    Loved the style of this video, the story along with the scenic walk. It's amazing how much you had to submit to prove you were in a relationship, you'd think a marriage certificate would be evidence, it's a legal document! Well done for getting through the process, these things always look easy from the outside but people forget that that's because some things are to hectic to share. Well done for sharing the honest process in an upbeat way!

I’m a kiwi and take the beautiful beaches for granted now, but my eyes popped when I saw Queenstown and the Southern Alps with my own eyes for the first time. Even the Lake Taupo region with the central north island volcanoes will make your hair stand on end when you see it in person. It’s all before you! Hope you get enough time off work to enjoy.

    From Durban as well. But living in the tranquil Victoria BC Canada. And it was nice to follow your Durban episodes. Immigration is so different for many, with children, young and older and without children. My advice is to do it early, its a lot harder when you have to deal with teenage children, especially boys.

    Wow, what a process and as you went through the steps, the costs just keep going up and up .. not a cheap exercise, not counting getting to Pretoria for the medicals, etc. Like Craig, I also prefer to be hands on when it comes to the logistics, doing the research, applying for whatever, etc. I think if you do your research well, ask the right questions, and have that knack for "organising a "party" in a brewery", you can do a lot of this yourself. In the end, it is down to how much you are willing to take on in terms of stress, the complexity of the process, the amount of time you have until you need to leave and your own time to your disposal. I had an ex-colleague who as part of what they took with when they immigrated to NZ a few years ago, also had to ship a Tesla Powerwall to NZ .. now we're talking a whole different set of logistics as lithium-ion batteries need to be shipped separately than your own stuff.
    But very creatively put together. Loved it! The waterfall is awesome!

    Wow. That was a lot of work. It was a lot easier 20 years ago. A tip to newbies from SA. Drop the SA flag on your clothing, car, etc. You live in NZ now. Kiwi's hate South African's pushing their old identity around. You don't want to stand out as a South African. They will constantly remind you that you are South African because of you accent. It becomes old and annoying. Best of luck.

    Hi! Can you please assist with the part of proof of relationship? What docs did you submit and what was needed? Thanks

    • @BeingBedingfield
      @BeingBedingfield  Год назад

      Hi, submit anything and everything you have 😅 Marriage certificate, a document with a timeline of your relationship (include photos), shared bank account, insurance documents with both your names, rental/property documents with both your names, travel bookings together, medical aid with both names, etc etc
      Please note that this is just a guideline, based on our experience and not advice.

      Thanks so much, and all the best with your research! A very very rough estimate is probably around R100k for 2 people.

    Hi guys, did INZ tell you to go for the medical and where, after you submitted the rest of the docs?

    • @BeingBedingfield
      @BeingBedingfield  Год назад +2

      I think it was part of the docs we had to send in, but the visa we applied for no longer exists 😬 for my parents visitor visa, they were notified of medicals after they submitted their docs.

    There is this trend: a man gets a job and moves, and a woman makes movies on youtube. Its almost never a woman moving, establishing her career it, its almost always "follow husband women" who present it as their achievement. And those women tell about moving, when in fact they were in the passenger seat...

      Um, ok, thanks for sharing your insight about this ‘trend’
