Agreed. To this day I still remember the military training on the safety of our 1911. As you draw your weapon, your thumb must naturally unlock the safety before engaging. Drilled into us so hard I caught myself reaching for that nonexistent lever a few times. LOL
@@eytrix Sure it is. But it isn't racial, yet. It would be sinistromanualy insensitive, since that is the term for left-handedness. Indianahillclimber No round chambered huh. He is lucky that he lives to see another day. I keep on telling my two idiots brothers to chamber their guns! They said no. Okkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
John, I saw this originally in October 2016. Took a look again and it made me realize that this and all your collection of ASP videos are phenomenal, valuable, and timeless.
So, the question becomes: why are these grifters, like the maker of this video, trying to get people to use their weapons unwisely? The "defender" is a damned fool, like the narrator in the video, and it's maker, and may have gone to prison for decades if he killed the robber. You don't shoot someone unless they've hurt someone gravely or are about to do so. The robber almost blasted bystanders. Shame on this channel
Randy Wolfe Umm your pretty, what's the word, not-bright. Chambered guns without safeties go off when dropped ^_~ There could be a movie style chase scene where someone shoves you out of the way, the gun drops, lands and fires off into a child... How likely? Not very but the point of being a CCW is to be aware and prepared. Also maybe you need to run and you know gun in hand may not be appropriate, aka life well you could set it off and hurt yourself. Learn how to PROPERLY use your fire arm and then there will be minimal issues.
You are a great voice and representative of sane and balanced and educated gun ownership, as well as bringing methodical awareness to the real risks out there. I know so many people who think if they haven't seen it, it's not going to happen to them. Your approach to analyzing and cataloging so many existing videos puts people into the perspective of being involved in the event, where they would otherwise probably watch them as random youtube madness.

I applaud what he did and he also displayed why my EDC has NO safety.
I fully agree that's why I carry a Sig 220. I cannot stand safety queens that tell me not to put my finger on the trigger until I fire it. Im sorry I tell them I have much more control over my body then you do. And Im much more concerned about shot placement by NOT jerking the trigger. Thats the way the USMC taught me.
I train to sweep the safety off even when there is no safety. I have a lot of firearms. Some with safeties, some with out. I almost always carry a firearm without, but even when I draw my Glock, I sweep my thumb as if there is a safety there out of habit. I figure I might not always have the gun I prefer in the fight if something kicks off, so might as well. The only thing I might run into problems with is some strange designs like an older Walther or something where the safety works totally different.
Steve Johnson All (or almost all) your guns have safeties. Manual safeties I do not like though. I changed my HK45CT to a V3 decocker only. I need to make my Berretta M9A3 into a G version too.
As a channel I look to as consistent and educational in this domain, I'm happy you did the AAR on this - I've seen the video before, but without any commentary. Delighted with the detail-oriented breakdown here
"third in a string of robberies he had perpetrated"....... WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE STILL BREATHING FREE AIR AFTER VIOLATING OUR SOCIETY SO MANY TIMES!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
This was a superb analysis of this incident, and a good reminder of why it is always important to constantly train with your concealed handgun, especially if it has a safety. Great video, thanks.
John, I'm a woman and a big fan of your channel. Not a gun owner yet but someday I will be when I've had enough training. Your lessons are eye-opening and I never thought that a CWP was something I should have until now. Any suggestions on getting myself empty hand self defense training? I would like to be more prepared in any situation.
As CCW if you decide to take action the first thing to do is remove the safe before unholster you firearm to engage the threat. If the robber did saw him aiming just seconds before that guy could have get his self killed.
Pinky Mabinkie Did you notice 3:57, when the robber pointed his gun at the guy? That was when the guy shot. You pull a gun for a robbery, you have to expect whatever happens next is just what happens.
Richard Stockton ya and that would not have happened had the dumbass not pulled out his gun pointlessly. All he did by pulling his firearm out was escalate the situation. He made himself a target
timwins31 Yeah, he's lucky to be alive. And his wife is lucky to still have a husband. And, if they have kids, those kids are lucky to still have a father who is alive.
