MJF and Hangman are two rising stars from AEW. They deserve credit for that. I'm surprised Jim does not discuss Vince and Triple H rejecting MJF.
I think he has before I might be wrong but it's normal, they have let a lot of good wrestlers go away though I think MJF is better off in AEW or other companies since his character is not PG
What's so great about hangman? He's very average. He's got no promo skills, his moves are the same generic njpw moves that all those guys have. He's basically a young Bradshaw.

One thing is for sure AEW existing is a good thing for wrestling overall and for the wrestlers.
Tony is still new in the wrestling business and will learn to improve his product in the future because he listens to his fans and critiques.
@Ryan Wilson nothing happens overnight, AEW is here to stay, give it time I guess, if AEW didn't exist alot of the wrestlers would be paid less and be unemployed during the pandemic, they have done alot of good too.
I am not an AEW or a WWE guy, I just enjoy good wrestling in general.
CM punk came back because of AEW, WWE consistently is putting on good smackdown shows and summer slam was fun with becky n brock coming back.
@Ryan Wilson can't really be certain of what's going to happen in the future, if AEW becomes another ROH/Impact kinda company or if in a few years time WWE is gonna sell to Disney lol, don't get so amped up over AEW vs WWE bullshit.
Just enjoy what you like to watch and stop being so negative, at the end of the day doesn't matter which show gets whatever views.

So enjoy this shit while it lasts.
Don't know what the future holds.
We can speculate and criticize all we want.
@Ryan Wilson yes AEW is a botchfest, lots of green wrestlers , lots of high risk moves which if not pulled by experienced people injure wrestlers. But with guys like Bryan, punk, Bray , buddy things will get better.
And the botchy wrestlers will stay at AEW dark n elevation.
I personally love darby Allen, Sammy n MJF.
@Ryan Wilson Darby is my current favorite, there is a reason why he is punks first match at all out.
He reminds me alot of Jeff Hardy when he was getting pushed in WWE n winning championships when he was feuding Punk.
I hope Sammy gets a push soon too. MJF is will beat Jericho again at all out and temporarily retire him to be a commentator at all out.
It's totally fine that you don't like him lol but I enjoy his matches, his dives are ridiculous and eventually injuries will catch up to him and he will be done wrestling in a few years time.
He doesn't plan to be a wrestler for life either.
Because listening to the fans has done WWE well in the last 6 years.
I hope one day they do a rewind and do a listen-along to these. 😂😂. I'm sure Jim would laugh his ass off the whole way through.
Going to be extremely interesting now that Tony Khan will be spending more time listening to Punk than the Bucks
It would be great if Punk made AEW into a show with actual wrestling, but it'll be hard to rid of the bad taste of AEW out of my mouth.
We can only hope

"Japanese Outlaw Girl Pipeline" sounds like an interesting album name 🤣🤣🤣
I look at AEW like an expansion team. They had to start with scraps of talent and a few stars. Guys like Cody, Jericho, Moxley known by most wrestling fans mixed with the independence stars got them through the first few seasons. Tony has made AEW an attractive place to all wrestlers. They are starting to land big name talented guys now and are ready to starting pushing towards being number 1. Regardless of what you think about the product it appears that Tony K knows what he is doing with the business.
Like JR says on his podcast, most wrestler problems can be attributed to cash and creative. TK figured out that by being better than WWE in those areas, he can have a recruiting advantage.

Brian is spot on. This all comes down to when certain EVPs lose their power. Namely the Young Bucks. Cody has shown he’ll put over goes like MJF, Brody Lee and Alister Black. Omega just wants to have 5 star matches. Once the Bucks have less pull they can have a serious tag team division.
When Cody puts people over in devastating fashion you know he's about to do tv.
Lol, what? Cody literally jobs out everyone as soon as they come from wwe.
AEW will be a better place when the old bucks are gone, and better tag teams have something to fight for.
Yep 100% there’s a lot of people that took interest in AEW starting up but were put off by the bucks. I assume when they finally end their first reign of terror there will be a rise in viewers but if they went on hiatus or left that’s when they’d really gain. They have genuine xpac heat, in fact it should be renamed. Even omega with his gesticulating doesn’t have the same loathsome presence, because despite those odd habits, he’s still capable of putting a decent match on.

