I want anyone who’s never knitted before to know that it’s 100% possible to knit this sweater! Aside from the superb instructions that come with the pattern, these videos are top notch at describing how to do these stitches and cables! This is the first sweater I’ve ever knitted and it’s coming along wonderfully!
These are the BEST Italian bind off instructions on the entire internet. Thank you so much. I am just finishing off Salty Days. Lovely pattern..much admired even though I haven't finished yet. 😊
This is just the perfect pattern for an adventurous beginner like me. Everything is so well described and then the videos help with all the details. I am still working on the body and love the work with my gorgeous soft yarn.
I’m absolutely loving this KAL. It’s so challenging for me as I’ve never done cables before, but your explanations here on RUclips and in the pattern itself make it so clear and understandable. Loving the Ravelry group as well and seeing everyone else’s projects. I really hope you do more KALs in the the future too ❤
I'm not quite ready to do this project yet, but I appreciate getting to see your sweater pattern done from the top-down. Just waiting for your book to arrive and then I want to try out a sweater to 2. Thank you for doing this knit along.
Thank you, Kika! Your tip for keeping track of where you are in your Italian bind off is so useful! I have managed the Italian bind off before, but only by keeping close track of where I was. If I lost my place, I had to undo a bit until I could figure out where I was again. Now hopefully I'll be able to see where I am without undoing anything.
This project is so much fun to knit. I am new knitter (only 4 months knitting) and I decide to accept the challenge, boy I am so glad I did it. The sweater is coming along so beautiful ❤
Thank you Kika! I'm a little farther behind in the KAL but I just finished the gauge swatch from line 25 and it was surprisingly easy to follow the cable pattern. However, for anyone still struggling with it, I started using the app knit & note for this project and it allows you to open up as many row counters as you want! It's been super helpful for me since I'm using my one physical row counter for a different project. I'm sure other apps have a similar feature!
Thank you Kika.💖 I absolutely LOVE this Arctic Light Sweater!! Great pattern, with fantastic instructions! I am excited to be a part of the KAL. I am still knitting the yoke, but excited to watch Part 2, and knit this next part.
This sweater is the best. I just finished it and i am over the moon about the result. I knitted it with scrumptious from Scheepjes and although that yarn is thinner than in the pattern it just came out wonderfull! It has a great faminine fit. I am going to wear it a lot! Thank you for putting all the efford in, the pattern ánd the videos to go along with it. That helped a lot and made knitting easy!
Hello Kika. Thank you so much for this visual tutorial. I'm loving this pattern of yours. I'll be taking it with me on the plane to Jamaica today. All of your videos are so pleasant to watch. I first discovered you while watching your wedding dress make. What a delight that was. I'm excited for your new addition to arrive. Life will change for you in beautiful and wonderful ways. Happy birthing experience. All the very best, Dorothy
I'm already planning the next two arctic lights in different colours! LOVING this pattern - only up to the sleeve separation but I really do need one in every colour lol.
Thank you so much I’ve been awaiting for Part 2 because this is my first sweater project. Been done beautifully with Part 1 thank you deeply for the crystal clear Tutorial and pattern 💖🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🙏. Now I’m going to follow you here to start my Part 2 🫶
I really love your videos! I wish I was ready to join the knit along but have the pattern and your book. I plan to do your dip socks then the cloud sweater. I hope to cast on the Wishbone to improve my cable skills then cast on this beautiful pattern❤
Dear Kutovakika, I know you are having many projects going on so this is just a very little wish I’m sending to you :). I’ve been done with the body knitting of this beautiful sweater but I can not start with the sleeves and finish because I’ve never knitted a sweater before. I hope to see your part 3 instruction soon . Thank you so much. Buddhas bless you and your loved ones 🙏🌹🍀🌞
Ich finde Ihre ganzen Arbeiten wirklich sehr schön. Ich verstehe kein Englisch da ich es nicht in der Schule hatte. Bei uns war Rusisch 🤦♀️ braucht kein Mensch. 😘❤️❤️❤️
I definitely would come to Finland just to knit with you! ❤ you seem like a fun and lovely person to be around 😊 Also I am going to knit this sweater one day 😅
There’s an easier way to remember the Italian bind off. If the first stitch is knit, you go through purlwise, take the stitch off and go into the next stitch knitwise and keep it on. And similarly if the first stitch is purl, you go in knitwise, take the stitch off and go into the next stitch purlwise and keep it on. So basically “knit,off-purl,on” and “purl,off-knit,on” are the magical words. Makes it so much easier to do in almost every way
You are adorable! Love your enthusiasm and joy with knitting. It is contagious! What brand bamboo needles do you recommend? I bought some but they were off about .5mm per set. Do you have a favorite bamboo set? Also, you seem to use a lot of long needles. How do you recommend to sit with these? Thanks so much! Really enjoy you!
I think this is so usefull Kika..we need this demonstrations because for me looks so difficult...that seeing It you want yo try...I Will try...I have your book but we need to see how ti do It. Thanks!
You are such a sweet person! Will there be men and children sizes in the future? I love this sweater so much! I’m so curious about what yarn you used this time and what wood needles you are using. Such beautiful cinematography with your camera, so many beautiful soft bokeh effects on your sweater in the background. I’d love to know what camera you used too. I’ve heard of Italian bind off but have never seen it before, a huge thank you for teaching how to do this from beginning to end. I will definitely buy the pattern but I’m pretty sure this will take me years to finish (I wish I could tension my yarn with my left index finger, I need to practice!! Sending love to you both from California. (Can’t wait for the sleeves!) Happy belated Valentine’s Day ❤❤
I got into the learning how you have added those 8 stickehes for the underarm... and although l made not raglan changes for the sleeve, l shall try to make the separation for the body from the sleeves. I hope that even though l only added stiches that l will cover sleeves largeness, it will look decent! Have you ever not consider making those sleeves raglan markings in particular? And just add stiches? Plain?
Hi - I have this sweaty on my list to knit and I am also wondering where we could get your new pattern Salty Days, is it available to purchase as well. I did not see it on Ravelry.
Practice! Learn how to knit and purl then practice each special stitch before starting the project. Also read the pattern in a quiet room serveral times. Watch the video as your knit the pattern. I did all this and I finished the yoke. Working on the body now
hello.... where l can find all patterns for all your pulls, please? l saw one yellow on you, one white with brown models etc...one , or two bej, it s a book with all thouse? where on amazon??
How would I be able to modify it to be longer? I love longer sweaters to wear with leggings but sometimes have a hard time finding one that I like the style of that is long enough. I love the cables and textures so was hoping there was some way to figure out how many rows I'd need to add to get the length so I can buy the right amount of yarn. You can probably tell I'm a pretty novice knitter (just started in Nov 22).
As established shouldnt start at row 25 for everyone i THiNK. Huge beginner, but got a little confused at that. Xs - medium end in a multiple of 4, but everything large and over needs to start as established on a multiple of 4 (maybe row 24) bc it ends for me on 69
this project is technically unsuccessful. The sweater looks like its younger sister. The armholes of the sweater have a very tight cut, which means they cut in under the arms. It's real torture. The mistake is - this is my opinion - you have to throw the yarn on one line of raglan and knit it on the other line. The raglan line is then free and does not drag the rest of the setter. I tested it on sets made from the top. When a thread is pulled out and worked in raglan, it stiffens the rest of the sweater. I don't speak English, I'm writing through a translator, so I don't give English expressions for knitting. This is just my comment, not criticism. Greetings from Poland, Aleksandra

