  • Hello, dear (knitting) friends ❤️
As I promised, here's the video about knitting. In this video I talk about my favourite knitting designers, most of them from Nordic or Scandinavian countries - somehow their designing style reflects the same feeling of North I also feel and enjoy. Also I share a few of my favourite yarns and show my biggest secret on how it looks like I finish knitted items so fast 🙊
Grab a hot cup of coffee or tea and maybe your knitting needles, and enjoy ❤️
Links I promised to share in the video:
🧶 Linka Neumanns website for patterns and her books: linkaneumann.com/en/
    🧶 Finnish yarn Tukuwool: www.tukuwool.com
    🧶 Ronja Hakalehto's book: titityy.fi/en/product/lakesid...
🧶 Védis Jónsdóttir's book of Icelandic patterns: www.amazon.com/Knitting-Icela...
🧶 Other patterns can be found in Ravelry by the pattern name: www.ravelry.com

Sanna, your knits are so beautiful! Could you perhaps do a ‘big’ video project where you teach how to knit one of your sweaters step by step? I’m learning how to knit and and know the basics but it would be so helpful to also see you do the whole project with some general explanations. 🙏😃

I was born in India: in childhood, I remember my mum used to knit a lot. She also had a stash of wool and in my childhood, me and my sister wore sweaters knitted by Mom, even our school sweaters. She also made sweaters, gloves and socks for dad, our grandparents and other family members: As far as I remember she learnt it from the group of women who lived in the same society since our dads worked in the engineering projects of the government, they made small settlements in remote areas where they can live with their family. Pretty much like a job of a armed force personals. My dad was not in the army, but in the engineering services for a Governmental organization building hydro electric dams So I spent my childhood in the mountains of Himalayas, which more or less has the vibes of Northern Finland I guess. Probably such passions come naturally to women living in such places:
When I was 6, my dad passed away. Unfortunately, my mom had to throw away her passion projects and go to work to. Luckily since my dad was in Central Government and died on duty, my mom was able to get a good job in the same Government organization, not the same post as my dad of course, since she is not an engineer, and she didn't think twice to have it because she had to raise two children, me and my sister. We moved to a big city where my mom was born and raised.
Now she is very old, unable to do these things, but hopefully she would enjoy this video. . She doesn't understand English very well, but I will surely share this video with her. It brought back nostalgia to me. Thanks: 🙂🙂

I watch a lot of knitting podcasts but there is something special about seeing knitting so organically incorporated into life - the fact that it appears one way or other in most of your videos is wonderful and spending this time talking about just your knitting practice was the icing on the cake! ❤ I hope it will become a regular feature of your episodes. Your knitting is amazing. I do not knit. Many reasons why, but to see your work and color choices & patterns you choose is beyond beautiful. Truly. You may see it as not much to rave about. But for those of us who cannot do that kind of work. It is priceless. i think you would be amazed how much people would pay for a sweater like one of these. You ought to try it and see. Here in US we can get premaid tags to sew into garments with our names written on them to add a personal touch to the finished garment. Thanks for sharing this one. I thought it was really special! I sympathise - I've had to unravel several things lately, then reknit. The thought of it always is so much worse than the actual doing, somehow. Once I start it becomes its own challenge (mainly how to stop everything getting tangled 😅) and I comfort myself with how much better the end result will be if I take this time now. I live your sweaters - beautiful work!

The one that you are wearing with the turtle neck is gorgeous!! Love to have that in shades of brown and blues! Looks like a sweater you can wear for the rest of your life! Thank you for showing us all your wools and that efficient and fast contraption for turning skeins of yarn into balls of yarn, pretty cool ! Spring is coming for you guys! Olet todella intohimoinen neuloja.

This video is a work of art: all the lovely naturals (wool) and primitives (decor), and traditional handcrafting. I find it very soothing and will return to watch it repeatedly. Love the primitive decor, your sweet voice and soft smile. Softly-patterned sweaters, sweet life. Sweaters were nearly my religion as a teen; I left many of them behind (I must replace my reindeer one!). But I still find Irish and Scottish handknit pieces when we thrift, and I hang them on our walls as they have such character. And I think I will now knit wool, yes, for pillows, and maybe one sweater, as I have always longed to do. Thank you. I still have some vintage Lopi pattern books from my teen years and you have reawakened my passion for them. The blue patterned mittens are so lovely: they and your bear pillow caught my eye. The mittens are also from one of the books you mentioned? Blessings of peace to you . . .
