After years of moding it and racing it, I traded it in. Worst mistake I’ve ever done in car buying. Man, I wish Mazda would bring back the speed 6 and speed 3. Id pre order one in a heart beat

    I lease my last 3 Mazdas and I tend to take care of them more too! I was also disappointed that my grand touring didn’t include the LED interior lights- I ordered the LED’s off of Amazon. I am missing a glove box log tho. I read that the car includes one but mine doesn’t seem to be coming on at all. Also, I got the snowflake white Pearl. I have the parchment leather. I didn’t get turbo or AWD because I live in Miami Florida. I got the premium package on my CX-5 which includes the heated front windshield, heated back seat, ventilated seats, Heads-Up Display, heated steering wheel and power side-folding mirrors. I don’t find the seat bottom to be very comfortable but the seats do look nice. I may exercise a purchase option after my lease is up.

    I decided on this vehicle because of it's high rating in it's category. Two years later I have been to the dealership three times in 4 months. One time for a broken tail light when the bracket broke spontaneously, second time a month later for a banging noise which turned out to be the ball joint and needed replacing. The vehicle has 20,000 km on it. I am Canadian so we are metric system. Yesterday two weeks later another noise this time a creaking noise apparently caused by rusty rotors. The fronts are so bad they need replacing. That is in two years and the car is in the garage and not the weather. The ball joint was covered but the rotors were not. I have been driving for 50 years and keep my cars 10 or more years. Never have I replaced a ball joint. I also have never replaced rotors for rust issues. This is my first brand new vehicle and my first mazda. I am not at all impressed with it so far.

    ** IF ** you are looking for a 2021 CX-5 with a Turbo 2.5L PLEASE have it looked at by a mechanic. ALL Turbo '21 2.5L Mazda Models have been suffering from oil consumption issues due to the valve guides/seals leaking. There is a Mazda TSB as well as a CA lawsuit that has been filed. Not sure if this was caused by supply chain issues back then? It was during the height of the pandemic.
    -Note: Some '21 2.5L Turbo models are unaffected at this time, and the normally aspirated ones so far are fine as well.

    Great job with the review, I'm coming out of a 2018 Subaru Impreza sport and I just put a down payment on the 2021 touring CX-5 with the preferred SX package. I have a question, is there a way to manually shut off the emergency front braking? I know that sounds absolutely ridiculous..that I would want to shut this feature off, but in my Subaru there's a button you just push and hold and it shuts off the emergency front braking, sometimes when you're driving a little more aggressively on the highway and you come up on a slower car, the Subaru would begin to yell at me and I'm afraid that it might apply the emergency breaking, I'm sure there must be some way to shut that off if you had to..? Thank you in advance

    • @2004cyrus
      @2004cyrus 3 года назад

      @gemster18 3 года назад +2

      @@2004cyrus no I'm sorry let me clarify, when I said down payment, I was referring to the money I put down to lease it, I only put down 500 bucks and I'm leasing it for 36 months. This is the first time I dealt with Mazda, and I have to say I was very satisfied, I have the truck almost there 8 months and I do like it, and I'm finally getting used to that radio with the center controls between the seats, I'm just wondering how it's going to be in the snow? @@gemster18 when you say, “you have the truck almost there and you do like it” what do you mean by that? I’m glad you like the Mazda. $500 is great low down payment for your lease. I’m on my 5th Mazda and they have been good on the snow and I’ve never had the AWD Mazda. When you say truck, are you referring to your CX-5? Sorry I don’t mean to frustrate you. I’m trying hard to understand what you are telling me. Thanks for being patient. And I’m glad you are okay with the command knob on that center console. Most people that buy Mazda quickly realize that it works well once you get used to it. I find it great to not have to reach your arm up every time you want to make a change. What color did you get? I went on to Amazon and found some floor mats for the front and the backseat and I bought a rubber cargo mat as well. Those will protect the carpet from mud and spills and they fit just as well as Weather Tech floor liners. I’m happy for your purchase! My CX-5 is the snowflake white Pearl and I have the parchment leather interior, all that means is white leather.