I used 4 needles....and now I'm unravel....you have right the 5mm would be the best choice. But it is the best pattern I 've ever knit.
I really love your videos! I wish I was ready to join the knit along but have the pattern and your book. I plan to do your dip socks then the cloud sweater. I hope to cast on the Wishbone to improve my cable skills then cast on this beautiful pattern❤

Love the stitches but I need narrower sleeves. What do you suggest?
Hi - I have this sweaty on my list to knit and I am also wondering where we could get your new pattern Salty Days, is it available to purchase as well. I did not see it on Ravelry.
How I can learn from zero to your level 😭
Practice! Learn how to knit and purl then practice each special stitch before starting the project. Also read the pattern in a quiet room serveral times. Watch the video as your knit the pattern. I did all this and I finished the yoke. Working on the body now

Are you going to down a needle size to reduce flair for the sleeves?

Hi I cannot wear mohair. Can I just use the DK yarn.? I may not knit this sweater this year but other knitter may wonder
Yes you can absolutely leave out the mohair and just use a DK yarn :)
❤
Absolutely gorgeous sweater, but looks too complicated for me.
As established shouldnt start at row 25 for everyone i THiNK. Huge beginner, but got a little confused at that. Xs - medium end in a multiple of 4, but everything large and over needs to start as established on a multiple of 4 (maybe row 24) bc it ends for me on 69
I agree. I am knitting the large one and after the yolk there should definitely be a row of ‘cabling’.
What yarn brand and colour did you use for the yellow green sweater in the beginning of the video? 😍
I have the same question.
Does anyone know what chest this goes up too ?
😍🇧🇷👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🍂
Can’t find part 1 of this . Pl help . Thnx
O ho I got it
Witam 🤗 ładny sweter. Sweterki robię tylko od dołu.Nie wychodzi mi robienie swetra od góry.

This sweater is beautiful but too much for me. I’ll love to make something with less motif.
Dommage que le patron n'est pas en français 😢
Why you dont start with the start...
Because this is part 2

Hello! Could anyone share your favourite method of starting top-down sleeves? I followed a few videos and still had holes every time 🫠 kill me
