Just brings tears of joy to my eyes to see this young person carrying on the tradition of her grannies and you can see how it's in her whole make up. Thanks for sharing this!
As a patron of yours who just turned 24... it’s so nice to see someone my age on the show! I’m in awe at Lauren’s talents! Please keep featuring young knitters for segments - there are so many people who would love to share their knitting!
Oh my goodness! Lauren's talent and dedication is just the most incredible to see. What a lovely, lovely segment. Thank you for highlighting her. It's so nice to see young people interested in the old crafts.
Dear Andrea and Andrew. Your episodes are getting better and better :-) I am just back from a two weeks´vacation in Italy and the first thing I had to do after work today was to start watching.......while I made dinner :-) Glad to hear that both of you are well again.
Thank you Andrew and Andrea for teaching us so many areas of knitting through your videos. You have taken me places I have never dreamed of. I can't wait to buy my Shetland Bear, and to knit Shetland jumpers with Hazels videos I ordered. And, it was so great to see Lauren, already such a master at her craft & proudly carrying on the tradition. I love Shetland so much now. Thank you so much for taking us there.
What a wonderful episode and so very rich and packed with goodness. I actually had to watch it in two sittings, to get it all in. :-) I love Hazel so much. Wow, she is a gem! And that bright blue sweater with the mandala style circle on the back is absolutely stunning. I would wear that in a heartbeat. I also liked the young lady with the lacing. She is really sparkling with enthusiasm and joy about her craft. And she is so very gifted! We will surely hear from her again in the future many times. So good to know that the youth is picking up on old traditions, especially when they are such good ones as knitting and crafting wonderful garments and things. Crafting really unites the whole world and is a very important part of peace keeping and spreading love and joy.
This episode was like a mini documentary of the history and future of Shetland knitting__LOVED IT, especially, seeing the absolutely stunning work Lauren does, and the beautiful view of the sheep herding and music to compliment the scenery! Thank you for your dedication to the art form of all things knitting! 💖😺
Fabulous show, thanks! I need to get a knitting belt.😊 I have my great-great grandmother’s rocking chair that has grooves worn into the wood in each arm where her knitting needles rubbed against the wood over years of knitting. So happy I can knit and carry on the tradition!
Hazel - you are so right about the difference in your posture when using circulars! I never put that together, but it makes so much sense. That point alone is going to help me enormously. Thank you!!
I like the new ending. I was one who would skip through the list of people at the end- sorry! But this one has all the musical attributions, and a thank you to all the patrons without the endless (it seemed) list of individual names. I so enjoyed hearing Hazel speak about knitting, and I liked watching her knit, too!
I have just realised that I seldom watch terrestrial television anymore and It is because of programmes like this. I really enjoyed this episode . It was wonderful. The interviews were inspiring and informative. I loved the section on the Burra bears. I also didn’t notice Andrew’s arm . I have always wanted to visit Shetland and until I do you have given me a taste. Thankyou
I might say this every episode, but THIS is my favorite one so far!!! Absolutely LOVED the sheep herding scene... Thanks again for your beautiful content.
I always enjoy your programs, but this one was exceptional. Thank you for all the work that goes in to make such professional, interesting and inspiring programs. Lauren is a wonderful young talent. I hope you find more like her. Thank you Andrea and Andrew

Thank you for another close look at Shetland Wool Week. It is a goal for me to travel there in the next couple of years and stay a bit longer so I can learn more about the place, the people, and the craft of the area. It is always a pleasure to see the fine work that the knitters do there. Thanks for the interviews, the shots of the beautiful scenery and of the events. I’m looking forward to the next couple of episodes so we can see more of the footage you collected while there.

I was so thoroughly engrossed in what Hazel was doing and saying, I didn’t notice Andrew’s hand until I watched it a second time and looked for it! ☺️ I’ve wanted to support Fruity Knitting for over a year now but having pledged support to another podcast, I didn’t feel I could afford it. After some soul searching, I realize how much enjoyment you bring into my life and I really need to become a patron! Your podcast is one of my very favorite ones; and I never get tired of watching past episodes. 🥰
Very interesting. I especially liked the episode with the lady from the Danish island 😍🌈👏 wonderful to hear about all the global influences in the very bright designs. Amazing 💚🐏🐑🐏🐑🐐

What a wonderful issue...I loved Lauren’s knitted lace. I can imagine that her grandmother is so proud of her. I’m very impressed with her. The video you got of the sheep is top notch, Andrea, I love it. I’m just sorry you had to suffer to get it! The teddies are are adorable and what a wonderful way to recycle. I’m going to watch this episode again and again! Thank you....Candice.

wonderful episode; it was wonderful to meet Andrew on the ferry and also on our walk along the Lerwick waterfront. Hazel Tindall interview was lovely to listen to and learn. Have bought her DVDs. Cathie (one of the four Canadian ladies you met!)

