    Awesome video and Mike was super helpful finding the right kit for my carb!

    The float pin/pivot is held in place by the small wire clip that was on the original float on the carb, and a replacement is included in Mike's kit. The new brass seat will have a groove around it. That groove is where the clip will snap into place, holding the float assembly down. Mike's kits are very good, and his knowledge and willingness to share what he knows are worth buying a new kit from him. If you're wondering, I don't work for him. He just has the best info and parts.

    You can make your own check weight/rod by using a 7/64" drill bit. Cut and grind the shaft down to 7/8". I had an extra 2100 and 2150 one with a rod and one without.
    Fortunately, I had a hard rubber drill index that had the sizes printed on it. 3/32" was close and 1/8" a little too big. 7/64th was perfect. This way, the weight of the rod will be correct.
    It was steel. I checked with a magnet.

    Hey Mike, thanks for all your great help. I am having an issue with fuel coming up through the vent tubes when cranking the engine. I'm not pressing the accelerator and of course it floods the engine horribly. Any ideas on what's causing this. Seems like it would be needle/seat problem. I've tried adjusting float to both extremes hi and low.

    i have a 2bbl motorcraft carb on my 79 cherokee amc 360. got it as a reman from parts store, been good up until now . has a lot of lag off idle most of the time . have to do a quick double tap of gas to get it going . think it just needs to be cleaned ? or could it be timing ? i have it set at about 10 deg. wondering if there was any issues with that because of the carb

    Hi Mike, thanks for the videos! I have a jetting question: Without purchasing every jet size, is there a rule of thumb to reduce the CO readings at 2000 rpm from 5% down to about 1%? I'm working on a '79 Ford 400M with #54 jets producing high CO at 2000.

    4:10 question: I had a 2150 from an 83 mustang that had a float spring as well as a float clip. I am now working a used 2100 from a 66 Mustang 289 that does not have this float spring. The question is, do all Motorcraft 2100 and 2150 have this float spring or only certain models? The spring I'm referring to is an L shape and slides onto the float pivot shaft. One arm clips under the float and the other clips onto the carb body itself. Thanks.

    Hi mike, I have a 2100 series carb kit The carb was popping bad,so i got the kit and when i took the carb apart I noticed that the Venturi cluster assembly, (the outer brass shift is spit right side ),does this matter ,and how do i get me one,or do i have to buy the hole assembly,and do you sell them Thanks mich. why was the carb popping ,because it is still doing the popping,is it because of the venturi cluster assembly shift spit.

    Mike took your advice on tech site, adjusted float and it started but it would run for a while then just quit,i want to order new metering jets the specs say 50f and 48f i don't understand if both metering jets are 50f or 48 f or one of each, & do you sell them

    Hi I'm having trouble with my 2100. on a 289. I took it apart and it looked like a brand new carb inside out but the float jet clip to the float was missing. When I put it back together it started fine but the next day it started then died and now it's not starting again. Would that clip cause these symptoms?

    • @NWA-yl7ss
      @NWA-yl7ss 7 лет назад

      So I did some troubleshooting and that is the problem. I took the cover off the carb and it was dry. Cranked the engine (ignition coil not connected) and not a drop came in the carb. Then I tried pulling the needle and I heard air rushing in (it was sucked in). Cranked the engine and a fuel fountain came out and made a huge mess. That clip caused 2 previous owners to sell a near perfect mustang for a third of its value. Would have done the same if I hadn't watched this video and realized that there supposed to be a clip. Thanks will order the kit.

    Hi Mike. I'm rebuilding a 2 bbl "2100" from my 1969 F100 with 390/C6. One of the brass venturi cluster pipes is craked long ways. It is stamped 2S 2G on the venturi gasket surface. Where can I get a replacement part?

    When I push on the brass rod on top of the check ball and do the test as you did it, a lot of fuel comes up. You said that we should feel some pressure and maybe a small amount of fuel. What does that mean for me?

    • @jmwman675
      @jmwman675 7 лет назад

      Actually, it would appear my ball is missing... lol

    • @jmwman675
      @jmwman675 7 лет назад

      The worst part is, I think I lost the check ball when I did the test while the carb was still bolted to the engine...

    • @jmwman675
      @jmwman675 7 лет назад

      Either that, or I never put it in in the first place. I checked my old parts since I kept them and I found two check balls.