This channel reflects the reasons why you need to carry chambered, and carry a gun with no manual safety.. Guys in the know have been preaching this for years now... In the heat of the moment you want nothing to get in your way of firing your defensive handgun.. This guy is lucky the perp was not ready for that first draw....
ewilliamsz2099 I refuse to carry any gun with a safety.. I have been to three two day training courses.. guys forget it, ive seen it.. it's proven to have happened in gunfights... anything can be forgotten during that kind of stress.. How do you know how much training he had.. I carry appendix with a good kydex holster.. best retention for a fight and for drawing from concealment..
a friend of mine is a soldier and I asked him about this once. he told me that even in training he constantly forgets to take the safety off of his m4 in the heat of training and simulations
ewilliamsz2099 If your no comfortable with the glock/m&p style modern plastic fantastic polymer pistols you should at least consider a sig or cz with a hammer drop safety or DA/SA type pisol, paired with a quality retention holster will serve you much better than that old p95.. good luck out there.
Manual safeties are fine if you train for them. I prefer something without a safety though. I train to sweep the safety with my thumb even though all my normal carry guns have none. I figure, why not? Even if it is a Glock, it does no harm to hit the safety that is not there, ha.
That is ridiculous. The only guns that should have safeties on them are hunting rifles and target practice fire-arms. Any weapon that is going to be relied upon for self defense should absolutely not have an external safety. It's insane.
I took my CC class from a police detective who made it very clear that those of us carrying legally have a duty to protect only our family and ourselves. This guy could have stayed back and the gunman likely would have left without shots fired. In his words, he said ‘don’t go looking for trouble.’
Agreed. The bad guy could have started firing his weapon and hit the bystanders. Unless the bad guy let's a round go first, be ready to shoot, but don't be the first to fire if at all possible.
Thats exactly what i was told. You are not deputized. Dont go looking for trouble. Present only if its to protect yourself of a family member. I give this guy props for what he did, However in today's world, as someone else above stated "the good guy becomes the bad guy" Be prepared to lose it all if you pull out your firearm, even if it was morally and criminally justified.
I can't get over how people always seem to just stay right there while the incident is going on. No attempt to get away or protect themselves. Just standing there, waiting for it to be over so they can continue doing exactly what they were doing before it started. So strange. My God, if you can't stop the threat or help anyone, get the heck outta there. Bystanders get killed all the time from stray bullets.
This guy got VERY lucky he wasn't killed. For me I wouldn't have done anything in this situation. The bad guy seemed to just want the money and not to hurt anyone. I would only intervene if someone was being hurt. This could have cost him his life, and for what some business's money that is insured? To me as a ccw my duty is to protect people from serious harm, I didn't see that here. And they guy needs to be WAY more comfortable with that weapon to be carrying it.
My thoughts as well. It was brave, but stupid to attack the robber on the way out. That business isn't giving out any rewards, or couldn't care less if the ccw or anyone else got killed. He actually put innocent bystanders in harms way by taking that opportunity and angle to attack the robber. I'm all for blasting that fool, but there was a serious lack of situational awareness on the ccw's part.
sublime929 agreed, I don't see the imminent danger to him and his family, if he actually got the robber killed, he could be in big trouble; or even worse, get himself, his family or innocent ppl hurt.
Agreed...looks like "Hero!" mentality to me. In CCW classes, I have always been taught to never expose your gun unless someone is being actively hurt or clearly has intention to hurt. I'd give this CCW holder a F. He aggrivated the scenario at the end and easily couldve been killed.
Yeah I remember this, it was an Aldis the day CCW was signed in. It was the Northside of Milwaukee, as a matter of fact that Aldis tried to sue him because concealed carry was not allowed in the store.
Uh - you forgot about the criminals that carry. When they show up you can call 911 and wait 5-10 minutes for the police to show up. When they do get there, they will be making a chalk outline around bodies and counting shell casings.
DoctorLarry - For every time a "good guy with a gun" saves the day, there's about 10 incidents where the "good guy" gets shot and killed because he didn't take the safety off, or he wounds or kills innocent bystanders, or he shoots and kills the "bad guy" when there was no need to do so, like the guy was running away. We don't have the death penalty for armed robbery!
When you're up concealed firearms person, your job in every store you going it's make sure nobody goes in there and kills everybody, so when you go into a store always respect the possibility you might walk into a robbery, and you know how to withdraw your weapon from non-obvious
Kidding me?!!! More like what did the ccw holder do right? Fumbles getting his gun out, forgets to take the safety off & stands with his gun pointed for about 2 seconds. This ccw guy got EXTREMELY lucky. Anyone who has been around guns for any amount of time will tell you the same thing.
