I’ve watched this whole video did it exactly step by step word for word. Can’t thank you enough my man.
Cool, I'm so happy it helped! Thanks for the support!
I learned to respect flash time the first 2 cars I spray never gave it no flash time lol got runs but right now big difference wish I could do over that first 2 jobs
Yes, for sure. Did you know if you wait too long it can cause dye back and loss of gloss it your clearcoat?
I rarely use a blender clear before the first coat of paint and I'm glad I'm not the only one haha
Beautiful work 🤝
You are getting better every day. Keep up
Wow!!! Better than new!!! I'm planing to do a light scratches on my bumper but after watching your video and some other work i intend to make a date on doing it. Thanks!!!
Awesome! Happy the video was helpful. Appreciate the support!
@@GarageNoise yes Boss, you made me more enthusiastic, thanks again!
Looks flawless my friend! Curious how the new paint contrasts with the old when plastic is removed? Absolute beautiful work, appreciate the how to videos!
I should have shown that. Little less peel but it flowed nicely. Thanks for the comment.
Looks great
Beautiful work!
Thank's brother! Appreciate the comment and support!
Great tutorial 👌🏻
Thank's brother!
Question:
I hope you or someone answers this.
It looks better than new and wouldn't painting the whole fender to the door result in noticing a slight color difference compared to the door with factory orange peal to boot?
I have no experience. But have seen others with such a repair, only shoot base over the immediate primed repair spot, then fanning the base half to 2/3's across the fender, then clearing the whole thing....
Thanks
Hi, thanks for the useful video. There's something not clear to me though...you said you want to use a 600 grit sandpaper so the clear coat would have a good grip. But then you scuffed with the 1500 grit soft pad, so losing the good grip from the 600 grit you used before. Can you clarify that please?Thank you!
Flawless paint job..if your not sure just keep using guide coat😂😂
👍
Nice video
Thank's for the support!
Nice guide. Is that a pearlesant base coat?
Wooo Veri nike
👍
👌👌👌
Is it possible to cut and buff with out an orbital polisher
Holy crap that is a wide fan on gun I've been using cheep guns lololol
It is a wide fan! Appreciate the support!
Hi mate, how long did you wait for the clear coat to dry before you wet sand and polish?
Also did you sand the primer before applying the base coat as it wasn't shown in the video?
Hats off to you as the final finish looked amazing 👏
I wet sand the next day. Ideally wait 24hrs if possible. Yes I sanded primer with 600 grit before applying base. Thanks for being part of the channel!
@@GarageNoise thank you for the update. Really appreciate it 🙏
You did a great job can I ask you the total hours you spent on this job ? Thank you for the video
About 6 hr of work time. Without the filming.
Love the videos! Can you put a link for the plastic wrap that you put over the car? Thanks
Here ya go! amzn.to/3uvKpQC
Thanks for the link. Much appreciated
what is the spray cleaner called
well, at least he gave you a little heart thingy, I was wondering the same thing!!
do i need to sand my basecoat before spraying the clear?
No you don't
what is the item who on is your hose ( ORANGE) thanks
Water trap
Do you have any videos of starting out and steps to take when taking on a project?. Basically from start to finish auto body process.
Yes, repair video playlist lots of them.
I don't know exactly what your looking for. I can always make one if you have a good concept.
@@GarageNoise I guess im looking for a video of a breakdown of the process of painting a whole car. Also what sanding techniques what type of sandpaper grit and why. What type of filler and when to use different products. I'm a bmw master tech and I want to learn autobody. So I want learn a basic understanding of the whole process. And with more experience I will learn techniques like you have in your career. Thank you again.
@@reklessevilkidYour in the right place, Check out my channel I have over a 150 videos on paint and body repair. I have specific topic videos and overall paint videos . Check my playlist section the video's are sorted into categories. If you have questions let me know. Welcome to the channel.
@@GarageNoise awesome yes I subscribed and I've watch so many videos so far and learned so much. Thanks brother.
Hi. You did not polish the clear coat in another video. When do we need to polish please?
I polished it in this video.
@@GarageNoise ok thank you.
Was there any sanding between base coat and clear coat? Assuming outer areas wouldn’t be as smooth as repaired area
No you don't generally need to sand between base coat and clear coat. It needs to be smooth, your right. The only time you might sand is if you get a particle of dirt in your basecoat then you might lightly sand and re apply base. Appreciate the support!
@@GarageNoise
Your videos are so clear and your explanations give so much insight to the diy’er . Ive researched a dozen or so instruction videos and you are most definitely at the top. I can’t wait to give this a try and paint my passenger side rear door. Thanks so much!
Where can I get making plastic
amzn.to/3hiekme
Is 500 grit sufficient for a final sanding grit before sealer, base, and clear? I notice you stop at 600 grit. I'm just wondering if I'm setting myself up for visible sand scratches with 500 grit.
It's Probly ok. I routinely used 400 to prep for paint and clear until I noticed a slight distortion in my metallic orientation after base. So now just to be safe I use 600 or 800.
@@GarageNoise Thank you! This confirms what I read about pearls or metallics in that they usually need a finer surface to lay down properly.
@@livedeliciously Definitely 600 is safe for metallics. Even better if you use a wet bed before base check out some of my videos on using a wet bed I think you'll find it useful.
@@GarageNoise Thank you for all your help. Not sure if you have a video on it already, but I would love to see a video on removing trim pieces. Especially the little trim pieces sit in the door next to the window.
Why didn't you remove the taping paper from the car before you buffed out the clear? Your repair area shouldn't look better or worse than the rest of the cars finish.that way you can see if how much buffing you'll need and if the color matches.I know as professional body man you know this.all your steps were all correct
I do that to keep the car as clean as possible while buffing