Wonderful episode. Thank you for highlighting this time honored art form in all its complexity and the people in the global community. I learn with each episode.
Another great episode. Loved the play of Lauren's segment (relatively new expert knitter) with the interview with Hazel Tindall (master knitter) - the continuation of the skills passed between the generations in the community. Can hardly wait to see Andrew's Bird's Eye lace!
Wonderful episode as always. I need to add a trip to Shetland Wool Week to my bucket list now. I love the teddy bears and great interview this episode! 💜
Hello from Tennessee USA! I love your show. I'm so happy to have watched your story about the lady that makes bears. I made memory bears for many years. I've got a Facebook page if you want to see them. Memory Bears and Moore. It's such a wonderful way to hold onto something that has memories attached. Thank you for sharing the story. 😊. Looking forward to more from you. .....Nola😊
Lovely episode! It is always a pleasure to watch Hazel Tindall in all her kindness and knowledge. And it was better using the all the time spent on showing patreons' names at the end of the episode to show more content instead.
This podcast was absolutely fabulous. I love every moment and the music was just perfect. I plan to go to Shetland Wool Week next year and you have lovingly enabled me even more to make this journey. I love your wool rose sweater...pattern? Thank you so much for all the work you both put into these podcasts.
I love this episode as I do all others, but each one gets better and better. I did get here and see I had to subscribe again and mark bell for all again. I know a lot of people are losing subscribers because of new algorithm rules. I wanted to give you heads up. I also reloaded page to make sure I was still subscribed after subscribing again, and I again had to subscribe and click bell and choose my setting..
twanablevins I hadn’t heard about this regarding subscribers, but great to know! Would also explain why I’ve been gaining and losing subs for a week or so now. Glad you’ve found a channel you love!
Andrea, I am sorry to bother and I know you haven't been well but I and my husband have been trying since we saw Christel Seyforth on Fruity knitting to get her book Fanostrik to no avail. Can You point us in the right direction please? We both love your Chanel and you and Andrew are so refreshing and entertaining.I love the chemistry between you both. Well done. Many thanks Susan.x

thank you so much for this lovely Episode!! I love fruity knitting!! Is it possible to know how to knit your beautiful sweater with the flowers that you're wearing at the last interview with Hazel tindall ? Thank you !!
Wonderful to see you both looking so refreshed and happy after going to Shetland! Wonderful episode, I agree with the other commenters that it was so nice to see different generations of Shetland knitters. Loved the shots of the gorgeous scenery. On a technical point, would it be worthwhile to invest in a boom of some sort to hold the camera for top down shots to prevent camera shake? :)
Great episode and please would you post the name of the Shetland book of lace as the light was reflecting off the cover and I cannot read the name. It is my heart's desire to make a Shetland lace shawl for old years. Thank you
There was a reference to a book about vintage Shetland knitting. Could you identify it and the author? Thank you for all your efforts in making this such an outstanding series.
The knitters features in this episode were so impressive.
Just watching this and feeling like this beloved sweater that Andrew is wearing would make a wonderful memory bear. We miss you Andrew

A lot of people think Prince Charles is crazy...but he’s a very wise man. The Wedding jacket is the reason that I bought the Christel Seyfarth book.
Really enjoyed the patron only video from Hazel Tindall on her two handed fair isle technique. Makes me laugh how fast her "slow" knitting is.
Wonderful episode. Thank you both💕
Yip, I found dat you hae tae move da stitches far mair aften wi da circular needle asweel. Xxx

1:11:00 I slowed the speed of the video to 0.25x and that's still about 4 times faster than I can knit 😂

Hi Elaine, we were travelling via airplane with our equipment, as it was most of our luggage was filled with recording equipment.
@@FruityKnitting oh yes, I didn't think about that! Ah well, makes for a humorous anecdote!

What is the pattern for the hat/beanie they are all wearing? It is so cute. I want to make one.
wow- it IS four inches, one 'knuckle" ( i just measured with my middle finger) that's so cool to know.
Nice
I love the jumper that you are wearing in the Hazel Tindall interview. Can you please tell me if you designed the pattern?
Hi Sharon, no it's a Marie Wallin design.
Thank you. The colours really compliment your hair colour.
I agree Sharon. I am definitely making that. Its gorgeous.
Lovely.
Why not get Andrew to knit some lace ornaments for the Christmas tree?
Hey where did those chaps in the Fairisle sweaters get their kilts from at 10.18 my husband would look good in one of those ...
We don't know that, but you might want to watch this: ruclips.net/video/fr2yTGgyocU/видео.html

Hi Paula, you could message Hazel and ask her.
There was a reference to a book about vintage Shetland knitting. Could you identify it and the author?
Thank you for all your efforts in making this such an outstanding series.
It looks like the book pictured at 30:00 is "Heirloom Knitting: A Shetland Lace Pattern & Workbook" by Sharon (?) Miller if that's the one you mean
When knitting lace try to use “lifelines” where you can do them.
Notice a lot of sheep hats.....is this hat pattern avaible?..deb
