I honestly think they should just install the same drivetrain as the new f150 2wd that everyone keeps racing. I think it's a 8 or 10 speed and the 5.0L coyote and if they did that with a hybrid.

    •  3 месяца назад

The cheapest engine option is a pitiful, pathetic little 1.5 liter 3 (three) cylinder engine. That would be OK for a motorcycle or a golf cart but not a 4X4 trail vehicle. The old reliable 4.6 V8 with a 4 speed stick or the same auto that went in the old Crown Vics would be so much better than the crapFord is peddling.

Looks cool as anything and rides 1 million times better on road than aJeep does. In terms of pricing, well For Crying Out Loud it’s 2024 Nothing is cheap! You could get a Honda Accord for over $40,000 now so I don’t have an issue with the price. I also find the interior fit and finish and the paint quality outstanding. BTW I’m a first time Ford owner.

You can also find a base model accord for like 25k. These broncos are starting at like 45k for the base model! If you want anything half decent you are looking at like 60k for a vehicle with meh performance, a gang of recalls, and Ford reliability which hasn't been so good on the ecoboost engines. Says me who owns a Focus ST. I'm now fiat/jeep trash fan boy either, but it is true that the jeeps solid axle is much better for off roading and is substantially cheaper.

My wife and I had a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited at one time, most unreliable vehicle ever. For mostly daily driving, it had major electrical issues and needed a motor change about 80k.
We eventually got a Colorado ZR2 which, at 2 weeks new, was trailed with a Jeep club by our, at the time, 17 year old son with a learner's, and only skipped on obstacle which even lifted 2-door Jeeps were scraping front and rear bumpers.
We still have the ZR2, but just bought a 2024 Bronco Outer Banks, which don't have the front locker or sway bar disconnect, but did come with 32" tires (unfortunately, Duelers, but it now has 33" Duratracs - don't knock them, we had them on our Jeep, our ZR2 came standard with them, and they have never failed us). We like it for what we got it for, a second winter capable vehicle, to let my wife's Audi RS3 take a winter break, and our son's 1973 VW Westfalia camper van is stored all winter.
But the Outer Banks trim, drivers solid. The ZR2 with the Multimatic DSSV shocks (the same shocks on the top Camaro and Ford's FT supercar, among a few other sport vehicles) has more lean in corners than the Bronco. We were concerned about the engine choices, hearing horror stories of both, so finishing off the second week of owning the Bronco, we are not sure how long we will keep it being trading it in.

I drive stick. Ford had the best manual transmission ever put in a modern vehicle. Then they deleted it. I will never buy another 4x4 utility vehicle with an automatic transmission. The options to me in the new car market are high end sports cars, Volkswagens, or a Jeep. Once you learn how to control a vehicle properly under it's full power range and potential, you lose the desire to putt around in an automatic that can never do what you want when you want to do it.

I would say that more of the Bronco foibles mentioned here are accurate than inaccurate. I have a 2023 Bronco... the cheesy plastic interior squeaks like a banshee. I've got middle of the road tires and the road/wind noise is still awful. It is true what they say about the candle that burns twice as bright lasts half as long... less than 30,000 MI. and I had to replace the turbo unit. My neighbor up the street has a 2.7 in his Bronco and can't seem to pass a gas station without having to pull in. I've had Wranglers previously and understood from the beginning what I was getting into with them; They were of course not perfect, but I did enjoy them. @@byronlarson5534 My Rubicon X is awesome. It's vastly improved over my 2015 Sahara Altitude. I'm glad that I made the trade.
On a side note, I've never seen a whiter white! I thought my 2024 Ranger Lariat was white until I parked the Rubicon next to it.

I wouldn’t be interested in a mid-sized vehicle in any form.
That said, they look cool! The pastel colors (Easter egg) and trim packages are impressive and attractive.
    But once I saw the price…for what you’re getting…
    No thanks.

The Jeep has a solid front axle, which is much preferred by actual off-roaders over an independent front axle, which the Bronco has. The Bronco is a car for "wannabe's" to drive around in town with big tires.
Regarding Ford's turbocharged engines vs the 3.6 and especially the high-output hemi 5.7 in Jeeps, at low rpms / creeping offroad, the turbos are just barely spinning, so there is no boost. If you have a 4-cylinder engine with turbo, the low rpm torque is nowhere to be found. Low rpm creeping "requires" a big naturally aspirated engine, which the Jeep 5.7 hemi provides in spades.

There's only two ways I would ever have a new Bronco. One, it would have to be a two door only. Two, it would have to be given to me ! Even then I'd pull the engine and drop a 300 CI in-line six cylinder in it.

  • @Wildicon19

That is unfortunate. I am a fan of the Bronco, however Ford better go back to the drawing board, and simplify the Bronco's design and build a more reliable vehicle.

Yup, they just cost too damn much. I could buy one if I wanted to. But at the end of the day, it's just a suv. And it's not gonna be cool by the time it's 2-3 years old. I wouldn't even entertain buying a base model. They aren't cool when they're brand new. 😂

Piss poor fuel economy for the money the Bronco should have a 5.0 v8 to power that drive train and probably would have done a bit better not only on fuel and power but also sales. The 2 door looks more traditional than the 4 door. If Dodge can slap a hemi v8 in a pickup and sell for 51000$ ford should be able to pull off a 5 liter v8 option.

All of the reasons you listed had ZERO influence on why I will Never Buy the New Bronco.
    My Reasons.
    1. It looks like a jeep. If I want a Jeep I'll damn well Buy a JEEP!
    2. It does NOT Look Like a Bronco. See reason 1. My idea of the Bronco comes from the late 70's and 80's model of bronco. Not that shoe box looking wanna be Jeep Grand Cherokee rip off.
    3. under powered motor and too many microchips. I can't put a Holly 4 barrel on that monstrosity Hell I can't even find a way to make it run without microsoft word a power point and a windows 8 computer. Heh remember windows 8? Yeah... this Bronco is windows 8 with wheels.

This is an easy one dealership adds up debt owed ÷ cars on lot =new car prices to customers. A little more for the big up stairs and boom . It's not rocket science . If all out fails sell the dealership to another ducker and since one is born every second here in America it's not that hard to unload and get your old job back.
