I have a winch mounted to my 2 door wildtrak, but still get 18-19mpg, and it almost never leaves sport mode. Just did a 1600 mile round trip from San Diego to Moab, with 2 days of off roading included, and got 18.7mpg.
You're fuel mileage may easily be increased by increasing airflow to the intercooler. Our 2dr 2.3L on 37s is 21mpg in town and 24 hwy. We removed all the louvers and custom bumper to direct air flow. Dropped temps be 20-30 degrees in the same conditions.
Picking up a Heritage 4 door Friday. Had a 2013 Wrangler 4 door & really liked it but even though it was 98% commuter car (highway mostly too) the engine went at 91,000 & neither Mopar nor the dealership would do a thing to back their product (under on mileage, over on yrs). Anyway, no more giving them my money so I'm down to GM & Ford. Enjoyed the review, well done !
🤯 wow. That really blows (the motor 😅 and the service 👎). I almost bought the wrangler,.. but then this was announced. The Ford is generally a more sophisticated product. You’ll love it. Congrats! …And thanks for watching.
I have a 2023 two-door Outer bank, although it wasn’t my first choice because I wanted the base model. Overall, I am very pleased with the performance of my Outer Banks, and if I had it to do all over again, I would’ve just waited for the Base model.
Yeah, there was a bit of a fervour around the broncos early on. Me too, I might’ve waited for the Sasquatch with 5 speed. But it’s all good. Enjoy your bronco!
Nice update. I also have a two door Badlands 2023 model with the 2.7 engine. Previously had a 2022 four door Black Diamond with 2.3 engine. Prefer the one I have now. Averaging 18 mpg, but got 21 on a mostly back roads trip last year and recently got 20 mpg going to Super Cel in Townsend TN. Overall I am very pleased with my Bronco.
@@neverendingweekend I initially ordered a two door in January 2021 but after waiting over a year and not hearing anything my salesman suggested I change my order to a four door. It arrived November 2022. I told my salesman to order me a two door and it arrived last September. Finally got what I wanted 😎
Observations with my 5 month old 2.7L 4 door Badlands: -way more comfortable than my 4Runner -noticeably faster than my 4Runner, especially on overtakes -B&O sound system is great, at least in my opinion (makes wind noise a lot less noticeable) -I like that you can turn off all the safety assist features like lane assist, collision alert, pre-collision braking (I like having the power over life and death) -My stock Bronco absolutely destroys any of the IFS offroad competition on the market. Its like playing on easy mode wheeling with the TRD Pros Gripes: -You have to manually turn off auto start/stop every time you start the vehicle, this is very annoying -had problems with android auto 2.0 not connecting, seems to be fixed with a OTA update. -fit/quality control of the MIC hardtop leaves a lot to be desired, I have a .25" gap between the front and mid section on the passenger side. Have to be careful when washing the vehicle or water can splash inside. -Hard top whistles right above aux switch panel at freeway speeds. (Ford says they will address these problems)
I agree on all points. Hopefully Ford will do you right with the hardtop! You reminded me about my biggest pet peeve and I left it out the video, the HONK when you exit the car running with the key in your pocket! 😖
@@neverendingweekend Glad I was able to help. I have been watching a bunch of bronco videos and someone mentioned taking the interior panel off to adjust the window since theirs had too much play in it from new as well.
I the 4door 22 Badlands, 2.7 Bronco, Lux and leather/power heated seats is an option. Getting that does however , add carpet. 4door does add 3 rear seats and cup holders and lots more rear storage. Not happy with the B/O audio. I disagree with the lane assist. Lane assist it has is fine, rbles the wheel off you go off center. You can turn on resistance too. There are relocation kits for adaptive cruise sensor. This also impacts the auto crash braking. Probably one of the most important features. I love the added interior space and shoulder room. MPG ave is 16.5. not sure how you are getting so low. Soft top noise is actually practically the same as a hard top. Definitely a better deal than a Rubicon. As a early reservation holder they kept the msrp price for me into 22. My same build as a 24 model would be over $3k more.
