I just put one of these side mount editions together. I ended up getting the ers-1 seat, but to install it in a way that's adjustable, I discarded the seat slide pieces, mounted the seat frames directly to the frame, and used the seat slider cross bars to attach to the seat mount frame. Just fyi, if you have a bottom-mount seat and want some adjustment options, you'll have to do something similar to get it mounted.
Excellent review again. I can confirm that the slanted beams holding the steering wheel mount creates a huge hassle when trying to find the ideal sitting position, especially when the pedal beams are also attached to it. As you say, changing any one of seat position, steering wheel height or pedal position generally means having to adjust the other two. In the situation you demonstrated with the pedals in the formula position, as mentioned in a previous comment, the vertical pedal arms don’t need to be in between the two cross supports. Additionally, flipping one or both of the cross beams also not only changes the position of the indents, but also the location of the slot where you bolt the pedals onto. Experimenting with this may help you achieve your ideal pedal position. I think it’s a good solid rig, with lots of adjustability, but just a little frustrating and fiddly to achieve that ideal sitting position.
Holy Cow! I just set up 2 Bass shakers under front pedal platform and under seat...they really make racing fun and will nake tou a better driver!! With Simhub, you can feel the slip and traction from the tires and helps you from going thru corners! A must DIY if you has a rig!

30:30 - It's weird that they've limited the pedal movement like that. A relatively simple solution for that, would be to place the two upright plates on the outside parts of the profile. This will require additional 40160 or 4080 parts on the lower profile - to serve as spacers that would allow the plates to be placed securely on the outer side of the perdal construction. That way - you can both play with the plate mount AND allow adjustability with much less compromises. If I would have bought this - would certainly mod it like that to allow more versatility.
I did think of this solution, but having the upright sandwiched between does seem to give the pedal deck a bit more rigidity compared to having the arms mounted on the outside of both pieces of profile based on my experience with other rigs. Probably a negligible difference on such an inherently sturdy rig though.
@@boostedmedia I must admit I was a bit surprised, that with all these huge 40160 profiles, what eventually holds the actual parts is a plain bent metal and not proper profiles as well. You can build the entire rig like a tank, but then mount a 25nm wheel on a sheet of metal that bends and flexes like a piece of paper - is a big no-no in my book. The Asetec pedals visibly bend the two pieces of metal, where you could easily mount a pair of 4080 profiles. Same goes for the wheelbase mount - where you could easily use a profile-built cage that would be x10 stronger and prevent any clue of flex. Definitely see what you are talking about. When looking at everything included, it does become difficult to hit the sweet spot with adjustment. Seems like in the formula positon, the only real answer to it is purchasing a QR extension which is fine for other brands of wheel bases to be able to push out the entire pedal and wheel assembly to be able to move the scope of adjustment. Ends up being a very narrow window that needs extra pieces to be able to suit each size of driver. Also the same as what @Nathaniel_Wu is speaking of, the entire pedal adjustment may need to flip over the adjustment uprights to be in the fully close position to achieve the suitable adjustment range for him. I do agree though, its not a negative, more a compromise and the more complex the system is being interconnected, the harder it is to find the correct adjustment window. On my TR160, balancing seat height with a bottom mount, being a bigger guy needing the wheel a bit high, getting the 32" monitors into the correct position, and the pedals up as high as possible to hit that hybrid driving style to relieve tension on my back was extremely tedious and required some custom configurations to be done as well as some very long QR spacers to allow the monitors to essentially sit on the QR shaft height wise. Trying to balance all of that with something like this just adds significantly more complexity to get it right.
In the review you said there are some adjustability limitations with taller people like yourself (6'), I want to add that it's probably also the case for shorter people like me (5'6") from my experience with F-GT Elite. Mainly because I can't get the pedals close enough to me without moving the seat closer, which then gets the wheel too close to my chest because of the slanted pillars, in the end, I have to recline the seat a lot. It completely defeats the purpose of having a convertible rig because I can only use it in a more formula-style sitting position.
