Mmm for rugby players, I would think they want to squat probably from a higher position, more related to their sport,,,, my training is 70% Olympic lifting so I am aware and perform deep squats more often than not ,,, I would assume they would do deep stretching regardless..
@@HamzaHassaan-vu5cf maybe...I've never seen such thick bumpers...I mean Pendlay 25 kg bumpers are pretty thick...but not that thick. Will be interesting to see what the answer is ( if Dane answers ).
@@TLynam Maybe those are 50kg bumpers? Not sure. I think remembering some company making 100 lb bumpers (Titan?) and they were about 5 or 6 inches thick.
Dane if you could only use those two movements (due to equipment, time, so forth) how would you program it? Could you make it work say over a full year?

They used to have 50kg bumpers. I wonder they someone started making those again.

Nice movements
I would use kettlebell swings
Most power comes from the posterior chain
Force is mass x acceleration.. accomodating resistance makes way more sense
How many reps are needed for these exercises?
Low reps (3-5) high resting time(5-8 minutes) for strength and power training is a good rule
So good for grapplers (wrestling) and MMA?
Edit: just did it today and gonna add it to my leg day
It's good for all standing up martial arts, especially for all the leg takedowns in wrestling
Olympic lifting is great for wrestling. It is pretty good for grip as well. It helped me with BJJ and Rock Climbing.
I love leg takedowns! I'll look into the power snatch@@wojciechsawicki4733
