I started knitting 4 months ago and I decided to take this challenge. I am so happy I did, my sweater is coming along so nice and with Kika’s instructions is being super easy to accomplish this design!
I bought my yarn, appropriate needles, and downloaded the pattern! All done today~ 🥰 Now let's see how many years from now before I finish the project. 😊😅 Sharing an update! I finished my Artic Light Sweater on November 18 🥹🥹🥹 I timed myself and I worked approx 148 hours, including the times I had to undo rounds to fix mistakes 😅 this is probably the biggest and most complicated project I have finished. I just need to block it and then it is totally done. 😁
I was looking for a comment like that! Thanks for sharing the total time 😊 I just started and already had to undo first 3 rows of the pattern because I slipped 1 loop in reglan and I could not fix that. 😂
Ah, that is so good. I'm a beginner knitter with only knitting socks, Scarfs and easy small projects. I wanted always knit a sweater, but also with a nice cables- and that was also the problem, the cables :D Now I have no excuses
This is one of THE most beautiful cable knit sweaters I’ve ever seen. I’ve been swatching for it this week, but I want to find the perfect combo because this is the sweater I’ll be buried in, I swear.
Hello - I am so glad I am watching this channel - rather than a norm podcast where finished projects are shared - I truly enjoy your tutorial podcast. It is helping me understand the different stitches as I am a visual person. THANK YOU SO MUCH. PLEASE continue your tutorial as I am sure it is helping people like me. It is an adventure. Truly love your tutorial. and also the designs of your sweaters. Stay safe.
What a great video - super helpful to see exactly how you do the stitches, sewing the collar, etc. I'm really a visual person so I needed this. Thanks, Kika!! And that blue colour, for the sweater, will match your eyes beautifully! 😊🥰
I am so in love with the design. I've never done cables before, so honestly I have the feeling it will take me for forever, but with this step by step KAL it looks so doable. But it still will be a big challenge for someone who only has knitted easy sweater patterns. The most difficult thing was half brioche all over... Let's do it! Happy knitting to all those who knit along.
Update: I was struggeling with the gauge swatch because I've read the tip to do it with left and right stitches. I wasn't sure what to do with the cable stitches on the wrong side (now I know that i just have to purl them), so I've tried the tip. But withouth a cable in the swatch it's not possible to achieve the correct gauge. So, I almost gave up the whole project. Now, a few months later I know what to do and will start againg. 💪 If anyone is struggeling too: You can do it.
To new knitters like me: please don’t be intimidated of the complicated look of the beautiful sweater. I’ve only knitted 2 scarves so far in my life I’m that new knitter. But I found this sweater so beautiful so I bought pattern and knitted away, following Kutovakika’s detailed instructions on videos and in pattern. It’s so amazing. I still can’t believe I’ve made it almost to the end of the main body already. And reading by chart is so much easier than reading by written down rows which is very easy to make mistakes so I’m very thankful that this pattern was written in charts so easy to follow. Only one thing Kutovakika should revise: Chart A Body Pattern repeat starts from row 25 to 36, but the main middle cable twist on row 25 should be switched to 4/4LC then after 3 rows it’s 4/4RC on row 33 (only for repeat part, not on the first 25-36) because row 33 and 25 both show cable twist 4/4 RC. After that just do the twist on opposite side every 3 rows. I’ve revised it and the pattern is perfect. Kutovakika you should put a Thank you button on this video so everyone who loves and appreciates your contribution to the knitting society could invite you a coffee 🌹🙏🫶. I hope in the near future you’d teach us how to knit a fitted vest (to wear at office with a collar shirt) that would be perfect 🙏. Now I’m so awaiting for your video of how to block this beautiful sweater to get the look like your sweater 😻😻😻. Thank you so much. Greetings and Thanking from Vietnam :)
Oh my goodness! I am so happy you made this video because iI really wanted to make it but was a bit intimidated by all the different cables. Can't wait to cast this on now.
Kika you are the best person to watch knitting tutorials on youtube . You explain and show everything so clearly . Also you have a lovely exciting voice which keeps us motivated whilst watching you .
I'm almost done with mine that I started in January. Some tips I figured out: swatch for the double seed stitch. It's much easier to measure guage with that than the cables. Also, I used a highlight on every row of the charts to keep myself in the correct spot on the pattern. Definitely planning another one!!
I knit sweaters for my family every summer so they are ready to wear in the fall and now that I’m ready for this year’s work I am soooo excited to see these knit alongs!!! You can count on me knitting every sweater you have a video for! I can’t wait to do this and Salty Days!! ❤❤❤🎉❤❤❤🎉
I’m a new knitter and love knitting cables. For my 3rd sweater I wanted something like this design with a video tutorial. Thank you! I downloaded the pattern and I’m getting ready to swatch. I can’t wait to see what I learn.
This Video came at the perfect time! I finished a sweater today and the last past days ive been searching the internet for the next pattern. I wanted a little challenge and since ive never done any cable work its perfect for that. Thank you so much Kika ❤
I’ve been putting off doing big cable jumpers because of how fiddly they are with the double pointed needles (and you can’t watch tv while doing them) however looking at your yummy plush yarn in your hands, it “feels” like a great knitting project to do that will give me a lot of satisfaction. Righto. Time to download and buy some nice yarn for my winter project. Thank you.
Thank you so much for all of your great knitting tutorials, especially the ones for this sweater. I’m knitting the 2nd sweater already. Wishing you, your baby and all your beloved ones the best health and happiness 🌹💖☘️
I love this sweater and also the Sorbet sweater! Hopefully some day I'll be able to cast them on 😍 Thank you for taking the time to make a video tutorial for this sweater, it always helps me to have a visual tutorial of how to do something! Also I LOVE your channel. I love all your knits and you've been inspiring me so much lately. I’ve bought the pattern and can’t wait to start knitting my first sweater (I’ve only done cable scarves so far). I hope your 2nd part will be posted soon so I can learn how to do the sleeves. I’m nervous because this sweater is so beautiful but very hard for a beginner so your visual instruction is deeply appreciated 🫶🙏🌹
