    I bought a pre-owned 2019 CX-5 and it is the finest automobile I have ever owned. I never considered Mazda before, (thinking it was a rich guy's car) but I got a basically new car with only 10,000 miles on it for $28,000, got a FULL warranty and tire and wheel warranty, and the car is amazing. Does absolutely everything I need it to do and it has been utterly reliable. It is the only car that my 7-year-old daughter does not get car sick in, maybe because of that spooky G Vectoring it has. You almost don't feel turns. I will definitely be buying another Mazda someday, if they keep making automobiles this fine. Feels and rides more like a luxury SUV to me. very classy-looking as well. Totally satisfied. Customer for life.

    It’s not stiff at all. It’s very luxurious. I just traded up from 2019 to 2021 bec I hated the 185hp. Sluggish. Get the 250hp. You only get the 250hp if you’re in premium gas. It’s very responsive. My wife loved it so much, went bought a Mazda 6 signature and it’s impeccable for the value. It’s fast, stylish and looks luxurious in the cabin. Trust me, get the bigger engine.,

      I’m on my 5th Mazda. The others were pre owned. I just leased a new Mazda - the CX-5 Grand Touring with Premium package for an extra $1625 for some great additional features. I’ve had my eye on one for years. I’ve had it for a month tho. I have few complaints and lots of compliments. Let me know if you want any questions answered about this car or Mazda in general. • @2004cyrus
      @2004cyrus 3 года назад +2

      @@michaelcowan2334 okay here goes Michael! Mazda is still fun, quiet, refined, affordable, has great steering, it’s made totally in Japan which really is evident in all of build quality. It’s 99% flawless in my examinations of it. The materials are great! The technology is fantastic from larger screen to Bose stereo to ventilated seats, paddle shifters (mechanical), Heads Up Display, Adaptive Cruise control, Apple Car Play, and so on. No problems. The complaints are mostly minor. I came out of a 2019 VW Tiguan which was great IMO but not perfect of course. The major complaint for me is that the Mazda requires a shocking amount of time and pressure to slow it down with the brakes. I sent Mazda an email about it. I’m getting used to it now after a month but the difference is huge. I didn’t realize how great the VW brakes were. It stopped fast! I learned that the VW had extra large brake discs and rotors etc. Mazda isn’t bad necessarily or unsafe at all. Just a departure for me from VW. Okay- the glove box has no light so you have to use the map light. The second row seat does not recline at all. The seats are too firm for my taste. I like the VW Tiguan seats 100% more. I’m getting used to these: the seats look fantastic and the head rest is positioned well and bolstering is okay but I would prefer more. The bottom cushion is too short for long legged men. It needs a couple inches in length. I wish that the stalks on the steering wheel were illuminated so that I can see where the positions are for lighting. There is an auto setting which my friend argued is where I should leave it. But I make adjustments when I’m night driving. I emailed Mazda about this detail as well. Also, the dead pedal on the floor board is carpet, there is no plastic plate to protect the carpet. I bought an aftermarket dead pedal cover online and installed it. And this is a small detail but there are no reflectors on the doors that alert oncoming drivers that a door on the vehicle is open while stopped. Lastly, there is no remote start on the key fob, an owner has to install a Mazda Connect app on their smartphone and use it to control or check status of their Mazda if they want to have that function. I wish the CX-5 had LED Tail lights. Otherwise things work great and feel good inside; I would buy another one tomorrow. I recommend spending more for the turbo engine if you are a man who wants the most torque and power. I didn’t buy the turbo. I find the power to be more than adequate for a 4-cylinder crossover and I have a sports car in my garage! Also, the Mazda CX-3 put a big smile on my face! It’s not great for family duty but for 2 people it’s great and the turbo with AWD in that unit is a blast! I would have bought it if I didn’t need more space for things I haul. Let me know if you have questions about any of that! I’m getting 26mpg on average. It takes regular gas. The Mazda’s last so long with maintenance. Oh and I will probably put wider, stickier tires on my CX-5 soon. I’ll be up all night so don’t worry about bothering me. I hope you choose a Mazda.

    Good review. Thanks. I have a 2019 CX-5 GT Reserve (2.5 L. turbo, AWD) and yeah, I'd like the 2021 upgrades but I'm very happy with my Grand Touring Reserve without the paddle shifters, bigger screen and another 10 ft. lbs. of torque. I have eked out a few extra horsepower with a drop-in K&N air filter and a CorkSport much stiffer turbo down pipe. The stiff CS down pipe give noticeably better throttle response, to my surprise. Finally adding 5 gallons of 100 octane gas to 10 gallons of 91 octane gas on a fillup = ZOOM! ZOOM!
    Additionally... I added a CorkSport oil catch can to keep crankcase vapors out of the oil/air separator and off my intake valves.
    *The rest of the "upgrades" are dealer suppled roof racks, trunk interior cover and lighted door sill plates.From Ali Express (China) gas-filled hood props and many interior brushed aluminum trim pieces. All Chinese parts are, surprisingly, high quality.

