I made these the day I saw the video. Wish we could post photos. They turned out looking just like John's. Absolutely delish. I beat the sugar and eggs for 2 minutes by a timer so they were well incorporated. I am a food scale convert thanks to John.
I have made several of your cookies and I love the fact that I can freeze them since I live alone!!! I can bake 3 or 4 and have a treat for a few days!!! Thank you for that!!! God Bless Us All!!!
Brown Sugar - no more rocks - PLACE MARSH-MELLOWS IN your brown sugar bowl - absolute miracle! It works. Your brown sugar will have the texture of kinetic sand - smooth - no more rocks or waste. LOVE IT
These look delicious! I am not a (good) cook, chef, or baker by any means so I appreciate the fact that you give reasons as to why you do things. It helps me learn. Thank you for that!
The best cookies ever. I made them for my family and they LOVEEEEE them. Thank you. I love your videos because you so detailed in your step instructions
John, these cookies are the best I have ever had!!! I added roasted hazelnuts to the mixture and they were beyond delicious..this is one of my top recipes. Thankyou..from Scotland!
Great video thanks for sharing- Made these brownie cookies shortly after watching and my husband loved them. I added coffee expresso to my cookies and baked them 1-2 minutes longer. Came out YUMMY. Will make them again :)
I just sent this recipe to a friend who had asked me a while ago for and of my Brownie recipes…so I thought she would enjoy this one…..they look amazing…..will definitely try……tks for sharing
OKAY IM NOT EXXAGERATING THIS WAS THE BEST COOKIE RECIPE EVER LIKE BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST THANK YOU SO MUCH 😭😭😭😭😭 I CANT STOP EATING THEMMMMM
Your recipes are so easy to follow. My family loves when I make your cookie recipes. They tell the cookies taste like they were baked with love . You are an awesome baker and I like your videos a lot.
Hello! Not sure if you noticed but the recipe on your website says to add baking powder in the ingredient section but then in the directions it says to add baking soda. I got confused for a second but realized it was a typo. Just wanted to let you know in case you missed it! Thank you for these lovely recipes! Currently making these delicious cookies 😋
I finally got to make these and boy are they sooo good! I don’t even eat the desserts I bake as I just love baking for others but I had to try these and I couldn’t eat just one! Thanks John for this recipe and for all the recipes you share…you’re my fav to watch…your videos are so fun and motivating, your recipes are easy to follow esp because you explain the whole process so wonderfully and everything you make looks so delicious ❤…oh! And I too am a food scale convert thanks to you!
Made these today, and they didn’t turn out like yours but they still came out nice! I didn’t get the glossy top or cracked top. But they still came out like brownie type cookies
I love baking and cooking, and i am so pleased that i have stumbled across your channel, you make everything look so easy, you dont complicate recipes, so simple and easy, thank you for all you do 💕 have a fantastic week.
It turned out so good! Tastes just like brownies but cookies shaped! Fudgy goodness 🥹 i thought it would be too sweet but nahhh it tastes pretty bittersweet which I loveee. At first, my batter looked a bit more runny than yours so I added 1 more tbsp of flour to thicken it but I'm glad it still turned out pretty fudgy! Thanks for the recipe 🥰
This recipe ( just like all of yours i have made) turned out delicious! Your videos are simple and easy to fallow, my absolute favorite person to fallow for baking❤
Hello I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness, prosperity, love ❤and peace all over the world🌏. I would love us to be good friends in honesty and in trust so as time goes on it will bring something great for us in the future, hope you don't mind? I'm Engineer Graham Bolt from Nashville Tennessee, where are you from?💙
Easy to make and delicious. My only mistake was cooling them in fridge too long. Made them very difficult to scoop. Having said that, I froze half the batch and will be enjoying them later.
I've not baked before ... And I just baked these today.... It tastessss soooooo gooooodddddd...thank you for the recepi..my fam loves it!! I'm hoping to try out a cake recipe for my sister's upcoming birthday! Sending loves from Malaysia ! ❤
I finally made these! I used caramel chocolate chips. They do taste more like a brownie than a cookie. I'd do regular chocolate chips when I make them again. These flavors didn't combine. But I made them for friends and I'm not sharing!
