    Bought this beauty 2 months ago and it’s hardly left my wrist since. As someone who normally changes watches every 2-3 days, that’s a first for me. It’s just so comfortable and fits beautifully.

    Cartier should consider using ceramic for the bezels.

    Thank you for the review. Stellar content and detailed analysis.
    I own the 2 tone variant of the Santos and love it. The all black is a very intriguing option. The only drawback I see is the inability to have the watch(specifically the Bezel) polished when it eventually starts showing wears and tear.
    Cheers to you and your wife on your nuptials. I assume use both Santo's as his and hers' watches.

      Glad you liked it! And thank you. We went the classic and vintage route for the wedding Santoses - Galbee XL x Carree LM. :)
      I plan to get a gold bezel, vertically brush it, and install it on the ADLC down the road to "recreate" the black and gold Santos 100 released years ago. I'll likely do a future video on that once I get around it.

    I swear by coating my watches with a layer of clear nail varnish. Each year I give my watches a fresh coat. Doesn’t hide the scratches or dings very well I just enjoy doing it.

      @@ChezDoesStuff yes that's the feeling I got when I found it - I had a collection of four watches in mind but actually I think this alongside a dressier watch and a diver will be perfect for what I'm looking to achieve. It's great you can get out and use it as that's what was making me think I'd need another watch to supplement a normal/non-ADLC Santos. All the best and thanks again for the video!

    The problem with the coated variants of the santos is that eventually, they will show wear and tear. When the coated versions start showing wear, having them polished is not an option.

    Best vid on this watch. Surprised you didn’t mention the mis-match chrome buckle. Cartier could have done better. Also the fake screws stop to soon. They should go down at least two more rows.

    • @ChezDoesStuff
      @ChezDoesStuff  4 месяца назад

      I agree with the mismatched deployant. It should've been ADLC. The 3 rows of screws, on the other hand, look just right to me.

    I just got mine, and wow, it's so light (3.0 OZ) that it almost feels fake. The crown is also easy to open and close compared to my carrier, Balloon Blau. I would love your videos to show more of the functions of the watch, opening and closing the clasps, playing with the crown, speaking of the weight, etc. Otherwise, great. Thank you.

      There are some strap providers online if you in look hard enough. Delugs used to have them, but I suspect intellectual property issues forced them to take their listings down.

    Heya man, thanks for the informative review! I have the blue dial one as yours and was also eyeing the ADLC version just because yeah, it's sportier and has lume etc. Though personally, I don't feel like it makes sense having 2 of the same watches even though they are just different colors. But that is what some watches do to you hahaha - Anyways, if you could only have one, would you keep the blue or the adlc?

      You're welcome and thanks for stopping by! That's a tough question, to be honest. Both pieces have their merits. I'd probably lean towards the blue piece, but only because it's less common and has more memories attached to it!

    The Cartier Santos is an iconic beautiful but I would not buy one. Why? Because the Santos is extremely scratch prone, especially on the high polished bezel. Cartier knows about this flaw and refuses to fix it, meanwhile, RUclipsrs keep making excuses for the flawed and subpar metal casing. Silver colored watches, such as stainless steel and titanium, are the defacto metal of choice. Why, in 2024, aren't manufacturers making "scratch-proof" watches? There are PVD coatings and nomenclatures like 316L steel, super titanium, TinSkin 3.0, and platinum encasements. A company as profitable and well funded as Cartier has no excuse for making watches that are scratch prone. Invest a little R&D and fix this problem. It's not just a Cartier problem, but most luxury watchmakers don't put in the effort to ensure their watches are "scratch-proof" or as scratch resistant as possible. It's a shame. For this reason alone I would never buy a Cartier Santos. Profits above all. So what are the most scratch resistant metals? Tegiment steel and UltraHex titanium.
