That's awesome that these pioneer units work with the newer civics. The factory units are still lame, even in the 2018 civics. I didn't have to ground the parking wire on my 8000NEX, there was a way to disable it in the settings. But I guess that doesn't work in every model.
If I didn’t have a 14 i definitely would’ve done this by now. Not gunna lie I’m jealous that the after market head using supports android auto and Apple car play lol. I might do the ground bypass because like you said entering an address or doing anything without the e break up does get a tad bit annoying. Anyway keep up the good work man 🤙🏽
That’s a stock feature of the 2013 and 2014 civic si. 2013 was basically the interior of a 2014 minus the touch screen and turn signal mirror camera without the keyless entry.
Does this video work with my 2014 Honda Covid sedan. Lx, cause I hoping to upgrade my radio, but I was also wondering if my backup radio is gonna work with a new radio
Yep.. I'm just starting this exact install.. and I have no idea about the wiring part of all this. The unscrewing and screwing is the easy part. No clue what parts to buy or what wires go where.
Hey whats up... So did you use a i-mid interface or steer wheel interface to get the radio to even work. And also, did you have to tap into the factory amp at all?
Alex Martinez how’s it going man. I didn’t have to do any of that. The imid display will still work just without the radio feature. You’d need an interface if you want to use the steering wheel controls like “next track” or “volume up”. The factory amp will still work. That’s how I set mine up. Just make sure that the blue wire on your aftermarket harness and the aftermarket radio harness are wired up so the aftermarket radio can turn the oem radio amp on.
@@clutch0514ahh sh!t, that's were i went wrong. I didnt even think about the remote wire. So use to that wire always goin to aftermarket amp, didnt even think it would go to the factory one. Makes sense now lol. Appreciate that man.
brother i just have a couple questions, the oem dash you're talking about is this the part number: 77250-TR7-C11ZA? how do you ground for the parking break to be "always on"
React Hey Man. If it’s the 13-15 Dash and not the 2012 that should be the right part number. Regarding the ground you can take the green parking brake wire and either connect to the headunit ground or attach it to a bolt that goes into the cars metal frame.
Andrew Yoon not at all. Just the regular wiring harness worked since the head unit acts like the audio source before the Amp. I just lowered the gain on the head unit to compensate for the distortion I found. For best quality though, I highly recommend to bypass the factory amp if you can
Andrew Yoon thanks man! It’s easy. On the headunit there should be a speaker level menu. I set mine to -10 on all 4 channels and it sounds like oem now
I have a signal but I can not make my speakers work I have a 2012 Honda Civic if with factory amplifier What do I have to do to make the speakers work or what do I have to buy?
you don't have to buy anything extra. I have a feeling you probably just have to check the radio wiring harness and make sure the blue remote wire is hooked up to the factory one so the factory amp can turn on
Not at the moment. I've been trying to find a used one off a crashed Si or something because the Stealership wants 300 for the OEM 2013 navigation carbon fiber dash piece by itself lol
Any issues with the iMID screen not turning off despite the ignition being turned off? That happened to me when I had my Kenwood headunit in my 2014 Si. The iMID nearly killed my battery! Reverted back to the stock headunit and the problem went away.
JJCA TV here in the US the civic SI come with a red speedometer instead of blue. If you want to switch to red, some people buy the rpm guage and speedometer used from an si if you’d like the same setup
Jays Customs this is one I got off eBay but if we’re you I’d try to get the oem civic si navigation panel, and the metra dash kit for that so it looks oem and matches the other trim in the car
Pablo Egipto I got mine from RadioShack before they closed down lol. You can probably find them on eBay though or maybe at a guitar part shop since they use them for the pickups
Mugetsu_Si yeah. I saw someone with the lanewatch with his aftermarket headunit. I’ll need to buy those harnesses. It’s my subs that sound like crap rn bc the rca signal is probably crap. My friend had a 8th gen with a kenwood headunit and it was crazy loud
@@Virt7_ lol definitely. The RCA output is significantly better on aftermarket units and you have more control over your sound too. Eq is your friend. I tried a LOC (line out converter) on the stock unit and it was a no go.
Mugetsu_Si I’m hoping the shit actually fits tho. I just did some research and the soundstream has a really good rca output and some nice features for only like 200 bucks
Nick Sites I believe this guide can be used for non Si models too. Just keep in mind that the harness might be slightly different but the dash itself is overall the same
Ahh Thanks man. Yeah mine is a 2013. I found the actually dash kit I just can’t find the bezel that goes around the radio so that it won’t have a gap there. I’ve looked but I can’t seem to find it.
i wish this trend of putting touch panels in cars for shit would just end... im actually looking at downgrading my stereo head unit in my ex L because of this... i really dislike it
If you have navigation stock, and it’s a ‘13 you’d have to use a different dash kit because it retains the factory carbon fiber trim piece. Everything else should theoretically be the same.
Turn the background music way down next time. Can barely hear you
Agreed. Geez
apologies for that. I was learning how to edit videos at the time.
@@clutch0514 all constructive. Have a good day
thanks for this video! Been looking for this for hours!