Yeah I don't agree with him getting closer and putting himself in between 2 isles like that either. He had nowhere to go for cover/concealment. Basically put himself in a bad tactical position.
Fantastic job for a newby. Problem is, most ccw carriers don't train under stress. It's a MUST for navigating a high stress situation. A gunfight is definitely that. I love your show, the videos and the lessons and advice. Keep up the good work and God bless.
Check out a video called "Wisco's first self-defense shooting after CCW law passed" where the shooter explains what happened during the robbery. He also speaks on the aftermath of the shooting and how he has been treated by the Wisconsin criminal justice system.
Autumn Rainwater2 The stupid is strong with you. The reason companys don't let their employees do anything is...wait for it...liability. The reason people commit crime is socialist/leftist have made this country shitty in certain spots. High tax rates and gun free zones with declining morality has people feeling they can take what is not theirs. And geniuses like you are all to happy to justify theft and condemn those that do the right thing. The FACT that no one got hurt is irrelevant to SJW like you.
Man I love your videos, especially this week. As a novice gun owner I’m always looking for good pointers and things that I feel that I’m doing wrong that I should fix or what to do to not hurt somebody in a situation where I’m trying to help and you always criticize where needed but most importantly commend those like this individual who may not be a special opps operator but is one who is willing to step up and defend those who were not willing to carry.. there are so many people who are so quick to crucify “ this man “ because he may have made some mistakes in hey clutch situation win does individuals don’t understand how stressful and demanding those situations can be. I love how you always command each individual for what they’ve done and recognize that they have done their duty even if they need to work on certain aspects, I don’t know anyone including the multitude of special forces and Delta operators I’ve met and befriended growing up at Fort bragg nc that wouldn’t agree they couldn’t grow from some constructive criticism or outside advice. Love the videos and commend you for your channel!
The more that civilians stand up and say (with their actions) “STOP!”, the more that these thugs have to fear from civilians, the better for that community - the thugs would probably choose less defensive neighborhoods. This is how it used to be - that a thug could not commit a crime in public without being taken down. We need to restore that civilian activism against crime and protect the vulnerable in our community. Make men MEN again.
I am a ccw holder in Wisconsin and I carry chambered ALWAYS for this reason. My carry guns have no safety. This video is a very good example. Very fortunate no one else was hurt or killed here!
I agree with you, as far as the people standing around. When there's that many people there's more of an opportunity to duck, back away and possibly get the hell out of there. As far as the CCW guy, I probably wouldn't recommend getting back into the situation when you have your family with you, but I commend him on protecting everyone else. But, he did have to manipulate his gun for a few seconds which could've cost him his life, and he did put the gun away too soon. Had that situation gone horribly wrong he could have died.
Here is yet another example of how shooting in the leg doesn't work. Cotton, the bad guy, was shot in the leg and still was in the fight. He was also grazed on the forehead. Lucky dude.
***** I'm not sure the point of your comment, but I'll try to respond the best that I can. Your comment is true, however, shooting someone to cause death is not the goal. The goal is to shoot to stop the threat. Even when shooting to stop the threat is the goal, you ideally should shoot in an area that will best accomplish that goal. The leg ain't that place.
You are the perfect example of ignorant understanding of engaging with firearms. YES! IT'S LIKELY TO KILL SOMEONE BY SHOOTING THEM IN THE LEG! However it's not at all likely to STOP them quickly. Which is the only thing that matters.
Our defender here made multiple crucial mistakes that could have indeed got him and/or someone else shot. 1 being the fact that his gun wasn't ready to fire when he first drew it, and then 2 being the fact that he put it away too soon. Stay at the ready. Still good defense and it worked out great this time, but a little more training will make him alot more effective if he is unlucky enough to deal with this type of situation again.
I love this guys presentation of the video. He breaks it down like a sports replay and review scenario. So that if it should happen to me, and I certainly hope it does not. This way I’m a little more prepared.
Fantastic job? WTF? This guy is lucky to be alive. He couldn't even shoot the fucking gun at first. If that guy immediately saw hip pointing his gun at him, the man would be dead.
He was defending everyone else. Why in the fuck would you wait for the thief to shoot? Many robberies have ended with compliant people shot. He did exactly what he felt was necessary and it happened to be the right decision.