They could have the profile for the pedals mount inside the wheel uprights and have the pedal adjustment uprights mount to the outside of the profile so it doesn't block the pedal adjustment front to back.
I have the NLR V3 motion so it would fit in this perfectly. If later I wanted to move to a different motion system company like the D-box would I be able to add that to this rig? It seems the seat length of the rig is not long enough as you might have issues with the seat brackets getting in the way.
Yep. As I said I the video there’s no issue using their mounts. I just wanted to use a base I could hard mount directly for the video to give the best representation of any flex inherent in the NLR rig specifically.
The pedal arms don't HAVE TO be in between the two cross supports. You could have adjusted it so they are in front for more range. You would have to flip the front support so the indents are facing away from the cockpit. It would give you a couple extra inches to push the pedals more forward from the uprights. There are a couple pics on the NLR website showing that configuration. It still would be a pain in the @55 to change from GT to Formula and back again, though.
I just ordered this rig for my first one. I didn’t want to cheap out and have to upgrade in the future. My FGT Elite 160 comes in Wednesday 😎😎 My Logitech Pro comes in today 🔥🔥 I’m too excited.

I own this rig, very good overall experience, I agree it is a pain to adjust the rig, especially by yourself, but once you get it in the sweet spot it’s worth it. Now I just want to upgrade my pedals. Do you have any recommendations of the best pedals for open wheel driving?
menta issue I have is that there is no place to make placement for a high priced PC, and I don't see where I can get creative and add the PC nicely organized into it. GREAT VIDEO brother.
Again an excellent review, love the attention to detail you always put in your reviews. :) Off-topic question: Do you plan to make a review for the Soelpec Spectra XR by any chance? I've been eyeing that steering wheel for a while now, but I haven't found many reviews for it, thought a review from you for it would be perfect. :)
Great review as always, thanks! Are you planning to do a review on the Trak Racer TRX? I'm really struggling to make a choice between the NLR F-GT Elite 160 and the Trak Racer TRX. For now I guess the NLR is the better option, regarding some reviewers saying the TRX has too much flex in the pedal plate in the formula configuration. The NLR seems stiffer, although less adjustable probably.
Nice! Can I ask a favor, to measure the height of the top of the seat (where you sit) from the floor? I wish to know how much lower they are than w/ an office chair, as my monitors are on a desk top and might need to lower them too.
1.) I own this rig and I see you complain about the wheel deck moving back and forth, the side mount version resolved that as it allows you to move the base back and forth without moving the profile 2.) I believe mine came with extra t-nuts for accessories so I’m not sure if that was an accident or they forgot yours. 3.)I somewhat agree with your complaints regard adjust the pedal position although if you do it in proper sequence you can likely do it under 10mins. With that said it’s not super intuitive and they don’t tell you the proper sequence as well as being super heavy. But it’s not as easy as it first seems.
How do you feel this compares to the Trak Racer hybrid pedal set up on the TR160? Love the idea of switching occasionally, and this seems like a less than ideal way to go about the task. I dont really like the TRX aesthetic even if it seems to be the best at this. I plan on purchasing my first real profile rig in the next few months and Im looking at all options.
One major problem that I notice but no one mentions in their review, is that the side bracket is too short. You can only mount a break and a shifter side by side, assuming they are narrow enough,, but I prefer to set them up inline with the break behind the shifter. I don't like this limitation at all and it's a bit of a deal breaker. It's a major flaw in the posts being slanted instead of straight and you loose too much room in the side bracket unnecessarily.
Hey Will, Would you recommend the F-gt elite only and no the 160. Reason for this is because i was told by NLR to get the elite and not the 160 for future plans of motion. Just because of the 160 being heavier than the regular elite. Thanks for your help.
You can’t lie when it comes to reviews Boosted Media keeps it’s honest about the good, bad and ugly. I just wish they would start reviewing the cheaper stuff. I think those Sim Jack pedals would be a great buy i just want to what I’ll need to upgrade on them to make them high end quality.
