    Cartier definitely should do it in the medium for this and the sunburst blue and grey dial🙂

      I tried this watch on and as it is black, it gives the impression that it is smaller than its size. Even on the wrist. That's probably why they have only released this in the large. Added bonus for some is that it has a date. Tried on the stainless steel medium and large, and the large comes across as too big for my 7 inch wrist. Looks like a square block on the wrist rather than the medium which looks more refined and smoother fit. The black santos however, looks in proportion.

      @@richardman28
      If you have a 7inch wrist, the unisex sized medium looks on the dainty side.
      They both are square cased watches, so I don't get the block comment. I own the 2 tone 39.8mm and my girlfriend rocks the 39.8mm stainless stainless model. Her wrist is substantially smaller than 7 inches, but the curved design of the case and how the bracelet hugs her wrist is anything but a block.
      No offense intended, you buy and wear what you want in good health.
      But the big boy version of the Santos all day.

    • @richardman28
      @richardman28 3 месяца назад

      @@rafaeloliva6425 no offensive taken. That's why we collect watches. Everyone has their own opinions and how they see design. Having handled alot of Cartier santos models in the past, the XL Galbee is the best proptioned in my opinion. I do stand by my comment that the large looks like a block on my wrist compared to the other Santos and my other square case watches. The reason being because of the size you don't see much of the bracelet which is one of the selling features of the watch. Also, every wrist is different as you may have a flat top on the wrist or a rounder wrist which was pointed out by my vacheron AD when I collected a watch and deciding whether the rubber or the leather strap looked better on my wrist. Wear your watches in good health. 👍

    Cartier all day over a Panerai. The Santos has solidified well over 100 years of a watch that hits on all cylinders. It’s dress, sports, 100m WR, tool, and the first men’s wrist watch. I like the look of Panerai but not a huge fan of their movements for the price. I respect that Panerai also haven’t changed their design though

    Enjoying the Cartier in bad ass black - it looks like it would be equally at home with a Tux or with a Boss leather jacket. I’ve tried on the vanilla white dial and although I only have a 7 inch wrist it hugs the wrist in a very comfortable way. I’d be a little concerned about scuffing the watch and the steel beneath showing through so you’d have to be extra careful with it. But it looks cool. I’d want 20% off retail.

    Santos looks elegant yet sporty. Submersible looks very sporty and looks like a watch that can actually take a beating. I think the Cartier is more versatile, it can be worn with anything. It can be that one watch collection piece, whereas with the Panerai you would need another watch. No clear winner for me personally though, I like them both! But if it would be one watch, then i’m going for Cartier.

    I own the Santos 39.8mm 2 tone, and my girlfriend rocks the 39.8mm in stainless steel. The main issue is that the bezels are prone to scratch easily.
    However, both of these build materials are easily polished. I'm told the black Santos has a much more scratch resistant finish. But what recourse does a potential buyer have if they do manage to scratch this model?

    That Santis is trying to be something it isn’t. Why buy an expensive watch to pretend that it is a stealth machine. There are far better watches at a more modest price range which give off better stealth vibes and which are intended to be stealth machines. It is just pretentious. I’d go for the Panerai, but again the same reasoning applies which again is pretentious. Far better to have both designs in their original design format.