Aaron Shirzadi thanks man! I appreciate the feedback. You keep doing your thing too.
I thought the chromecast only works with wifi? I bought a certain roku that doesn't require wifi for screen mirroring and it works great
Grant McGuire I was able to get it running off my phone’s hotspot feature and also it works great. Definitely give it a try
I believe you can enter a pin of some sort to connect to it without wifi but I could be wrong lol
what wiring harness did you use?
Very informative video but the background music is too loud.
Thank you for the feedback. At the time, I was still learning how to edit and didn't have a good grasp on audio levels.
How did you do the custom wall paper?
Where did you carbon fiber where the radio Knobs are at
That’s a stock feature of the 2013 and 2014 civic si. 2013 was basically the interior of a 2014 minus the touch screen and turn signal mirror camera without the keyless entry.
Have a link for parking brake bypass? Fixing to install avh-w4500nex, good video nice fb6 bro

Any chance you can give some tips on wiring the module to retain the steering wheel controls??
I know that there’s a module you can purchase usually from idatalink and it will come with instructions specific to your vehicle.
It’s nice. Matt black is better than the carbon fiber. No glare ,you should change the left ac vent piece to non carbon fiber
what’s the adapter for the small screen ?
So do I buy a single or double din receiver to replace my stock receiver.
Whichever you prefer. The dash kit can support both but a double din can flow better with the dash.
@@clutch0514 thanks!
Hey, can you add links to everything you bought, including the by pass switch?
Yep.. I'm just starting this exact install.. and I have no idea about the wiring part of all this. The unscrewing and screwing is the easy part. No clue what parts to buy or what wires go where.
Pironeer has a Software Bypass mechanism that you just have to do only once.
I really need to know how you wired the kill switch for Ebrake bypass; please help!
Rolland Clifton I used a toggle switch. One end is wired to the lime green wire and the other to the ground
Does your back up camera display on the radio instead now?

what kind of rims/wheel covers you got? They look nice and looking to replace mine.
Stock 2013 civic si wheels
did you need a hdcc-01 to make your speakers work?
Andrew Yoon not at all. Just the regular wiring harness worked since the head unit acts like the audio source before the Amp. I just lowered the gain on the head unit to compensate for the distortion I found. For best quality though, I highly recommend to bypass the factory amp if you can
ok thanks for the info! how did you lower the gain on the HU? sick car btw I have the same one but in red
Andrew Yoon thanks man! It’s easy. On the headunit there should be a speaker level menu. I set mine to -10 on all 4 channels and it sounds like oem now
cool cool! what did you do with the left over harnesses that didnt have a slot in your after market HU?
Andrew Yoon I just tucked them to the side for now. I might have some future stuff planned for that
Do u think this type of switch bypass could be done to the 2015 si witch already come factory with touch screen?
guayaco19 it’s a possibility. It all depends on how it detects movement. If it just goes by the e-brake you should theoretically be able to do it
I think you mentioned you need a special harness to keep the imid working? What was it called?
Gabe P. Sorry for the late reply. There’s no harness necessary for imid controls. Just the volume controls on the left of the wheel
hey bro, what about your back up camera... does it still work with the aftermarket head unit ?
Yeah man. Since the camera is on the tiny imid display it’s separate from the head unit. So as soon as you throw it in R it pops right up
Mugetsu_Si thank you.
Thanks for the video. Don't like the dash kit either need that carbon fiber back
for sure man lol
U can try wrapping it with those carbon fiber vinyl wraps ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What dash kit ?

you don't have to buy anything extra. I have a feeling you probably just have to check the radio wiring harness and make sure the blue remote wire is hooked up to the factory one so the factory amp can turn on
Midori Wrx you don't know what color i have to connect from my car so i can turn on the amplifier
Kitty Cat I wouldn’t but from the harness to the aftermarket radio both wires should be blue or blue with a white stripe.
Midori Wrx you don't have any video because I tried to do what you told me but the aplificador has no signal
did you end up getting a better kit?

It should be the same exact process as long as you have the right wiring harness and dash kit.