FenceDaGreat , He didn't have a round chambered, I found an interview with the guy. I was only half watching while listening and didn't catch it. Good call
It wasn't a "safety left on issue". He stated in an interview that he learned from this experience to ALWAYS have a round chambered. A full magazine doesn't make a difference when seconds matter and no round is in the chamber.
I live in the panhandle of Florida and I have my CCW. If me or anyone else carrying we’re in the same exact position we’d be heralded a hero. I love where I live, deep deep dark red area.
He didn't need to shoot him, the guy was leaving anyway and by pulling the bun on the robber he made him point and as you said potentially shoot so therefore putting other in danger but yano
This is like a what not to do... Couldn't pull his own firearm from his waistband effectively, forgot there was a safty on the gun, brought the fire arm up and in view then brought it completely back down just to click off the safety, then proceeded to blow rounds out the window just behind the crook and into the parking lot and even after shooting at the guys back while hes running away still didn't get any fatal shots off? Get back to the gym and the range.
Michael Knauer: When I had my 9mm it was ALWAYS loaded and ready with one in the chamber. It's unwise to go unprepared because you NEVER KNOW when something serious might develop and involve the safety of your household.
I carry a Kimber Micro 380 with extended mag, one th the pipe, hammer cocked with the thumb safety engaged. Draw and thumb simultaneously then aim and fire.
Max Powers: My next handgun will most likely be a Smith & Wesson 9 mm or a Ruger 9 mm Pro. They come with a double trigger and no safety but they're very safe to handle because of that trigger design. Both hold either 16 or 17 rounds and 1 in the chamber and are pretty inexpensive. You can get the Ruger for around $350 and the S&W for around $400 at pretty much any gun store.
I have to agree. Neither the man or his wife were in danger. There was no reason for him to go back and engage the robber. I believe that as a CCW, your firearm is a LAST resort. It is for self "DEFENSE",,,, not offense.Had that situation happened to me, I would've gone to the back of the store and ducked into the employee area and teken up an defensive position while calling 911.
i have been in a similar situation when adrenaline kicks in all common sense goes out the window all the training is forgotten the only thing in your head is do something anything just do it move it may not be the right or smart thing but you don't realize what you'er doing until it's all over
Jim Allen, you mean watching Gunsmoke and Clint Eastwood movies doesn't count as training? They never miss, never misfire, never run out of ammo ect.Bad guy always loses in the movies.
The CCW guy didn’t have one in the pipe while carrying! That is why he missed the chance to lay him out. Must always keep one in the pipe! That split second could be life or death!!!
Outstanding honest video Sir as usual!!! I agree with you, he bolstered too fast, but he did good! People become in the way nuisances, and/ or distracting targets when real actions come about in life.... Yes, train, train, train, you're always correct! Peace, Power and Prosperity!
So let me get this straight. He endangered all those people's lives by shooting his own gun, as well as possibly starting a firefight, and in the process caused 2-5,000 dollars worth of property damage, knowingly involve himself in a crime as well as the following legal processes, not to mention the possibility that he actually killed the guy, all for what? prevent the guy from getting maybe $300 dollars from the till? He should never have showed his gun until lives were threatened. That was incredibly reckless.
He shot a piece of shit that had already robbed 3 places, and he stopped that man's "career" for good and all. Possibly before that piece of shit started hurting his victims on purpose. Now if you are just going to be a whiny bitch, politely go fuck off somewhere.
Keyword "Possibly". By shooting his own gun he guaranteed that people's lives were endangered. If he had simply let the robber take some money and leave, there would have been a much smaller chance of any bystander being injured or killed. Anyone there could easily see that the robber had no intention of shooting anyone. All he wanted was the money. Like I said before, that was incredibly reckless behavior. Not to mention that (at least in my state) What he did was extremely illegal. He intentionally involved himself in a crime without attempting to flee. Maybe in Florida (America's asshole) that might be considered acceptable, but in the civilized world it sure as fuck isn't.
2-5000 property damage?? until lives were threatened?? Killed the guy?? Its been a year since you wrote your comment but..well look anytime you have someone brandishing a gun...using it in a robbery...that is threatening..life threatening..so if a thug points a gun at your fat head you wouldn't consider that a threatening situation?? I'm stunned.
This is why you should always carry with one in the chamber and no safety. Your finger and brain are your safeties. All a manual one does is cost you time.