I have a formula cockpit and forget moving it every time you change car. With a formula seating position everything has to be in the exact right position. If you pedals are too close then you bang your knees. If your wheel is too high you can't see. Too low and you bang your knees. Wheel too far or too close to seat then it's not comfortable or there's no elbow room. As Will said move one thing even a few mm and it needs to be right to the mm then it requires changing other things. It's a case of taking a mm from one place to give to another place. It's a massive pain and takes AGES and lots of test drives to finally get something that works. There's a reason why drivers do test fitting sessions. Plus personally I don't think it even works with a GT style seat. What I think is cool about this rig is it's one of the few that can actually be laid back far enough for GT. Most rigs are far too upright.
I am No engineer what see is a little cost more for the adjuster is moving that part on the out side on the and two part of aluminum profile on bottom where the adjuster sit and them put the adjuster plate on the outside to make move freely. i would work on that adjust safe with no cut on hand and finger and any other adjustment .
This rig design is very interesting. It's aluminum profile but with how it's designed limits the adjustability of an aluminum profile rig. I like the hash markings though.
@@boostedmedia very impressed with its rigidity. The seat is slightly uncomfortable for my back but it helps to keep it in a more formula style to take some stress off my back muscles. Overall very happy with it.
I think its THE non custom cockpit, however, I also think a seat should be included in this priceclass or at least different options on it (less to more premium)
I have the F-GT rig. Not the Elite. And I was gifted the fanatec shifter and handbrake for xmas. The F-GT doesn't have any mounting for a handbrake, so I was looking at selling that rig and upgrading to something like this as I still want to be able to go between the two seating positions (I have the fanatec DD1 and enjoy F1 racing but I want to learn drifting and rally racing on the sim) Would you say this is worth it? Cost wise and overall adjustment wise? Its going to cost a lot to fully replace the rig regardless.
Nice review. I have the OG FGT Elite from a few years ago. Really love it and it’s been solid and trouble free. Is there any difference with this unit? Only the 160 name is the change. Ah ok, got through more of video and understand changes now. Thanks
I was wondering this as well. something I am missing in this review. Why is this product made? why not just get a FGT Elite? I am getting confused about all these Next Level Racing Rigs
The inclusion of hash marks on the profile makes me think that this is being marketed to people who want to switch between seating positions. I could see using this to race a GT car for one season and then switch to formula for the next season in iRacing or something like that. But it is obviously not something that would be easy to do from race to race, as Will demonstrated. Great, thorough review as always!
Hey Man! I was wondering if you have ever tried the Simtrecs Pro Pedal GT, to I can have a comparison from Asetek Invicta and Simtrecs….I like the Asetek, but prefer how Simtrecs looks…have you ever tried Simtrecs?
Seems a bit over complicated and restrictive in adjustments. I can get my P1-X to near enough the same position with nothing more than a pair of Trak Racer XL seat mounts. It does take time, but probably no longer than converting this rig between styles. The biggest thing with trying to have a hybrid setup is a formula seat is inherently different. There is more shoulder/neck support to facilitate the reclined position. Without it it's okay for short races but can cause shoulder/neck/back pain in longer stints (especially for those who already have issues) Trak racer apparently have tried to solve this with an add in cushion for the formula position, I rigged up something by shifting the cushion pads around in my sparco seat and adding a lumbar support pillow from my pc gaming chair for a head rest. But ultimately the ideal situation is to have two seats, but that comes with extra cost and storage requirements (I'm still trying to justify this myself 🤣) Maybe what is needed is a manufacturer to make a seat with included adjustment in both recline (for leg support) and around the shoulders. Maybe that's the next big move forwards in sim rig products?
Do you plan on doing an update on the new p1x pro And in your opinion cost aside would you buy this in 2023 or still the p1x or p1x pro I ask as I’m looking to buy in the coming weeks 😂

I will preface this and say that I have not had action taken by Pagan or NLR but ordered this cockpit with the ESR1 seat, and issues with both. The seat is bent beyond usability, one of the arms from the lower literally off at 20 degrees. On the actual rig, for some reason all of the aluminium parts are a sage green colour. I am not necessarily upset about this, but it's certainly not the black I see in your videos or any of the product descriptions. In addition the wheel deck (flat edition) looks like its had a belt sander run over it. Neither of the boxes looked damaged at all, and I doubt Pagnian open them at all so seems like an issue from NLR but super disappointed. I am hoping that these issues are rectified, but after 1700 odd $ landed it's certainly not the experience I was hoping for to this point.
