- In this video, we're going to learn how to transfer or copy, in a faster and easy way, any file like photos and videos, from iOS devices (iPhone and iPad) to an external hard drive like a hard drive or an SSD (solid state drive) drive using a Lightning to USB adapter.
Alert: My english pronunciation is pretty basic so you will need to be patient.

Do you have iPhone 15 or older?
Can i copy Gopro's big size vdo from ssd to iphone with this technique? Would i able to watch those vdo at my iphone? Or format of the gopro vdo would not support to wath at iphone?
Hi. There is an iOS app called GoProQuick with which you can preview and transfer photos and videos from the GoPro to the iPhone.
Great explanation, but I have tried this and when my hard drive pops up in my files it says 'read only' and I can't copy and paste any photos or videos. Do you know how I can fix this?
I think it has something to do how the drive was formatted. I believe apfs would be the better option.
Try formating the SSD using exFAT.
@@iMarliton apfs if more safe, and for mac stuff only. exfat is to transfer files from mac stuff to windows.
My external hard drive doesn't show up on my iphone. I have a Toshiba Canvio advance 2TB. How can I fix it?
Hi. Maybe is because the format. I use APFS format. If you use Windows, you can use exFat.
Hard drive may require to much energy. Try it with SSD.
My files application doesn't show the SSD
as you show it in your video.. I just want to connect this SSD to an
iPhone 13.. The SSD is
an "Inland" 1 terrabyte and I forrmated whith
my laptop as exFAT
but nothing happend.
Hi. Are you using the adapter and power cable as I showed in the video?
Do you think that this USB power adapter can work
for a SSD to see it in the iPhone 13?
EXPANSION: Instantly add 4 USB 3.0 Ports to Any compatible device. Transform a single USB port into a full work station. The extended 2 ft cable allows for the perfect set up and easy access to out of the way ports.
CONVENIENCE: LED Indicators display power status for each port. Individual on/off switches enable you to easily connect and disconnect your devices with the push of a button.
SUPER SPEEDS: Supports transfer speeds up to 5Gbps (USB 3.0), 480Mbps (USB 2.0), & 12Mbps (USB 1.1). Fast enough to transfer large files in seconds.
COMPATIBILITY: Reverse compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. Use with PC, MacBook, iMac, Mac mini, XPS, Flash Drives, & any other USB compatible devices.
EASY SETUP: No driver installation required; Plug & Play and Hot Swappable. Does NOT support charging.
Hi. No every SSD works in the iPhone. The only way to know is trying. Or wait for the iPhone 15 :-)
i cannot create a new folder in a portable ssd
Hi.You should need fix the disk permissions or format the ssd.