Thanks Steve, for the insightful comment. I’m not ecstatic about the b&o,.. but I am content. Lane assist isn’t bad in itself, though I’d never use it, my disappointment is in Ford’s decision to leave out lane centering (Blue Cruise). I’d love that feature in the Bronco. It’s like Apple CarPlay. Not huge in the overall scheme, but makes things so much more enjoyable. I have a relocation bracket for my front sensor but it doesn’t work well enough to trust it. I’ve heard other similar reviews about other brackets too. I can’t speak to the factory soft top as I have the Bestop. It flaps on the highway like you wouldn’t believe. I guess, depending on how fast you’re going … which might be a hint at my bad fuel economy. 🤔😅 I was a day one reservist. I was about to buy a rubicon, then they announced the bronco and a quick (sarcastic) 2.5 years later… 💪😂👍
Just had oil changed/5 tire rotation in my 4 door ‘23. I had the seatbelt and wiper motor recalls done too. I inquired about the window update for down/up on unlock/lock, they knew nothing about it… 🙁
I suspect that the window module software update won't get done just by asking. Unless you have a very friendly service department (which I don't). Or you know someone with FDRS.
Yup. @swooshdave is correct. ‘It’s not a bug. It’s a new feature’. In other words, they aren’t fixing anything that was ‘broken’. It’s just part of the new software. So, they need to be knowledgeable or willing to do some work and be friendly. Good luck. 😅
Great review! I don't think you missed anything. For me regardless if I had planned on rear seat passengers I would have gotten the 4 door just because of the extra space. Did you turn off your lane centering? You have it. If you want more oomph off the line you need to hack and get Sport mode. That will fix it! Of course the fuel economy will also drop. I think the price gouging is pretty much gone down here. What you could have talked about was the price increase from Ford. I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped the price back down like Jeep did.
Thanks @swooshdave. Yeah, if it wasn’t just me driving by myself most of the time, I’d get a 4 door as well just for the storage space. Moving stuff is … not fun. We have ‘lane keep assist’ (warning when you veer off in your lane) but we don’t have ‘lane centering’ (keep your car actively in lane, through turns and straights. Essentially autonomous driving). Ford has ‘BlueCruise’ but whatever wisdom they decided to keep it out of the Bronco. The Bronco Sport may have it. 🤔 tThere are a few things I mentally considered to add ‘oomph’ 😜, but decided I don’t need it in the bronco. Good one about the price increase. I didn’t really research that part. 😔 Thanks for watching and the suggestions!
@@neverendingweekend Yes, lane keep assist. But not the autonomous driving (or even steering). Sport mode makes you realize that the Bronco actually has 330hp. Before I was starting to wonder.
You would have been happy with the 2.3 if you wanted a std transmission. It has almost as much power as the 2.7. What many don’t realize is both ecoboost engines make more power on premium fuel.
You’re are probably right. But presented with the ‘bigger/better’ thing, and my human nature takes over. 🤦♂️ I’d probably regret my decision if I ever got to drive a manual Bronco. I just have to make sure I never do that. 😅
lol. Well, I want trying to sell you anything. 😁 But, if you do end up getting a bronco, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. I feel like all the bugs have been worked out now. Happy trails!
Your right. But I’ve had other cars with this feature and never had I had to wait instead of just opening the door like I naturally would. They even updated the software, which suggests the mechanism was incorrectly timed before.
Abounds with cheap hard plastic. I can"t get past that cheap plastic rear "bumper". Where is the steel? Ford builds on the edge. Farley and Board must be fired for their multi Billion Dollar losses.
I love the 4Runner. If the bronco didn’t have a removable top, I’d probably have bought the Toyota. I’m terms of reliability, i guess calling a Ford ‘junk’ vs a Toyota is fair. 😅 In terms of ‘eating and spitting it out’… depends on the scenario. If it’s off-road. I doubt it. Wheel travel, clearance, approach/departure/breakover angles, etc, suggest otherwise. 🤔
Sooo the 4Runner is dated still has a 5 speed underpowered v6. With the squatch package the bronco eats the 4 runner in a straight line. Also the bronco is on a truck frame and weights 6200 pounds the 4 runner weights 4800 pounds. Bronco is a more solid vehicle

There is a way to tighten the " floppiness " out of the windows. A lot of them left the factory being un-adjusted.
