I’ve seen a previous comparison between a small capacity vehicle versus a large capacity, diesel v petrol. Until that happens these comparisons are of little value to anyone watching.
When you need to use every advantage possible in your favour it only proves one thing YOU FEAR THE COMPETITION
It's a stock on stock comparison not Ford's fault that Ford gives the Bronco fat tyres and a tow hook from stock
Edit: Not the channel's fault either it is Landy's fault.
@@vanderz1012 totally agree on your points it's ridiculous.
Which beggars the question as to why you need to have the landy pulling up hill with a bellend who just floors it !!
Which is what I'm referring to 😉
Cool, always wanted to see a tire traction test!
not a fair tug of war, defender had the wrong tires plus it was on an incline...perhaps a better even flat surface with the same tires would be a much better comparison and fair tug of war for both cars otherwise you could have a nissan patrol or even a range rover or jeep or a land cruiser with those same tires as the defender has and the result would be the same.
Defender had the tires it’s sold with. Both cars are press cars fully loaded
@@SamCarLegion i agree with you 100% some of these cars are extremely off road kings however for one to get them to that condition you have to spend abit more on a car that is already much much more expensive than the bronco, with that in mind i agree the bronco in this test right off the showroom floor is better value for money than the defender
The Bronco is battling going UPHILL!! Who setup this unfair course?
Most unfair test, the tiers, attach point for defender are all unfair.
To be equal they need same playing field.
Great video Sam
I am a Land Rover fan but loathe the new Discovery Utility named Defender. However, the Defender was at a disadvantage. Tyres and the fact it was also having to battle up hill and not on the level.
P.S. Such a shane the Bronco will never be right hand drive and available here in the UK, I would have the Bronco every day over the new Land Rover.
Several things wrong here really the tyres are not an even match also I dont know why you would put the tow rope on the side of the motor as that will pull the car sideways also the person driving the defender seems rather useless
The Bronco model with the smaller engine and the manual granny gear should be put to the test with something as well!!
So the bronco can only compete downhill against another vehicle on slicks.... Ok
Shame the bronco not coming to the UK.
Put those on dry ground. And when it comes to offroading the Landrover isn't just for looks it is completely one-hundred-percent technological Offroad vehicle and the Ford is just for trying to release something with a different body that everyone's been waiting for
Bronco by far technologically superior to Defender in terms of off-road capabilities.
Ford designed Bronco from scratch to compete with Jeep Wrangler. On contrary Land Rover redesigned legendary 4x4 to fit into soccer moms market segment.
Since when dry ground has anything to do with off-road performance? Frankly, at highway speeds Bronco feels by FAR better than Defender.
Doesn’t see like a fair comparison to me so since y’all what to do it that way just do the same test on pavement with the V8 carpathian model defender and the eco boost V6 bronco. Then we can see and hear the difference.
Are they on an uneven ground?
Yes
@@SamCarLegion that's funny on another comment you say it's camera angle??
Which is it cheat
Jeez. Could it be any more one sided! Swap sides, the Defender is pulling uphill at the start, the Bronco downhill???
When both are giving race it's a tie.
But defender guy is again and again pressing brakes
Tires matters. Period.
i think this has shown us what we already know tyres make the difference
Not just tires
@@SamCarLegionHi Sam The Defender was on 20 inch alloys with poor off road tires as opposed to 35's and better tires, try the defender with 18 inch steel and the same tires as the bronco and watch the result especially if it had the electronic diff fitted which if you intended to go off road you would have. Let all things be equal the see the result.
@@garylowe6507 Defender doesn’t come with same tires as the Bronco, unless you buy non
OEM tires, so where can we find same tires for the Defender where Land Rover themselves don’t
@@SamCarLegion Hi Sam the tires you had on the Defender are not the best OEM tires, these would be the Goodyear Dura Trac still not the best i agree plus the P400 would not be the Best Defender model for this either. The result was too one sided mainly due to the wheel and tire set up there are other factors like the electronic diff but the wheel size and tires out weigh everything else. Its a bit like putting a 2.0 Supra in one of the drag races instead of the 3.0 same vehicle different result.
@@SamCarLegion don't talk like a tool
The defender was ever pulling up hill, maybe that's because land rover didn't come with a flat peace of land 😂
Awesome!
One is designed to drive kids to school between auto service department stops. The other is a Bronco.
What about a towing test with 4 adults and towing 7000lb plus a drag race just for fun.
Yes!…l Love this channel!
Same tyres. Down hill like the Bronco different story.
Not just tires - power delivery
@@SamCarLegion agree but if we put the foot in the same shoes then it's fair to see the cars different engine outputs.
All other things equal, better off road tires = better off road traction
I don’t understand how I missed this battle
Interesting 🤟🏾😉😏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
