glad you found it useful 🤘
Thank you so much u just made this so easy.
thanks for following along
Thanks for the info i subbed 👍🏼
Appreciate it 🙏
Thanks Striker!
Always!
thanks for this tutorial👍👍
Hope you found it useful!
Nice information 😊
👍
Thank You !
Glad I could help!
I'm glad you mentioned the drive was exfat, I was wondering if it works in that format.
Yup. I'm glad it's easy to do
Thank you👌🏽
Glad it helped 👍
What I'd like to know is can we use this as a "save to" location while shooting video. I think it would really help my phone when shooting 8K since there's no separate SD storage.
Android does not have native ability to use this function unfortunately. There are 2 apps that allow for that "save to" to occur directly onto the SSD. One of them is called "Open Camera", but when I tested it, it was superrr laggy and I did not want to risk my content not saving, or the app crashing in the middle of the recording process.
I am surprised Apple beat Samsung to the punch with this feature, and I expect Android to roll it out soon.
I feel your pain though, I like to record 4K and it eats up memory much quicker.
Thanks for making great video! Question - can you backup multiple phones to same SSD? Also, if SSD has backups of multiple phones, when you go to restore, can we ONLY see the folders for that particular phone?
Are you trying to back up the entire phone (operating system and everything?)
It's a good question. If you're backing up just the files it will be ok. If you're backing up everything that will probably include the phones current operating software and such which may get tricky
(I'm not a tech expert by the way)
Thank you!
Glad I could help!
@@Striker50_ Now do you have any videos on how to use the SSD card on a MacBook without losing everything you just transferred onto it from a Samsung!? 😳 Because I have no clue what I’m doing. 😂
@@QueensNative Are you saying you want to transfer from your Samsung, to your Macbook?
@@Striker50_ no… I transferred photos from my old Samsung Note onto the SSD and I want to transfer more photos onto it from my Apple devices… like my MacBook and/or iPhone… however, it requires “reformatting” which entails deleting all of the photos I just transferred onto it. I have 1TB and I want to store all of my photos from multiple locations. Quite the pickle 🥒 it seems.
Hello.
Can you also kopie them to your SSD without deleting them from your android phone?
Yup you have the option to copy, or move
Thank you for this..i was wondering. Now that I'm making videos.. my storage is getting low.
Yeah! Videos eat up memory. I record in 4k and storage gets used insanely fast
Can I directly open the images from the external drive after I transfer it? Thank you.
After transferring to the drive, Wherever you plug in the drive, you should be able to access the images
Does that clarify
@@Striker50_ Great, thank you.

Hey, I am making my backups like you are showing in this video and don't have access to a computer.
So I am looking for a way to mirror my folders on the SSD.
Meaning if I clean my folders on my phone I want the same pictures to be deleted on the SSD when I mirror them, which doesn't happen with the replace action.
Do you (or anyone else here) know any app or file system for android that can do that? 🙏
Would be so helpful, thanks 🤞
If I'm understanding correctly, you want them deleted on both the phone AND SSD? Or after they leave the phone to SSD, they're deleted off the phone?
@Striker50_ Once I deleted them from my phone, I would like the same once, being deleted on the SSD. (So the organising work don't gets lost)
How is password protection activated to the ssd...can you put the video link to see how to activate the encryption to the ssd after transferring data from andriod phone?
I have some SSD videos on the Samsung and SanDisk where I talk about it.
I use filevault on my Mac devices so I think it doesn't allow me to set up the encryption
is it work for hdd 2,5 inch usb 3.0? my phone galaxy s22 ultra
There is a chance it may work.
1 of my HDD works with my Galaxy, and my other HDD does not work
thanks
Anytime 👍
hello,
im trying to connect m2 SSD enclosure (formatted as exFat) to my phone but it still doesn't show up. any ideas how to fix this ?
Is your phone android, and are you opening up the files section, and using a data cable?