Go big on the rig, you won't change it.. all the other gear you will change over time.. so go hard on the rig. the next level racing rigs are good.. trakracer, simlab (although depending on where you are, import costs will hurt), but yeah, go hard on the rig, don't buy one of the seat/tube frame things, get something built w/ extrusion. Good luck!

I wonder if you were to swap the pedal mounts around if you could get more adjustment
I need a 8020 rig. bought a tube steel one. now I need it LOL
Awesome review thanks
Do you have like lists of recommended or preferred items that stay updated?
what's stopping you from moving the pedal angle adjuster forward... (at the base)
Most rigs are far too upright.
will you ever be doing a review on the trak racer TRX rig?
I am No engineer what see is a little cost more for the adjuster is moving that part on the out side on the and two part of aluminum profile on bottom where the adjuster sit and them put the adjuster plate on the outside to make move freely. i would work on that adjust safe with no cut on hand and finger and any other adjustment .
Awesome review!
This rig design is very interesting. It's aluminum profile but with how it's designed limits the adjustability of an aluminum profile rig. I like the hash markings though.
haha that was frickin hilarious for some reason 0:27
Do they offer a direct mount triple setup? Cant seem to find anything.
Funny, I'm sitting in this exact rig right now that I bought from Microcenter about a month ago. Watching just to see what you think of it.
Let us know how you find yours!
@@boostedmedia very impressed with its rigidity. The seat is slightly uncomfortable for my back but it helps to keep it in a more formula style to take some stress off my back muscles. Overall very happy with it.
Which Cockpit is best VFM for F-GT style with seat and maybe support for motion? I’m 5’11” 70kgs.
For games like ETS2, F1, ACC, Forza, MFS, etc.
I think its THE non custom cockpit, however, I also think a seat should be included in this priceclass or at least different options on it (less to more premium)
Do you have any experience with the GT Elite Lite. I was wondering about the rigidity compared to the GT Elite and if it's worth the price difference
Which is easiest to switch between Formula and GT styles? This F-GT Elite 160 or the Trak Racer 120/160?
Great video as always :D
Is Wheelplate Edition compatible with Simagic bases?
Resellers are grabbing all the cockpits, no top end profile cockpits available to buy directly from the manufacturer. No NLR, Simlab, ect
Do you plan on doing an update on the new p1x pro
And in your opinion cost aside would you buy this in 2023 or still the p1x or p1x pro
I ask as I’m looking to buy in the coming weeks 😂
I didn't even know sim racing was a thing until recent. How much for that whole set up?
thank you for the new next level . i am glad to know of adjustment . the only think i would like to know is the seat cushon replacement parts ? i bought a rseat 15 years a go and now it the seat is it wear out and i like like the seat but it cut my hands and where i live to replace the cover to get it to make up upholstery shop need $1500 and rseat in north America site don't have the replacement not in there site . in europe site has it but to get the but to get it i type five time in four year . they just don't hlep me they got my money and laugh all the way to the bank . now i am look for new rig with seat to but i find no seat there money hurry seller when buy car there a seat .
F-GT Elite or F-GT Elite 160 ? I have 2x Motion Plus Platforms and a Motion Platform V3 so want easy fitment. Thanks
What’s the difference between F-GT elite and F-GT Elite lite?
I put a real sparco Reclinable seat on this bad boy
recommendations for a first rig? 15 and just got a job and always have been into sim racing and looking for an affordable option.
Good luck!
thanks for the tip! @@malbster
@@dannymoosavi1478 Second what Malbster said. Either get a cheap fold up style rig (if you're on a budget) or go all out and get a flagship profile rig. Anything in between is just wasting money as you will eventually upgrade to a profile rig anyways
This item is not on the AUS site yet :(
Have you ever used a V-Rig? That rig appears to switch between GT and formula set up seamlessly.
