I didn't cry watching this, but when I explained the plot to my wife, I was struggling not to choke up. I am 32 male, and it's been more than 10 years since I've had a cry.
So an update, yesterday I finished work early and was home by myself. I had some time before I had to pick up my kids from school so I opened youtube and this was in my 'watch again' list. So I watched it again. I closed my eyes and cleared my mind and just listened. When she said "Suki desu!" I started crying. I cried for a while. When I was 19 I worked in Japan and one of my colleagues confessed to me. It was sudden and out of no where. We were friends but never met outside of work. I was happy but I had my girlfriend (now my wife). Life takes us to different places, the only way we can steer through it all with is with all the people in our lives. Life is a journey and not one you make alone.
This was the anime the really showed me that’s it’s ok to cry. I’m now ridiculously emotional, but I have this anime to thank for who I am now. I’m only 15 but I know this anime will live with me forever.
All the friends I ever had done text me anymore. And they were basically my only hope so idk what to do now. Best i can do right now is keep my head up. Exactly what I’m doin

Not too long ago I've had to block all my emotions out. It all started in 9th grade when a friend of mine passed away. I got cold. 2 years later the girl that I loved with every fibre of me decided she didn't love me back anymore. Then last year my uncle passed. And I had to shut down. Just so I could stay strong for my aunty, my father, my sister, my mother and my cousins. I forced myself not to even cry at his funeral. He was a second father to me so I had to kill such a huge part of myself in order to be strong for everyone. Nothing phased me. Then came along this new girl. Whatever little emotion I had reignited a bit. She was so lovely. A dream. Then she too decided she didn't love me anymore. I was nothing but a mere choice to her in the end. As I am now, I am dead inside. I have no joy or love or passion for anything. I watched this anime recently and it made me hurt. I knew the pain of always losing something you love...I watch this scene sometimes just to remind myself that I'm alive. Just so I could feel a little. And I hope one day, I will be able to, all on my own.

I just realised how amazing it`s voice acting is. When Kaori says her 2nd and 3rd "Ski desu", her voice sounds so natural that it even rumbles, I guess it`s what made this scene so emotional. 7:50
This is my go-to show for when I need a cry. Rewatching it hits even harder when you realize everything she is doing and just the selfless love she had for him; them really never getting to say the words I love you in person.
This anime hit so different its one of those anime that let me travel a different world not many anime can do this im glad I watched it knowing nothing about the story this will forever be one my top Anime ❤️
Fr I went in blind not knowing anything and then I loved the opening so I was vibing but, when the story started it settled me down for hours and hours. I couldn't stop watching. I snuck on my phone in school to watch. It was escalating at first but then the end hit me hard I was out of it for a good 3 months. It's amazing I felt like I was there
This scene is so deeply burned in to my soul if i close my eyes i can see this scene like it was the first time i watched it. This and clannad is the only anime where i had to take a break before watching anything again