Or just train/rehearse with your specific weapon until you erase those mistakes and it becomes second nature... but yes, your finger and brain are your safeties. I know that and I've yet to even own a firearm.
I don't use a manual safety at all, don't believe in them. Common sense is the safety, don't pull the trigger it won't shoot. I keep it loaded and ready to fire at all times.
The manual safety, as long as its a good design and well placed position on the gun, will NOT cost you ANY time!!! My HK P30 safety is off before the gun is even up and on target. Due to training and muscle memory, I don't even think about operating the safety, it just becomes part of the draw in one fluid motion.
Watching this video, along with all of the senseless violence that occurred during the Trump administration, pushed me to get my CCW. Thanks for keeping us aware and vigilant. I carry everywhere now, with one in the chamber. Hoping to never need my tool, but reasonably ready if the situation just absolutely requires it. I live in WI.
This guy should have just let the robbery happen. it looks like the robber was in his way out the door with the money and the situation would have been done, but then the guy decides to escalate everything and put everyone else around him at risk. Him and his wife were allowed to get to the aisles and away, the robber wasn't interested I. harming people, he wanted money. To engage in this situation is an act of vigilantism, not self defence.
you should watch "Two Examples Show Us the Dangers of Armed Robberies at Gas Stations", that goes from "I'm complying, I'm safe, no reason to fight back" to "he's dead" in about 1 second
Johnny Wang it could happen, but shooting at him will only make him more likely to shoot, and since he's running, shoot blindly and hit someone else since there are a lot of people still in the area.
Bullshit. You never know for sure what someone is gonna do. If you're willing to bet your life that he won't still shoot after he gets the money, then you aren't that bright to begin with. If someone comes in with a gun to rob a store I'm in, they are getting shot....period. I'm not giving them the chance to shoot me or anyone else
I thought the CCW guy should have steered clear as did the other customers and not draw his piece. He was blocked in and basically not in direct line of fire from the bad guy. Sure, he needs more experience with an auto and would do better with a revolver. But did he really need to engage the bad guy? The problem with some CCW holders is the Super Hero mentality; it doesn't always work as was the case with the Wal-Mart customer who was leaving the store but decided to engage the bad guy, not knowing to cover his back. His family grieves to this day and wonders why, why when he could have left the scene. I enjoy all your videos, John, you get right into the action and analysis without the long lead-in.
Nick C Or not enough training . IF you are going to carry, un-chambered, then you have to build your instinct in racking as you pull the gun. Kinda scary though, if you are in a hurry. Then again, even cops shoot themselves in the elevator from "accidental" discharge. lol

Indianahillclimber No round chambered huh. He is lucky that he lives to see another day. I keep on telling my two idiots brothers to chamber their guns! They said no. Okkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
Tell them to watch this channel maybe that will change their mine.
Seeing the consequences as shown in the videos might change their minds, it did mine.
3nertia I don't think there are laws in the states that prevent people from chambering the guns.
Only untrained folks and newbies carry without a chambered round.
John, I saw this originally in October 2016. Took a look again and it made me realize that this and all your collection of ASP videos are phenomenal, valuable, and timeless.
this is a "What Not to do" video
Agree 100%. This should be used as a teaching tool in every concealed carry class.
@@trolltracker there is no Extra troll question. its a lesson learned for someone. also this guy doesnt "make" these videos. they are already made

Love seeing Wisconsin residents using CCW effectively, lived in Wisco my whole life so i know the issues with crime, especially in mill. Good shit
Just say "No" to safetys and empty pipes on your CCW while carrying it.
SA/DA till I die :D
Or you can just say "no" to safeties.
Say yes to revolvers?
And pull it on accsadine.
Randy Wolfe
Umm your pretty, what's the word, not-bright. Chambered guns without safeties go off when dropped ^_~
There could be a movie style chase scene where someone shoves you out of the way, the gun drops, lands and fires off into a child...
After doing some research, I found out it was not a safety issue. It was indeed that he did not have a round in the chamber. Never a good idea.
Steve Johnson All (or almost all) your guns have safeties. Manual safeties I do not like though. I changed my HK45CT to a V3 decocker only. I need to make my Berretta M9A3 into a G version too.
Jesse Sisolack Always keep one in the chamber, can never be too safe
When you realize they're in an Aldi's grocery store lol
He’s a uscca member and his story goes into more detail with the ceo of uscca on their RUclips channel.
