I've plugged a wireless receiver into the i/o socket to connect a mouse if I need it and a bluetooth keyboard works fine - unlike the Lenevo which somehow would often garble the input. Battery life seems good. In short I'm very pleased with it

Just plug your tablet charger into the hub while the ssd is connected. big hard drives need more power.
Ok! Also, some of the hub devices out there come with an AC adapter, a power supply that gives the additional power needed by the hub itself. So would need one that supplies at least 900ma.

Yes and if the HD was already formatted such as by Windows, it may not be recognized. So it would need to be re-formatted in Exfat or the other ones mentioned in the video.

@@Pranam_Dadaji yes, as he mentioned, but keep in mind to buy a otg cable (anker has a really good one). I run myself into the problem that the sandisk extrem pro ssd did not work until i used a usb hub that has external power.

This is such basic simple stuff. Computer 101. The real question is when powering an external device with your tab, which obviuosly drains the modest battery in the tab, and your usb port now is occupied by your hub, how do you keep the tab powered?
Right. It works, but cannot keep it running for very long. So in this scenario, one would not use the tab's cable to power the USB. Would need a hub that comes with its own AC adapter. Computer 102.

Bro how to remove the USB hub safely
I just use the pull down menu (top of the screen), you'll see the USB symbol then "Android System" then an arrow pointing down. Click on this arrow and you'll see "UNMOUNT" Click this before removing the drive. I hope this helps

I hear ya buddy! Yeah, would need to format to whatever format works for both the Tablet and your other devices. And to know ahead of time so as no need to format over good data.
Tech evolved and companies make different standards over time.
Unfortunately not even all the Microsoft formats are not all compatible.