This aged well
As great as CM PUNK'S return was, the luster and excitement of it will not last forever and sooner or later AEW will HAVE TO produce some quality storytelling/matches that propel younger talent which granted, they are trying to do with Darby.
I'm somewhat hopeful but Professional Wrestling as an overall product just doesn't have the same sort of widespread cultural support nor influence as it once did (as evidenced by the general low ratings across ALL promotions compared to the 80s,90s and earlier decades).
Its not just prowrestling thats getting low ratings, its literally EVERYTHING. The news, tv shows, sitcoms, hell even the Olympics was trending because it got the lowest tv ratings ever in history.
There's a grand exodus from cable television and from traditional content that cable tv produces. Its all about user created content, youtube, twitch, binge watching series on Netflix, etc.
@@Lalo_thr
Agreed, legacy forms of media entertainment have ran their course essentially and newer user created content by smaller creators are in high demand right now. Anybody who has access to a computer with recording equipment and editing software can try and make it on RUclips, Twitch, Instantgram, Twitter, Facebook or whatever else have you.
It's fast, more relatable (to young people, me included) and most important above all else, it's really convenient.
Never has there ever been such an insane amount of ready to be consumed entertainment content so readily available at the tip of our hands. Why sit and watch hours of wrestling when one can watch movies, stream TV shows, play youtube AND browse on the their phones all in real time at the same time.
Idk .... on the one hand It's nice to have this ludicrous level of convenience but then again, I feel like all of this is destroying our humanity. It's just too much entertainment and outside influence.
@@bandage4uhoney520 yeah well said, but at the end of the day its the person's responsibility to consume anything/everything in moderation. Even drinking too much water can be bad for you apparently
"Produce some quality storytelling/matches" opposing to what...WWE? IMPACT? MLW or else? Why do everybody wishes AEW be something else? They dont't want it to be WWE so it's not. Shouldn't you be happy? And next time you wanna point to low quality matches, please identify with not low quality matches you watch on the other channel. But maker sure to compare apples with apples. Don't come with a match involving Brandon Cutler for AEW and one with Roman Reigns in WWE. Honesty you know. Being non biased you know. Being equal et just. I'm tired of this AEW bashing as if WWE were immune to low quality content. The one thing that elevates their shows is the impeccable production with the myriad of lights and lasers and pyro. Enough for AEW haters? Then go to a Cirque du Soleil show in Vegas.

The way I see it AEW has two key advantages:
1. They probably have a higher percentage of their audience who really likes what they're doing than WWE does these days
2. They've become the place that a lot of wrestlers seem to see as a more pleasant and preferable working environment.
They could potentially build a lot of momentum on those two things
The most attractive thing about AEW to me is the creative freedom given to wrestlers for there promos and the fact that AEW is TV-14.
I agree. People are clearly happier there, they need to figure out the booking and spots. I think they're going to evolve and get better and better as the experienced people come in and help the greener talent.
@@dannygrinder8528 people being happier doesn't translate to viewership or growing an audience. How about actually creating larger than life stars that can draw people in?

I'm an AEW fan but I don't belong to that part of AEW fans that are sensitive, I know that AEW is not perfect and they still have a long way to go but let me tell you something: the company has future. I can't say that they are doing everything bad because they're not, CM Punk is the best evidencie we have right now. They do some thinks that I don't like but I indeed enjoy it more than WWE's RAW and Smackdown, the best thing in WWE right now is Roman but even he was affected by some of the creative team's ideas and didn't look strong or credible. WWE is nostalgia and they are part of my childhood memories, but when it comes to pro wrestling you need to throw away your feelings and memories to make a good review. I even watch other companies like NJPW, Impact, ROH, CMLL, AAA, etc. but AEW is the one that gave me back my love for pro wrestling with NJPW. WWE will always be something special for me but I think AEW is right now the company that makes me happy to be a pro wrestling fan. I sincerely apologize if my opinion doesn't like you and/or makes you feel angry, don't pay attention to what a stranger says and remember that my opinion is not your opinion and I respect your opinion even if you insult me.
I stopped watching WWE in 2004. Now NWA is my favourite pro wrestling show and AEW my favourite sports entertainment show, knowing that nothing is perfect.
I would personally take 2021 Smackdown over any other wrestling show, but I've put Dynamite over Raw for maybe a year now. Which is funny, because for a long time Dynamite was highlighted by really bad segments that were influenced or even outright stolen from famous Raw segments, but somehow Raw has become a worse imitation of Dynamite's imitation of classic Raw.
I enjoy impact, some mlw and AAA I catch when I can, njpw, NWA, ROH. I'm just a wrestling fan period. I dont pledge allegiance to anything except the Carolina Panthers.
At least AEW gives a shit about wrestling. Almost every wwe match is a joke now. The insist on pushing giant meat heads that can't wrestle. Every single time they somehow manage to stumble on something decent they manage to make it stupid. I'd AEW perfect? No, but it's way easier to forgive them because they aren't actively insulting me.

