    I really like all your videos. Very informative. I have been into the trade for four years. Only now I got on to take medium to large dents on. Watching your videos really gives me a lot of confidence. Any chance of you showing a video, outlining the profits one can make in this trade. I know it can be different for everyone yet any experiences shared would be an extra knowledge for me. Thank you and once again I appreciate your videos.

      I'm not familiar with that primer. You can check the TDS (technical data sheet ) that will give you the info you need. It can be found online.

    Awesome.. First time iv ever researched panel beating and paint jobs on cars. Reason is iv just had mu car in the lamely beaters for a whole month after a drivers door incident. They did have to replace the whole door with a second hand one and repaint it. When i went to pick it up there was a 2cm scratch under the door handle. Not so impressed as they should have seen that when they do a quality check. I had to leave the car another day. My wisdom is, when a whole door is replaced with a new/second hand one, does the replacement for come with the glass window or without? Do they then use your old window from damaged door? Rain for asking is...there's something wrong with my drivers side glass, there's a 5cm section running midline horizontally that's hazy as if it's either faded or dull. Now that was not there's before going to repairers (passengers side front door also had a dent repaired and that window is slightly out of line at the edge side as it goes up but then straightens up well fully up)
    I'm obviously not happy about either especially after having to point out the initial scratch. Could you please please reply with answer if you know it. I don't think that's my drivers side glass, it is tinted. If it Is my original glass they reused then they've done something to it while at shop. Do they sometimes revive glass to respray or always leave in? Plus would they have had to remove passengers side glass to fix a deep but very small dent in lower half of panel, {I'm. Wondering why the glass would be slightly out of kilter? P
    Please help me know the procedure and advise me if I need to double check anything. It's going thru insurance n i payed $500 excess australian $
    Cheers n great vids.. I might watch more lol
    Lisa

      If the internal parts of the old door were not damaged the proper way would be to transfer those parts to the new used door. If they don't do that you may have problems with old window regulators that have been sitting for a long time or damage glass like your situation.

    Awesome video. On dents about a half dollar in size, would you fill with body filler or pull dent first then fill. Thanks

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  3 года назад

      Depends on how deep the dent is. If it's a shallow dent you could prep it with 180 and use a glaze. If it's deeper you'll want to pull it out first.

    I am having some paint chips corrected. There were some scratches along the driver’s door panel. They said they need to remove the door to fix it. Is that common for a repair shop to do? Or can it be done just as you have done it?
    Also how can I check that the paint job has been done well? Are there any sign I should be looking for?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  Год назад

      I wouldn't think that it's necessary to remove the door for a scratch . I don't know what the explanation would be for that.

      My guess - to add to the invoice I think! 😀
      Is there any way to tell that an actual paint job has occurred and they are not using a paint stick?

      Thanks your videos are great. The one video that I am hoping to can refer me to is one where you use color blender. I am going to attempt to repair my silver truck where there is a dent by the wheel well in the truck bed and also in the front fender. Do you have a video where you dilute the paint with blender? I think that seems like the best way to make the repair. The silver code is PDA and I think it might be a tricky color.

    Hi do you have to paint a whole panel even if it's small dent?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  Год назад

      There is techniques to blending the clear but eventually it will fail so it's always the best practice to clear the entire panel.

    1st time painter! I did some minor repairs using Oreily’s paint brand (nason). I used all of the Nason clear, can I just buy from Amazon the Upol universal clear with slow activator and use it over the nason base coat? Also is there a reducer I can get that will work with both ? I wasn’t sure about mixing brands

    Chris I am gathering material to respray my Toyota Tundra. I ended up buying PPG basecoat. What high end clear would ypu recommend? Thanks and God Bless.

    • @GarageNoise

      If I were painting a complete paint job on my vehicle the best is going to be a high solids clear. More solids a clearcoat has the better uv protection and durability. Being a production shop I don't spray it often . If I were you and wanted the best I would get with your local paint supplier and discuss it. I can recommend some great clears . You can find these in my amazon store. Matrix ms 42 or ms 52, nason 498 , I don't have a link for that. Valspar v series euro clear, this is a high solids clear . Also one I've been using alot is finish 1 fc720 . I am shooting a video that talks about the clears I use and what to look for soon so keep an eye out for that. Hope this helps thanks for watching.

      @@GarageNoise I ended up picking up 2 gallons of fc720. I have been playing with it for a week now. I wonder if I can go more than 3 coats of this stuff. It is pretty good and I can pick it up at my local sherwin Williams for cheap.
