Seeing it more than 20 years later and realize that this game it’s the reason why i’m in the automotive business, race cars, trackdays and all this stuff… Those exotic ruf, venturi, twr, escudo, made me start to investigate about this world when i was a kid. The rest is history…

I still remember, after JUST managing to not play this when it turned up in the post and I could bring it to my mate’s house so we could all play it for the first time…when the Alfa 155 appeared and we all four jumped up off the sofa at the same time cos we’d all watched them on TV in the touring car championship. Days of pure joy.

My first memories of my first racing game ever was this intro when i was 3 and daaamn its soo much better then us version thank god to my dad for introducing me to loving world cars and bikes

I think Gran Turismo opening gives me goosebumps because it was the first console I owned and it absolutely blew me away, and got me into cars.
This one blew me away because I was into cars, working with cars and stuff…and it was like a natural evolution. Amazing - goosebumps twenty years later.
Gran turismo 1 had a very special intro.
Developers really had to come up with something out of this world to beat it. I think they achieved that.

When was it that intros lost their soul? This is still awesome. One of my favourites with the silent hill 1 and 2 intros.
Love every car love every track love every song and all the defects make this game perfect. I miss it so much.
I'm starting to wonder if the USA release got the original song and not this amazing remix.... thanks for posting this before I lost my mind thinking it was a Mandela effect.

One of the best ever game intros...second only to the GT1 intro with the Chemical Brothers.
Back then, those cars looked so realistic to me. God I loved that game, not least because of the awesome music.
They still look pretty damn impressive despite being what... 16 years old or so? The cinematic graphics, at least.

GT2 and GT3, the best entries of the series. They‘ve made them with passion. I hope that GT7 can catch that vibe with the returning GT Mode.

I dunno, there's something to me about the faster tempo of the song along with the sound of the projector running with the old footage from F1 and LeMans that makes me love the US version so much more

In hindsight, My Favourite Game should've been a dance track from the start, if you look at what came out in the wake of this game.
then you realize that GT2 and 3 are 2 years apart yet look similar yet way different
Believe it or Not GT3 was being worked on before GT1 was launched, that's how the fmvs for 1 and 2 were done
Gt3 was garbage .. but then gt4 was a whole new story, it exceeded all expectations gt4 was da bomb

Played the hell out of GT2 back in the day. My dad got a copied version off his work mate. And i never realised untill a few years ago that the version i had was the US version 😂 playing it on my chipped PAL ps1.
Heh. Similar thing here, only i had the pal version game. Still got the ps1 but i mostly play on an emulator now for the improved graphics and performance.

I want them to make a GTRetro game with graphics a bit like this, all weather, time of day etc. all classic tracks and more new tracks not from real life that really make u feel like ur playing a game.

Giving us the chance to experience the GT universe in an all out fun way.

Gt2 and gt4 was so good, the number or cars is crazy like being able to get say a 1.4 civic and a type r.. just looked you can get 15 civics.. lucky if you can get two on modern games 😂

Still today, probably the most complete, amazing, balanced GT in a golden automotive age; against the opinion of the most, the graphics are not all that matters to do a legend=so get out GT3, most of your success had to be payd especially to THIS title.

Must say after seeing the US and Japanese intros, we got the most "Meh" out of the 3. Dunno why the techno rework of the US version with the theme.

Both the ntsc and the eu versions are great, but you can't beat the eu's intro soundtrack, too bad that it gets tainted by the actual in game ost, and this intro song should've replaced Fatboy Slim's fucking in heaven with the faithless remix of The Cardigans, My Favourite Game, it would've made racing so much better