    • @2004cyrus
      @2004cyrus 3 года назад

      @@estebanpacheco7102 I disagree completely. Their electric is available in California shortly. The MX-30. Their is plenty of tech. People that buy Mazda like me all agree that using a knob is way easier than having to raise your arm and touch a screen in an exact place while driving over a bumpy road. The knob is efficient and feels good. Mazda markets to a younger crowd. They have the CX-3, CX-30, Mazda 3 Hatchback and so on. The only older person car would be the CX-9 and mostly 40-55 year old people but those. I have ventilated seats, Apple CarPlay, heads up display, USB ports in the back, heated seats in the back and the heated steering wheel, they have sold 20% to Toyota and are going to catch up with hybrids with Toyota’s help and resources: Mazda is a very small company and doesn’t have the budget to be up with Honda and Ford but that’s why they are partnering with Toyota now for the help. But there is no shortage of tech. I have the Bose stereo. And the panoramic roof is coming in 2022-2023. Their new CX-50 that’s coming in the spring has more tech and that panoramic roof too! And it’s got the looks of a Subaru Forester for young active people. Check it out. And no CVT’s in any of their cars unlike Honda, Toyota, Hyundai and Kia, or Subaru. Zoom zoom was their tag line and that’s not something the aging population will gravitate towards. I’m not sure where to opinions derived from but they just aren’t accurate here. The designs are loved by young people across the world. Old people go to Lexus, Lincoln, Cadillac, Lincoln, BMW and Mercedes. Not Mazda or Subaru or Acura tbh

    But unless you get premium plus you lose the Bose sound system and power lift gate.
    Is there a huge difference for example between 21 and 22 or 23? Maybe if I find a dealer with a 21 same or higher trim with power lift gate and Bose I should go for that? Thoughts?

      Remember, we went through supply and demand issues... so if the dealers have models with no bose and/or power lift gate, you are saving money as they are listed as deleted on the window sticker. For some, that's a blessing as they'll get the vehicle for less and not worry about mechanical problems later on with the liftgate. Believe it or not, there are people that will buy it with the deleted options.

      In the last year we have bought a 2020 CR V and a 2021 CX 5 (SV preferred package, definitely worth the upgrade if you can afford it). The CR V is much bigger, gets better gas mileage and I like the Honda sensing features better than the Mazda safety suite. I also like the digital speedometer on the CR V. It has plenty of power for how I drive.
      The Mazda is just a beautiful vehicle. It has a great interior (although the CR Vs is no slouch either). The BOSE sound system in the preferred SV package is really nice, probably my favorite feature. It is quiet and fun to drive. I really like the feel of the steering wheel. A little disappointing on gas mileage.
      I like them both a lot but if I just wanted to go driving I would pick the CX 5. If I needed more family space I would get the CR V (a lot of back seat leg room). I am happy to have them both and am hoping they will both be reliable. We have been a Honda family. We have had a Civic, Accord and Pilot and they have all been very reliable vehicles. Hope this helps a little. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one.

      The Mazda will not have oil mixing in the gas issue that has plagued the CRV. Also Mazda is the most reliable brand according to consumer reports.

      And the turbo gives it 250 h.p. using premium fuel, and gives 320 lbs-ft of torque.

    Awful driving position. Huge A pillars, steering wheel doesn’t telescope far enough, seats have no thigh support, and dead pedal too far forward. Entertainment system sucks, no touch screen.

      Lmao wow are you speaking from experience? Because that steering wheel is fine, the dead pedal is in the normal spot, the A-Pillars are for safety in a roll over and a non issue otherwise, touch screens suck and stay dirty and the command knob works flawlessly. You are just a troll. 98% of people love their Mazdas and give them glowing reviews. I’m on my 5th new Mazda.
