  • Try this easy Kapha dosha breakfast recipe for optimal digestion and ease.
You can pre-make this kapha breakfast recipe the night before, then grab it ready to go in the morning. To make it even more balancing, heat it up on the stove for a warming effect.
Kapha is classically heavy, cold and dense, so this overnight oats will help balance that by bringing to balancing tastes such as the astringent, bitter, and pungent.
    1/2 of an apple, chopped
    1/2 cup organic oats
    1/4 tsp turmeric
    1/2 inch fresh ginger, grated
    fresh cracked pepper
    1 cup fresh almond milk
**Remember to eat in a calm enviornement, without distraction, for optimal digestion.
    Buen Provecho!
    Oat girl,

Oats and also cold food not recommended for Kapha, as well as not mixing fruits with other foods, consult a professional y'all!

This conflicts with what I read about kapha - not anything cold, not oats but amaranth and also not almond milk but goat milk. So confused.

Hi... love the Yoga Dosha. I am studying Ayurveda, not an expert then, but I learnt that Kapha should not eat cold/heavy meals (so oats not on a daily basis and always warm and spicy), that fruit salad not recommended because it creates a aama (1 kind of fruit at the time or at least with the same potency), same as for overnight food because it has no life force when not freshly made. What's your opinion? Thanks 🙏🏼

Hi! Yes you are correct on some. My mission is to make Ayurveda more fluid, and not so black and white. So I like to show that even food son the “avoid” list for each Dosha, can learn how to make them more balancing. Although I would suggest this daily for an imbalance Kapha, it can be doable. Oats are heavy, however combining them with fresh ginger and spices adds warmth and therefore balance by sparking the agni. Soaking oats overnight increase their digestibility and as I mention in the video it would be ideal to warm the oats up or at the very least eat at room temp. Someone requested something quick and filling on the go (although Ayurveda would never suggest eating on the go, which I mention in the vid) this is something easy to carry in a bag for a new destination. You are correct on the fruit, Ayurveda always suggests eating fruit alone. If agni is strong it is less of a problem but if Agni is weak yes it can create more ama. Apples are a astringent so a good choice for Kapha.
Thank you for inquiry. I love hearing from others who study :)

@@Clareminded thanks for replying so quickly... I love Ayurveda it is a fascinating science. So opposite to the fitness rules/diets so superveryfashion today. Years ago 10 I was a PT and used to consume all the raw green smoothies... exercising to sweat a lot... drinking 3lt water pd
...always yogurt mixed with fruit... salad... cold food... and ended up with a huge imbalance of Vata first and Kapha as a consequence. And as you know to balance Vata and and Kapha at the same time... is LOT OF FUN LOL 😆 So lucky I have an amazing female doctor/teacher whom I can ask when in doubt. Right now I am using your Vata pacifying yogadosha routine during the Vata part of the day and the Kapha one during the Kapha part. I am also not so B/W and ways try to use the potencies to warm or cool a food to balance... but still learning. Love oats. Savoury and sweet. Triphala using the same method plus triphala eyedrops (homemade) and it's a fantastic mix of plants. Thanks for your time. Let's keep creating awareness 🙏

@@francescamilani77 wow a great journey! I love Triphala for all! So gentle and cleansing. Yes vata Kapha balancing is suuuper fun 😂 I love to take it as a flow though and try my best to tune into what my body needs in each new moment, but it’s always changing! But this is what Ayurveda has helped me with. Thank you for sharing your wisdom ❤️

It should be warm though, right? And the apple peeled? And is there enough fat? A lot of questions.

HI there Claire! As kapha or a vata should we eat those oats like that, cold??

    • @Clareminded
      @Clareminded  3 года назад +3

Soaking them overnight does make them easier to digest and the spices add warmth, but warm is always best for vata and kapha. However, if you're in a pinch, opt for room temperature. :)

From what I've seen it's not good for kapha to have cold things. Thanks for the recipe.
