    hello, i have a question regarding dumbell snatches. If there is a WOD where the exercize is with two dumbells (snatch), do both ends of the dumbells need to touch the floor or only one end of the dumbell needs to touch the floor?

    Her feet are totally leaving ground. If she used a heavier weight, would it be more helpful to keep her toes on the ground or not (to maintain a force being sent upward from the ground)? Once the feet leave the ground, does that stop any force from the ground and mean it’s all arm? I’ve got a friend who is struggling with this and she only feels it in her arm, and she’s jumping off the ground. I’m keeping my toes on the ground when my hips extend, but I feel the burn in my upper abs and lower body rather than arms.

      Her feet leave the ground just like with a barbell snatch. It's so she can get under the weight faster

      So? My feet lift off the ground when I snatch any weight over my head, even when I push press my feet still leave the ground even as I go higher with the weight

    The correct grip at the end is the hammer grip.
    Keep your shoulder close to your ear

      Erm no. With the “hang” you start with the weight already in your hand hanging in front of you

    I see a lot of CrossFit athletics doing dumbbell snatch with a dumbbell head facing the front, instead their palm facing the front. Is it just personal preference?

      With the dumbbell facing that way you get less pulling power with the arm but better pressing at the top and vice versa with how Julie is doing it here. Just personal preference.

      WhiteWolf77 Have you seen a circus press? It’s closer to a clean and press with the dumbbell being cleaned to the shoulder, pause, then press upwards. Opposed to the DB power snatch which is an Olympic snatch with a DB instead of a barbell

      I think that’s the proper way of dumbell power snatch. I don’t see a bad form here