@@Striker50_ yes my phone is the galaxy fold 5. i did open the file app and using cable that enclosure comes with. i plug it in PC, it works just fine, but when plug in to the phone, the enclosure gets hot, and not show up in file app.
Interesting. Not sure what it could be then in my honest opinion@@MahKhaRah

Will this work woth Motorola phones? Or Samsung t7?
If it's a smart phone it should still work
How fast is it if we tranfer 4 GB from phone to ssd ? Thanks
Could take 10 seconds, or 3 minutes
Depends on how fast processing speed your phone has
Can you record video from your phone directly onto a connected SSD? Think of getting a new Android phone to record 4K content and output it onto the SSD rather than on the phone memory.
I checked my Samsung Camera settings and storage settings and I can't find anything giving the option to store directly on to alternative storage. My previous Samsung S8+ had a similar option to what you mention, but that's because it had expandable storage whereas the newer ones do not.
What you can do is record on to the phone's memory, and then just transfer it over to the SSD right after recording on the cell phone. If you select the move option, it transfers over the file completely and will open up space on your phone. Personally, I like to do copy, that way if something goes wrong half way, I know the files are still on my phone. Once I can see theyre on the SSD, I then delete them off my phone
@@Striker50_ Thanks for your info. I was wondering if Android phones can record onto SSD, as the new iPhone 15 pro has this feature because they switched to USB-C, and I was thinking that Android phones are maybe ahead in this department already.
@@WLVFX Of course. The only thing I can think of for that to work is that there needs to be an option to choose where memory would like to be stored. I'll try with it plugged in and report back
I plugged in the SSD to my Samsung, and there were no settings allowing me to do so. I did come across this third party app that allows for it to be possible.
android.stackexchange.com/questions/246245/can-you-record-video-to-external-drive
The reason I am not a fan of this, is because the 3rd party app can potentially crash while recording longer content, and none of your content is saved. So personally, I would rather record directly to my cell, and just spend 2-5 minutes transferring over a large file onto my SSD. That way I have peace of mind knowing my file is more secure. I just found this by doing a little research, so I don't know how the app works, or if it has safeguards to prevent that @@WLVFX
UPDATE: I downloaded the "Open Camera" app, and there is an option to record directly on to SSD. You record through the "Open Camera" app instead of your normal phone camera. I took 2 short videos, and it did indeed work to record directly onto my SSD.
What I didn't like is that the "Open Camera" app was massively lagging. I pressed the record button, and the screen was frozen for the entire time, but it did record. That's why I'm not a fan of using a 3rd party app
After getting to the point of doing "move here" a message comes up and says "This USB storage device is in NTFS format, so you cannot copy or move items to it from your phone" Any suggestions?
Interesting. What device are you using both SSD and cell.
If possible, it's always good to reference the manual the portable storage comes with
I've come to the conclusion that the phone isn't compatible with the external hard drive
are you using and HDD? I tried on that as well, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But with an ssd it works all the time. @@tinalecavalier988
It doesn't show up on my 23ultra 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩
Which cable and SSD are you using? You should also get a pop up to grant permission
Can we transfer 4k videos ?
Absolutely 👍 That's what I mostly transfer to make my RUclips videos
How can I connect to iPhone 13X?
From all of the content I've seen; you need a dongle that has a USB-C and Lightning
It's not work with my Note 20 ultra and S23 ultra (Sandisk SSD, extreme pro), Any body have another way, share pls.
Where are you experiencing an issue or what type of drive are you trying to connect?
Same issue.. I understood that you need to exFAT format and then only it works on Android.
M62, despite being from 2021, unfortunately has a USB 2 Type C port, so the speed is inherently slow. Found that out too late 🤷♂️
Yup some ports transfer slow that's the pain point or sometimes it's the cable
How if ssd protected with password, what is opened in android?
I didn't install it in the video (password protection)
That doesn't work on my s23 ultra
Interesting; it should as we're operating off the same UI.
What issue are you having?