As a channel I look to as consistent and educational in this domain, I'm happy you did the AAR on this - I've seen the video before, but without any commentary. Delighted with the detail-oriented breakdown here
"third in a string of robberies he had perpetrated".......
WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE STILL BREATHING FREE AIR AFTER VIOLATING OUR SOCIETY SO MANY TIMES!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
the law should be 3 strikes and you get executed
That's retarded. That's what they have in other countries and people are executed for traffic offenses other simple accidents.
Freedom has its downfalls. But the alternatives to freedom are much worse.
I agree..like DUIs... your third DUI should be life in prison...period
@@gizmoguyar how is that you think threatening someone's life in a robbery is the same as a traffic accident?
This was a superb analysis of this incident, and a good reminder of why it is always important to constantly train with your concealed handgun, especially if it has a safety. Great video, thanks.
John, I'm a woman and a big fan of your channel. Not a gun owner yet but someday I will be when I've had enough training. Your lessons are eye-opening and I never thought that a CWP was something I should have until now. Any suggestions on getting myself empty hand self defense training? I would like to be more prepared in any situation.
Damn I'm really seeing how important it is to keep a round in the chamber and making sure that firearm is READY TO GO AT ALL TIMES
As CCW if you decide to take action the first thing to do is remove the safe before unholster you firearm to engage the threat. If the robber did saw him aiming just seconds before that guy could have get his self killed.
He reholstered way too soon
That means, let him kill first, than react, mmmhhh

Yeah I remember this, it was an Aldis the day CCW was signed in. It was the Northside of Milwaukee, as a matter of fact that Aldis tried to sue him because concealed carry was not allowed in the store.
Phil C I thought it was a big deal cause it was near the signing. Idk I was 12 at the time.
I hope aldis caught a lot of shit for that. Every single person should have sued aldis, since they didn't agree to having guns pointed at them.
I'm thankful everyday i live in a place where crap like this almost never happens. nearly everyone carries here.
cannon m..... thats why the crap never happens
Where do you live?
cannon m - I also live in a place where crap like this almost never happens. No-one (except cops and security guards) carries here.
Sweet, I'm from Wisconsin. Nice to see that someone here actually holds a CCW and isn't afraid to use it.

yeah, perp couldve quickly used that extra second or two to put shots into him! scary stuff but luckily the robber wasnt a killer

I dont have to worry about a safety if my firearm doesnt have one lol
you're right, as always. Good analysis. Thank you, Prof. As you can see been following your channel.Lessons are immensely practical
Glad to help.
Great Video John. I love the channel.
"Covering his ASP." Active. Self. Protection. Been watching these videos for awhile and just figured that out.......

Hey John, the beard does look better shorter than it did when you grew it out. lol
Keep up with the good work btw.
Lucky dude.
VideoMorselsYeah, he was shot twice in the leg and still ran away.
Yea I hear so many people say "Why cant they just shoot them in the leg or the arm" When that a good amount of the time doesn't bring them down
*****
I'm not sure the point of your comment, but I'll try to respond the best that I can.
Which is the only thing that matters.
bob bobo , headshots are best.
This is a perfect example of someone who carries a gun to “feel” safe, but doesn’t know how to use it. Totally unprepared
He did not have a round chambered.
Here is his interview. ruclips.net/user/shared?ci=2PY0d7n9DXc
Good find
Very bad practice. Wisconsin just recently allowed CCW correct? It is not a requirement for that state is it, to have no round in chamber?
***** To the best of my knowledge, there is no requirement for any U.S. civilians to carry with a round in the chamber.
David Korr
no you got it backwards
was wondering if the state made you carry your gun unchambered if it had no external safety for example?
***** No such requirement chambered or not.
Lil Tufty , The OP is talking about how the safety and lack of training with it almost got the man shot.
Jim Allen , That's what I said
Was the safety off or was a round not chambered? Disengaging a safety should be second-nature, you do it as you get your gun into position.
Straight up buck fever there.
Carrying a revolver would take care of not fumbling with a safety.
My Springfield XDs has no safety.
watch again, i saw him rack the slide... empty chamber.
Element of Kindness I carry the same its a great gun. You have a sub compact?
He didn't need to shoot him, the guy was leaving anyway and by pulling the bun on the robber he made him point and as you said potentially shoot so therefore putting other in danger but yano
Thanks for making a channel like this, lots of great info
Way to stay calm and use your head in a hectic situation.