I hadn't heard of them before your comment, thanks for the education. HOWEVER, dude, those are MAJORLY different price points! Over $7k USD for V-Rig. Better make bacon for me every morning for that... 🤣
@@brandonreiser7739 Oya that's for the entire package. I got a quote for literally just the rig minus the monitor stand, seat, and pc. The quote was like 2600 shipped USD. Still a pretty penny but I ended up not doing it. I plan on waiting for black friday to get a simlab gt1 on sale and modify the design a little bit to fit truer to an f1 style seating.
video example of the interlinking adjustment would be great instead of just talking about it, I'm a visual learner
So this or Sim Lab P1-X?
6 foot 4 inches???? Wow! On my TV he only looks around 2 foot, maybe 2 foot 3 inches. max LOL GREAT REVIEW!!!!!
Next Level racing shot themselves in the foot with the T nut change up. Are they trying to prioritize their rigs? There's been countless times where I've needed different t-nuts for different accessories. Half of the fun is modifying your rig and attaching accessories.
Great looking rig. Unfortunately that T-nut compatibility issue is a deal breaker for me. Sim Lab GT1 Pro it is then.
i vouch hard for the GT1 especially when if you can get a seat second hand
It seems as if Trak Racer is a easier rig when it comes to adjustments.
I do have the F-gt elite (not 160) and I would like to say that I don't really see how it could be more sturdy I can literally dance on the wheel deck and pedal plate 😅 imo the 160 is for the ones with a good wallet and some inferiority complex 😂 In eu price difference is around 600€ between the 160 and 120 I don't see how it could be worth it.
And! If you really wanna flex with a 160 cockpit the track racer tr160 Mk4 is almost half the price of the NLR 160.🤯
Спасибо за твои видео и обзоры! Ты классный! Я тебя вижу! 👍👍👍
Good
There was poor light on the video and you could not see the details you were describing regards JOHN
Early 2024 for MC.
Early 2023 has passed 😂😂😂.
What does the “160” refer to?
160mm profile. The width of the profile used in the bottom frame. 4 channels is 160, 3 is 120, 2 is 80 and 1 is 40.
@@boostedmedia thank you!
Unbelievable that they would not make the profile of their flagship product compatible with spring ball t-nuts. A huge miss.
I've got 3 more monthly payments lol was wondering if you just wasn't doing this video 😂
If there was a Trak racer TRX from aluminum profile that would be great but seems like trak racer still beats it
An honest hardcore review... my visa card currently dislikes you!!
Your Sponsor Microcenter, will they ever open stores in the UK?
The most we get is Currys and not even the good kind of Curry, no the shit kind, with crap refund policies 😂
It would be amazing if they went global, but I'm not aware of any plans. I think they want to expand in the US more first.
Anybody else think that next level has some nice rigs but cant stand that they made those slanted rails where you mount your DD? It just looks bad to me and makes me want to cut them straight everytime i see them
Do u gots an old wheel I can have 😅😅
Unfortunately, Micro Center doesn't sell a thing related to Fanatec. Because they are direct to consumer. Listen up, Fanatec, get off your pedestal. Start out by having only select store direct businesses you want to work with.. and damn are we ever going to hear about the so called qr2?? Or is that more Fanatec smoke we have to take?? Other contenders are easily stepping on Fanatec grounds!
So, the F1 position is for people no taller then 165-170 cm.
It’s going to depend on the pedal set you use.
Once again. Another product that I can't afford lol
It's an expensive hobby kid
Welcome to sim racing, even when you can afford all the gear, someone goes ahead and releases a product like the Simucube active pedals and you're back to feeling poor lol
I bought one of these. Agree with most of what you say! Unfortunately they have the worst customer experience in the USA and I would never recommend anyone buy from them. Their aftermarket support has been non existent. They are also very lacking in accessories.
ths man is not 6 foot 5'10 maybe
Yep. I’m totally lying about my height. 🤦♂️ 😂
First! 👍🏻