AEW is a relatively new company with a lot of momentum. WWE is a profitable company with a large archive from multiple companies they acquired along with their own. My hope is that TK will mature and depart from numerous gimmick matches, hardcore matches that randomly happen with no build and long term heated feuds that are consistent and pay off at the end. One company is overly reliant on the past to the detriment of its own success and trying to force chosen top talent down the fan’s throats. While the other is like a little kid playing with action figures in his room while the dad peeks in the door once in a while.
Perfect analogy
That new company argument doesn't work because everything is available at your fingertips now. If the majority of fans were actually sick of WWE then they would've led to AEW, instead their fanbase consists of the vocal minority of the neckbeards and IWC. It's very possible that after they sign all these "surprises" their ratings may go no higher than 1.3mil.

What people don’t understand is: it’s not about the position on the card it’s about the storylines and the portrayal.
booking does not equal the push
A good villain needs a good hero, and a good hero needs a good villain.
stuff like the Lacey Evans storyline hurts Charlotte in the long-term, even if she is being pushed to be champion currently
pro wrestling is just as much a sport as it is a soap opera, if the stories being given to the performers are bad: it hurts them

Or maybe Vince actually watched an episode of AEW and saw many of the similar body types and decide to say "No more old guys, indy workers and little people."

I think the 2 career altering injuries is what hurt Bryan’s career, far more than any WWE booking blunders. He was a main event guy until his final night in the company. & the fans saw him as such
Exactly, Jim's talking out of his asshole. Bryan beat three guys twice his size on the same night to win the world title and not even a month later he was gone due to injury, you can't fault that on booking
I think he just wants to wrestle other people outside of the WWE. And now has the opportunity to do so. As a fan, and someone generally concerned about his health, I hope he's making the right decision for himself & his family. I think it's a mistake if he ever wrestles in NJPW, and AEW, well, we'll see. They've had too many instances in their short time of being a promotion w/ improper work that has led to injuries.

That All Out PPV was top notch. That Cage Tag Match was the highlight for sure. Sure Punk was great and Bryant was awesome too, but that cage match stole the show. To be fair, I think the fact that JR is going to be transitioning into a background role, more than likely talent relations, it feels like AEW is getting their game face on. Khan runs the show, and the Elite's influence over him is not as unchallenged as it was. I also would consider the fact that Vince has bragged about beating TNT for over a decade now as being a reason that even newer TNT execs might want a "rematch".

Honestly if AEW can’t build their own stars and just steal leftovers then they can’t be considered “competition”. WCW made stars. TNA made stars. ROH made stars. NJPW made stars.
Didn’t WWE also steal established WCW and ECW talent during the late 90’s?

A bulk of the success that AEW has right now is because of self inflicted wounds that WWE did unprovoked. If this is a war, WWE is giving AEW the ammunition. The key is whether or not AEW knows what to do with it.

Any smart person would know two things:
1) AEW's "momentum" is phony and based on injecting talent into the company and not what they're doing with the talent. Names don't matter without a story.
2) AEW's "momentum" isn't sustainable. There's only so many people you can hire for pops and the pop can only last for so long. The CM Punk pop already diminished and he isn't drawing because he ain't wrestling on TV.
Last talking about the Khans buying WWE...
Sure, if they wanted to liquidate some of their assets they could buy WWE but that's not pocket change. Last is just obsessed with this idea of WWE being sold.
Until AEW affects WWE's business, which it doesn't at present time, this is a pointless conversation.
Put whoever you want in AEW, unless you write better TV then nothing matters.
Hogan, Duggan, Earthquake, Nasty Boys, Bossman, Savage, Hall, Nash, DiBiase, Piper all jumped from WWF to WCW between 1993-1996 and those are bigger stars than anyone WWE released lately. WCW only really gained serious momentum when they came up with the nWo storyline which turned Hogan heel. The names alone didn't turn the corner by themselves.
Jim is one of those people who thinks CM Punk is a bigger star than he reslly is. The show is still trash and they still feature subpar talent like Red Velvet, Orange Cassidy, etc.
"AEW will operate as an organization completely independently from my other interests. It will not deter attention or divert resources from any of my businesses, teams, projects or investments. In reality, most of those old school ROH guys are malcontents. Austin Aries, Low Ki, CM Punk, Kevin Steen, Young Bucks, El Generico, they're arrogant shitheads that caused problems in the lockerroom. This is the first breakdown of WWE vs. AEW I've heard that made sense from a WWE pov. Vince looking at the AEW show and going, "Carny show" makes sense. And now...he is feeding them talent, and they are changing some.
I haven't put my finger on it before this, but AEW booking is kinda bad. And the feuds aside from the "big" feuds are always nonsensical and boring. 20 second setups in front of an AEW banner are not enough to fuel an interesting feud.
