  • Cabinet door hinges aren't the shining star of your kitchen cabinets or furniture piece. But when you use that door 10 or 20 times a day, you're going to notice a huge difference between good and bad hinges.
    That's why, when I built our new kitchen cabinets for our new house, I made sure to get good, high quality hardware that would last a long time. I used Liberty Hardware for both my drawer slides and my hinges and I highly recommend them if you are wanting to install new cabinets, or upgrade your existing cabinets...or even if you are using them on a vanity, furniture piece, etc.
    My husband calls me a bull in a China shop, so I tend to be a little rough on our cabinets, and furniture. But these hinges have taken a beating and still work like a charm. The soft close feature is perfect for people (like me) who don't like to take time to gently close a door each time it's open. ...whoops, HA.
    And, not only are they good for the long haul, but with three adjustment options (that I will show you in detail in the video), you don't have to worry about getting them PERFECTLY aligned when installing or about crooked doors or doors rubbing on the cabinet boxes.
    If you are looking to upgrade your standard hinges on your existing cabinets, or use concealed hinges on your next DIY furniture build, check out this how to video to show you how to install these hinges and use the adjustment features.

    Very well explained video, over here in the UK we use these type of hinges alot for all types of cabinets, from kitchen to bedroom wardrobes and the slow close type are great, especially if you have kids who like to bang their wardrobe doors shut. Thanks.

    Ok so I have been more or less building cabinets following almost all of your instructions but these hinges are messing with me bad. I used 3/4 inch plywood like you and I bought the same hinges you linked in your description. In this video I would say the one thing you left out that I need is what setting did you use on the concealed hinge jig? I bought the Kreg one like you used. I don’t know if it’s me overthinking or what but can you just tell me what number on that little dial you set the jig to. I’m going crazy.

      The hinges should specify the setting with the instructions that come with them. Different brands/styles will vary. However, most of the time, I just keep mine at 5mm

      @@WoodshopDiaries Thank you so much for responding! I was having a total freak out moment again. I guess I’m just stressed trying to build kitchen cabinets for my mom’s kitchen and since she is paying for everything I’m trying not to mess anything up. Plus I’m no pro and this whole experience is a first time for me. So I have been watching your videos on loop lol! Thank you for the help!

      They're hickory plywood. You can check them out here: www.woodshopdiaries.com/how-to-build-your-own-diy-kitchen-cabinets-2/

    It won't rub if they are side by side or a perpendicular wall right next to it?

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  4 месяца назад

      There’s a spacer block between cabinet and wall. But, no, they dont rub being side by side next to other cabinets.

      @@WoodshopDiaries Without a spacer block between the wall I am wondering if it will work? I am trying to refurbish some old plywood cabinets but they originally had some old pivot hinges I took out

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  4 месяца назад

      @TheMendo123 I think a spacer block will be necessary-both for the door and for the baseboard that will butt up to it

    • @TheMendo123
      @TheMendo123 4 месяца назад

      @@WoodshopDiaries Well there is no baseboard because it is a overhead cabinet. You think I will have to remove the cabinet to install a spacer block there?

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  4 месяца назад

      @TheMendo123 is recommend hanging a door on the cabinet and seeing first. I’ve never not used a spacer block against a wall, so I’m not sure.