Ich backe sie auf jedenfall nach. Tausche aber den weißen Zucker mit Erithrit aus, 🤔das ist viel gesünder - mein Blutzucker spielt dann nicht gar so verrückt 😉 Danke für das Rezept John😊
I'm so glad I went back & watched the video as your website recipe says baking POWDER but your instructions in that same recipe say baking SODA...😬 So glad the video clarified it for me!😉
I just did this recipe, thanks :) They turned out very beautiful just like in the video. But I'm silly because I remembered that I actually don't like fudgy cookies. That thumbnail was so appetizing that I forgot.. And this one is more than a fudgy cookie it's basically a piece of gooey brownie in the shape of a cookie so I didn't really like it because for me it has nothing of a cookie. It would actually ve better without chocolate chips so it would feel as good as a brownie in the mouth. Also, I didn't realize that the chocolate used was 60%. I thought I had the same but mine was 52% only so they were way too sweet, be careful of that. But if you want something gooey those are for you.
Hello, please excuse my spelling. My oven maintains a temperature of 250*C. Still, can I make cream brole or any other recipe by leaving it in the oven longer? Thank you very much, I love the channel. Greetings from Argentina
The written instructions in step 2 calls for baking soda. Don’t use baking soda, instead use baking powder as listed in ingredients & the video. Your cookies won’t rise.
These look amazing! Would it be beneficial to add some espresso powder or would that be overkill since they are so chocolaty already? If it would enhance them, how much would be added?
Just started following you! Love your recipes and have made quite a few already. In one of your old videos u asked for cookies recipe requests. How about banana bread chocolate chip. I had one at Gideons and it was amazing. 😊
Pulling batches out of the oven now. I made mine a little larger so had to add 4 minutes (my oven sucks to so I think that’s part of it) wow. They are amazing!
I wrote it all down so here you go! :) *Brownie Biscuits* Recipe: ・ 4 oz (112g) - (unsweetened) chopped chocolate or chocolate chips ・ 1/4 cup (56g) unsalted butter ・ 1/2 (100g) cup granulated sugar ・ 1/2 (110) cup packed light (dark is optional) brown sugar ・ 2 eggs (room temp) ・*tbsp* vanilla mix with hand mixer till smooth ・ 2/3 cup (80g) all purpose flour ・ 1/4 cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder ・ 1/2 tsp salt ・ 1/2 tsp baking powder ・ 1/2 cup (90g) semisweet chocolate chips INSTRUCTIONS (please follow) chop up chocolate and place into microwave safe bowl plop in some pieces of butter too Microwave for about 20 secs Set aside to cool ・ Granulated sugar ・ Brown sugar ・ two eggs ・ Vanilla Mix with hand mixer till smooth Pour in the chocolate mixture into the sugar mixture Mix again with hand mixer Scrape the bowl Sift ・ Flour (not too much) ・ cocoa powder ・ Pinch of salt ・ baking powder Sift in Mix any lumps Fold till closely combined Add in some chocolate chips or chunks Mix in fully Cover and chill, half and hour Now set ur oven to 350 when ur ready to scoop (Uncover) Scoop and shape 350° for 10 - 12 min or till the edges are set and the top is smooth and crispy Place in oven Once done, allow to cool then enjoyy!
Hey john this looks so tempting and will definitely try it. I want to level up my baking and get a scale, a sensitive one like this, can i know which brand your skill is? And if there’s a link i can buy it from. Really appreciate you and your recipes 🙏🏻
Brown sugar does add that molasses caramelly flavor, but it's also hygroscopic, so it'll keep the cookies moist for longer. Not that those are going to last long, they'll be gobbled up in no time.
John, in the written recipe which I just copied (going to make these tomorrow for a gathering), you call for baking powder up above in ingredients but call it baking soda in the instructions. I watched the video/tutorial, I'm pretty sure it's baking powder. I love your recipes, plan to get your cook book(s)!! Thanks!! ♡D

We call them brookies in the UK 🇬🇧
These look amazing, the grandkids and the big kids will devour these. Yummmmmm
I bet these would be awesome with white chocolate chips too and give the cookie some color contrast.
Looks delicious!