      I understand this engine doesn't need a catch can because Mazda solved that problem with a built-in air/oil separator. They also found that keeping the valve temp above 400 F prevented carbon buildup, so they redesigned the head coolant path to keep the valves above 400 F.

    I bought a 2021 CX-5 Carbon Edition w/ Turbo and AWD. I would have bought a Mazda6 if it came with AWD. I heard, the Mazda6 may be getting RWD, and if it does, there needs to be a limited-slip differential in the rear axle. My neighbor has an expensive RWD Mercedes sedan, and it's lousy with its traction because there is no limited-slip rear differential. Since the Mazda has no problems with their 4 cylinders, they should keep them, and make the 6 cyl. optional. There might be an AWD Mazda6 soon?

These previews and reviews never seem to wanna talk about iStop, CVTs, or Cylinder Deactivation. No Mazda has a CVT, and in 2021, no Mazda had iStop (i.e. Engine Stop/Start technology) in the U.S..

    • @SokemRokemRobot
      @SokemRokemRobot 2 года назад

      @@ashihtaka That is one way of looking at it. Another way of looking at it is... spending over $30k on a new vehicle that uses a new technology that may be a bigger failure than a success. Then your out $30k. Cylinder Deactivation will shutdown a couple of the cylinders at highway speeds, so that you will save on fuel consumption. That doesn't mean there won't eventually be adverse effects on the engine's balance with the constant deactivation of a couple of the cylinders. If there is carbon buildup in a couple of cylinders, but not in the other two, couldn't there be an imbalance that might cause the engine to run rougher at high speeds? I'd rather not use my $30k to be their Guinea Pig. People are too trusting when buying new technologies that haven't been tested very long.

  • @PaoloFrancesco99
    @PaoloFrancesco99 9 месяцев назад

    This is a helpful video for me, as I'm considering a certified 2021 GT trim here in early 2024. After driving a zoom-zoom Protege 5 manual about 20 years ago, we've been a Honda/Acura family. If I were to buy new, I'd want to get a CRV Sport Hybrid. But I can save serious cash by going used, and I don't want Honda's CVT in their used, NA engine CRV models. The CX5 will be the best choice for a lot of the reasons you mentioned. Plus, Mazda's design is do good looking. Finding a GT with the Premium package is even a better deal, as it includes ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, heads up display and folding mirrors. One ends up getting a great deal on such packages on the used market.
    Btw, I drove a NA engine CX-50 too, and the engine just isn't quite enough for that heavier car. The steering is over-the-top heavy reviewers have noted. The space was great. The interior quality does not meet the bar of the CX5. The CX5 will do since we have a larger SUV.

I will be retiring in a few years and need a reliable, smooth car to get me to my travels. I can't afford the turbo so I'm hoping that the 187 HP will be enough for me as it will be more than what I currently have. One thing not mentioned is the turning radius. I don't know why the CX-9 does not have any Naturally aspirated engines? All turbos it would be good at least the Sport *base* and the touring are Naturally aspirated engines I'm sure there is a lot of people who want to get the CX-9 but just 1 thing witch prevents them from getting it is the fact that all CX-9 models are Turbo. Correct Me if I'm wrong because every mazda dealer I went to I saw all CX-9s models and they are all turbos. And turbos are kinda known to not be too reliable when the vehicles gets more older So they end up getting the CX-5 or a Diffrent vehicle.

      @@BabyShark-cg3sz yes I know that seems funny. However, in my particular circumstance the seats would be folded flat most of the time. I have scentwork dogs that I travel with frequently. In order to keep them comfortable I have USB fans that I use in conjunction with the rear air vents. So you see now why I need accessible ports at all times. The dogs are valuable (to me) and I do all I can to ensure their comfort and well-being. Strange and humorous as it seems the rear placement of the rear USB ports is a deal breaker even though the cx5 fits my needs in every other way.

      @@thelifeofKwunzie This was posted 3 weeks ago. I signed a lease on a 2021 CX-5 touring with $0 down payment. I only had to pay dmv fees and 1st month of the lease up front which came out to about 700. I got what I think is an okay deal since no money was given up front. $376 a month. For the sport it was I believe $355 a month, but I decided to go for the touring instead since it had some features I preferred and it was only a $20 difference. They wanted a $4k down payment, but I don’t see the point in giving so much money down on a lease. I walked out with a brand new car for only $700 and my monthly payment isn’t too expensive. I suggest you be straight up with the dealerships and tell them what you want. If they can’t make it happen visit another one. That is what I did and I went with whoever was willing to work with me and give me the best deal.

    • @ForceFreddy
      @ForceFreddy 3 года назад +1

      Just to add on this was on a 36 month lease with 12k miles a year. The deal was only for 10k miles, but they gave me the 12k without raising the monthly payment we had agreed on. They also gave me complimentary oil changes for the first 2 years of my lease.

    I've made the following observation, which makes no sense at all. The base 2021 Mazda 3 model includes LED front turn signals AND interior LED reading lights as standard equipment, while the more upscale 2021 CX-5 GT model still uses incandescent lightbulbs for both of those features. What's up with that nonsense??? Does anyone here know why the Mazda 3 gets LED lights that are denied to the CX-5 GT?
