A few things to note:
In media where Howard is a major character (CA:TFA & Agent Carter), I have limited clips to his first and last appearances. (This excludes scenes such as giving the vibranium shield to Cap and flying into the HYDRA base.) This is so that the video isn't way too long, and also to prevent a copyright strike for using too much footage.
I have also decided not to include the newspaper in Iron Man 1 or the composite image shown in Age of Ultron as they are just photographs.
It has also been pointed out the promotional footage for the 1974 expo was actually shot in 1973. My apologies.
0:00 1943 (first Stark Expo)
1:27 1945 (finding the Tesseract)
1:56 1946 (inventions stolen)
3:32 1947 (hiring Wilkes)
4:25 1948 (starting SHIELD)
5:15 1970 (working for SHIELD/alternate timeline)
6:40 1973 (last Stark Expo)
9:57 1989 (Hank Pym quits)
11:50 1991 (leaving for trip - BARF projection)
13:28 1991 (assassination by Winter Soldier)

1941: Makes a goddamn _flying car_ that he undersells.
33 years later: "I'm limited by the technology of my time."
Seems legit
Well, he never got to make flying cars that actually worked. He was limited even in that.
@@rauliseshern He actually did. He had one in the second season of agent carter. Phil Coulsons, and furys car could also fly as well
David J “don’t touch Lola”
actually it makes a lot of sense. That line is based on real life.
The first program was written a century before the first computation machine could be made. The design of the machine wasn't feasibly possible to build til decades later. Building it was still nearly impossible. The original design ran on steam power, but at the time steam technology wasn't very developed. All the math was there, but the time period of technology wasn't.
It is the same with Howard stark, he had all the math down, but he was limited by the technology of the time period. He couldn't make the new element cause he didn't the resources to help him make it didn't exist yet. Even if he tried to develop everything himself, he would run out of time. That is what happened to the original designer of computers. He was a mathematician and scientist. He tried to make it work, but ran out of time before enough breakthroughs would allow him to finish.
It's actually really sad cause he died old and alone, never knowing that he advanced the world enormously. Even right now, people don't know his story. I won't say his name, cause you either aren't interested to learn, or you might go out and figure out who i am talking about.
@@yummychips_ Ada Lovelace or Charles Babbage. I forgot about it, I read about them somewhere a long time ago.
I never realized that when he's getting murdered, he goes "Sergeant Barnes!?" because the whole world thinks he's dead in 1991, including Stark.
Can you imagine the mindfuck on that? Not only does the world think he's dead, but he hasn't been seen for 46 years by then, and it looks like he hasn't aged since then.
Could you imagine if he was alive when Cap came out the ice? After thinking he was dead for almost a century? Damn. Feel bad for him. He saw Bucky alive only for Bucky to kill him. I know he was brainwashed and captured by Hydra. But Howard didn't know. He must have been so confused. As to how he's even alive. After all those years thinking he was dead. And why he's even trying to kill him. He didn't even get to tell anyone. And he died still not knowing that Cap was still alive in the ice all along. Just waiting to be saved.

@@nadimabbas4093 That's what I just said
I really wish the MCU had let us see how Howard turned from the man Peggy and Steve knew into the man Tony knew
I guess some mystery makes it feel more real.
Maria changed him
Same!
The 1970 scene in 'Endgame' definitely helps with that, showing Howard pre Tony's birth we get to see that he's still got some of the swashbuckler charm of his youthful version that you don't see later on when Tony is a child or teenager. If ever possible, we probably just need one more scene of Cooper's Howard meeting Maria and how that moved him into a more mature, stiff attitude...
@@jonnbridges I agree. I miss Cooper's Howard