Good guy: 1
Bad guy: 0
Yes you shoukd engage that is someones wife, someones child, someones mother in so proud of this hero, who knows what could have gone wrong!!!
Stfu
This is like a what not to do... Couldn't pull his own firearm from his waistband effectively, forgot there was a safty on the gun, brought the fire arm up and in view then brought it completely back down just to click off the safety, then proceeded to blow rounds out the window just behind the crook and into the parking lot and even after shooting at the guys back while hes running away still didn't get any fatal shots off? Get back to the gym and the range.
Earthling exactly! Like what the fuck? This guy clearly just wanted to get his sick kicks from shooting someone
I make my kids watch every video. I am not allowed in New Jersey to carry but the lessons the channel teaches are so valuable lessons.
Great video. Many great points. Practice, practice, practice.
I love Aldi. They got some good snacks there.
that's why you don't use a gun with a safety for ccw...and always leave one in the chamber.
He should have not engaged. The same result couldve happend without the damage to the store.
I agree but it seems like the states is filled with people that can't wait to use their -toy- gun to shoot someone. It's a culture thing I guess.
Just watched a load of your videos damn good work well made.
It's crazy how still those people are... it looked like time froze and one guy was moving through the crowd.
You can tell the CCW guy is a crack shot......... Ooooops I forgot to take my safety off.
i have been in a similar situation when adrenaline kicks in all common sense goes out the window all the training is forgotten the only thing in your head is do something anything just do it move it may not be the right or smart thing but you don't realize what you'er doing until it's all over
tyranny ender should be natural after practicing. He risked people's lives. Just luck he didn't kill innocent people shooting into a parking lot.

Training, training, training with a smidge more training 😊
Jim Allen, you mean watching Gunsmoke and Clint Eastwood movies doesn't count as training? They never miss, never misfire, never run out of ammo ect.Bad guy always loses in the movies.
good thing the robber used flight and not fight when the carriers gun didnt go off
good for that guy we need many more like him instead of people just doing nothing and just watching
Shut the fuck up.
He shot a piece of shit that had already robbed 3 places, and he stopped that man's "career" for good and all.
Possibly before that piece of shit started hurting his victims on purpose.
Now if you are just going to be a whiny bitch, politely go fuck off somewhere.
Wow, what a deep, thoughtful, and intelligent response. Thank you for contributing to society.
100fredkrueger hope this is a joke,
The manual safety, as long as its a good design and well placed position on the gun, will NOT cost you ANY time!!!
My HK P30 safety is off before the gun is even up and on target. Due to training and muscle memory, I don't even think about operating the safety, it just becomes part of the draw in one fluid motion.
100fredkrueger
except the fact that he had plenty of time, but poorly managed the time taken.
Outstanding video and presentation
Keep up the good work John !
I agree. This was a very bad situation, and all about vigilantism
Agreed. And as he learned it's likely to cost you when you pull. Pull only to save life or limb. Its a bad day anytime you have to pull your weapon.
I love that he made first priority to put is wife in a safe place
Revolver = no safety
I like the revolver too. Some go with the glock, but it is just 2 darn ugly.
Nude Jawn The Glock 19 9mm 3Generation, is the sexist handgun of all handguns!
I am not a fan of the Black Guns. Maybe I'm racist.....
Nude Jawn You don't know what you missing, the Glock is calling you, "Jawn, Jawn"! lol
A co;t detective special would be awesome.
You give great information.
this look like Aldi store
What boa, i go blaka blaka.
What the fuck even is this chain of comments?
that's why I have a glock so I don't have to worry about a safety, just pull and shoot
Glock's no good if the chamber is empty.
THat's what happened to him.
Nick C
He failed to immediate action?
He racked the slide right after misfiring.
Nick C
He claimed in the interview, it wasn't chambered.
Nick C
Or not enough training .
IF you are going to carry, un-chambered, then you have to build your instinct in racking as you pull the gun.
Kinda scary though, if you are in a hurry.
Then again, even cops shoot themselves in the elevator from "accidental" discharge. lol
Nick C
A revolver is not a bad idea.
I'd carry a Ruger SP101 if I had a ccw .
He should have let him take the money. He actually could have made things worse. I have training in these things, any peace officers back me up here.
the amount of things done wrong here just radiates everywhere. it hurts to watch.
