Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch one Pokémon per "Encounter"
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader (game enforced)
6. Play on manual "Set" battle mode
Soul Link Rules:
7. Pokémon are linked based on encounter location. Both players teams must have the same set of linked Pokémon at all times,
8. If one player's Pokémon dies, the linked Pokémon also dies (at the end of the battle).

Agreed, but then again i watch FlygonHG more than any other nuzlocker cause of the storylines he crafts rather than the difficulty of his runs (since he mostly plays vanilla obv) so as long as he's having enough fun to keep uploading im good lol
A nuzlocke isn't about the journey, it's about the friends you lose along the way
editing this duo nuzlocke as effectively 45 minutes of stream highlights truly was the way to go. your brain is huge

Please do more soul-links, they're such a wonderful touch of chaos to your usual (in a good way!) analytical and careful approach to nuzlockes. Also Bloody is hilarious and a great match
Fun fact about your freeze against pryce. Using a move that has a chance to burn will defrost you, including scald. Hence flame wheels 10% chance to burn, you defrosted
Nope its just around 8 moves that defrost. For example flamethrower, heat wave and a lot more do not defrost even they have a chance to burn.

What are the 8 moves that defrost when the frozen Pokémon uses them?
@@mytylp2589 flare blitz, flame wheel, fusion flare, sacred fire, scorching sands, steam eruption, scald and burn up. I didnt play SV because the games are dogshit but maybe they added more in gen9 idk🤙

I find the journey that much more interesting when the outcome isn't a forgone conclusion, the fact that Flygon uploads failed runs/challenges makes me more eager to watch them
You're my favorite nuzlocker to watch, whether you win a run or lose them. The creativity and depth of knowledge you bring to every run regardless of outcome is so fun to watch!
And honestly, the failed runs make me look forward to how you'll tackle it differently if you ever try to succeed in those runs where you failed before

Hey Flygon! I’ve got an idea for a new nuzlocke - you have basic nuzlocke rules but your Pokémon gets the perish song effect upon entering battle. I think this could be interesting and full of switches and pivots.
Someone should pitch that to Smallant, sounds like exactly the kind of challenge he would do.

Further update: we won, and I only had two birds on my team by the end.
I've been playing emerald rouge for a couple months now and had no idea you could interact with the statue to see what type of gym you were about to face.

You know, a perfect end to a soul link would be for the final two teams of the players being used in a single battle with exact same movesets as they ended. Would be a very cool way to end the soul link

I'm having so much more fun playing Emerald rogue than any other pokemon game. I feel like gamefreak should really get in on this and make a game. Started out playing roguelites with Binding of Isaac and what really hooked me was that it was just straight randomness, especially after you unlock everything. I still haven't beaten the elite 4, but I love the randomness of this game. Just need to unlock the rest of the Pokémon first, but that's really hard, because gym leader order really matters.
Erika’s Alolan Exeggutor should be added to Flygon’s Hall of Fame for that interdimensional quad kill 🌴🥚☠️

Random thought: Since they changed hail to snow and altered its effects, I think they should change confusion to perplexity and make it cut special attack in half like burn for attack.

I don't mind if you fail nuzlockes, keep challenge yourself and don't worry about losing as long as you make it to attempt 10-20 (depending on where you wipe) or the elite four I think you have a solid video.

43:29, 44:01 - Personally as viewer I find Pokemon challenge videos to be equally enjoyable whether the player succeeds or fails. If the player never fails any challenge then the videos become slightly less compelling.

Edit: The Dhelmise part actually made me realize how much I wish there was a ball that was the opposite of a repeat ball, would be so good for Nuzlockes.

22:44 as a draft league player, heavy duty boots + sturdy is one of my favorite things. It's way more consistent than focus sash. Maybe that's true in nuzlockes too