The murder of Tony's parents, one of the darkest scenes in the MCU
@DeltaGem I know but it's not as detailed. With Tony's parents you actually see them agonizing before Bucky kills them while Stark watches and learns that Steve knew who the killer was all along
DeltaGem He said one of, not THE darkest scene.
@DeltaGem We are also closer to the characters who died and got to find out the truth when Tony did
@DeltaGem Well, thats what made it more shocking. We followed Tony through his story and knew that they died in a car accident (which is also the story Tony knew) and we got to experience the truth with Tony and since we were connected to Tony through his story, we felt for him
They did him (tony) very dirty one and only reason i civil war is not my favourite.
Ahh memories, i miss jarvis
Howard Stark how are you aliveee
Sure bud
How much does it cost to kill Howard and Maria stark?
1 buck
U know that ur hated son, tony uhh yeah he is dead
Meylan Kaniah what does that have to do with anything?
Stark was a good man that wasn't a good father. Tony was a great man, who was a good father, but had to leave.
Grammar, man
Actually, Howard was a good, not great, but good father but Tony didn't perceive it that way. He got closure in Endgame when his father said "that kid hasn't been born yet but there isn't anything I wouldn't do for him". Also, if you think about it, Howard saved Tony's life by leaving him the plans for the new element. Howard didn't know it at that time but he still left Tony with a "stepping stone to something greater", according to Fury. Tony never noticed that his dad actually cared because his dad was always busy and talked about Cap a lot and Tony perceived that as favoritism. It wasn't until Iron Man 2 that Tony knew his father actually loved him and cared about him.
howard was always busy looking for cap and that makes him a bad father. i guess
Howard tried his best
I feel like he didn’t understand how to be a father in the first place. Too swept up with his work. And I think he knew he fell short as a father. Hence the talk with Nick Fury. Nick showed Tony how much his father cared for him. Howard set Tony up for a good future, reaffirming his love for Tony, and I think in the end Tony understood that.
I still don't understand why Agent Carter was cancelled, Peggy, Jarvis and Stark make a good team.
You want see Maria Stark

I have a theory, i think it's because capitan came back to the past, then almost all the things that happened on the TV show doesn't really happened on the "real world". I think that because the season one of the series was filmed in 2016, and thanos appeared in the avengers in 2017. Maybe it's a crazy theory, but kind makes sense, don't you think?

Young Howard Stark hits different 🥵🥵😍😍
Ngl that scene at 8:30 changed everything for me aside from chuckling a good bit. This is when they decided to truly personify Howard and it was amazing. Casting John Slattery was again, a top-notch casting decision
The CGI in these movies are amazing. It's so cool how they can make characters who are old, look 30 years younger, and characters that are young look so much older but still keeping all the same facial features that make them still look like themselves
In that scene child Tony appears, he would be 4 years old. The same age as Morgan in Endgame. It's pretty easy to see how different Tony's parenting and Howard's parenting are.
I think Howard didn't mean to be a bad father, but he also didn't know how to be a good loving one either. So he raised Tony with the best intentions in mind for his future, but never acted or showed his love in a plain to see way.
Howard was a good man but a bad father. And I think that’s what made Tony be so loving with Morgan, he knew that good intentions weren't enough, he had to show it.
I guess getting a crash course on how to deal with a superpowered teenager before Morgan was born didn't hurt. It certainly must have helped Tony with regulating his emotions in the face of the messes and other stuff actual normal children usually do.
I mean, what's a living room coated in flour or paint or scribbles in the wall or even a toddler's temper tantrum in the face of dealing with a teen who tried to hold a ferry cut in half together, was lectured because of it and then later crashed a plane?
I just think it’s really neat that Hank Pym is one of the few people to openly oppose Howard Stark. Man’s got balls.

He didn't treat Tony harshly, he was just very hard-working. Also, at the time they had Tony, it was normal for fathers to focus on work while the mothers stay at home looking after the children.
Back in 2015 I was in my first year of college, majoring in communications and the building was the same of with other courses like cinematography and arts, I remember how we used to study the fact that the Marvel Studios movies were revolutionary in their formula of continuity (and nowadays with the multiverse). They were massive beasts of making movies converse with each other and they always brought connections, even tho sometimes, distant by years... It's beautiful. Yes they are not perfect, yes there are some minor continuity errors, but look at it, it's massive. In 2028 it will be 20 years of Marvel Cinematic Universe since the first Iron Man in 2008.
