Cinemassacre jp2 and jp3 are good. Even if they aren't best than jp1. But jp2 is the best sequel. And I both love them. Also the spinosaurus is bigger than the trex so why are you Shocked? And both movies have great moments even if jp2 is the best sequel.

Both movies would have been substantially improved if they had a final boss fight against a guy in a TRex costume holding Dennis Nedry's mace
Forget the mace. A T-rex armed with duel Duke controllers is way more terrifying.

The mention of Lost World toys got me thinking: It's weird how many R rated movies back in the day had toy lines. Aliens, Predator, Robocop, Rambo, Terminator. Everything kids weren't supposed to watch (wink wink) had toys directed at them
But their design and character are memorable to the point that if a kid did or didn’t watch these films they still want a toy of it

I remember leaving Jurassic Park III mad about how bad it was. I saw The Lost World several times in the theater. That should tell you my vote.

I really enjoyed this one, and James only getting a few peeps in was actually pretty funny to me. I wish he got to give his whole piece at the end though, like really expand on his thoughts toward Lost World; I get not having much to say about the third, I'd be in the same predicament...

The reason why The Lost World is a better movie is because, even with its flaws, it is still directed by one of the greatest directors of all time. Spielberg can create thrilling and awe inspiring scenes like no one else. The Trailer scene is so well paced and shot, that even though you don’t care that much about the people, it is still super tense.
Their arguing is starting to get on my nerves.

I was so glad to see that poll come up in this video. I’m even more glad that the lost world won
I remember sitting in a movie theater and watching the trailers before the movie started. At that time, at that age I didn't know they where making a sequel to jurassic park until I sat there. I wish that would happen today instead of us knowing the next spiderman is coming in the summer of 2021. No matter the quality of the movie, the excitement was legit.

@moon dawg Being memorable does not make a movie automatically better than a forgettable movie. The Lost World is memorable to me because it had some ridiculous scenes, like a Tyrannosaurus Rex abandoning its offspring in order to pursue humans who are already running away. Watching a not-so-memorable movie again can be a better experience than watching a memorable one.

JP2 is the better film overall due to Steven Spielberg returning as director & the plot is stronger than JP3 but where JP3 shines is the fact that Sam Neil returns as Dr Alan Grant (the hero from JP1), nothing against Jeff Goldblum's Ian Malcolm who's a great character in his own right but Ian is not a strong enough character to carry an entire film as the central protagonist & is better suited as a supporting character just as he was in JP1. JP2 badly missed Grant :(
JP3 might not have Spielberg & it's plot might not be as great as JP2 but JP3 is still a fun exciting-enough adventure in its own right.
JP2 has Steven Spielberg but no Dr Alan Grant and JP3 has Grant but no Spielberg. Both films each lack a key ingredient that was instrumental in the massive success of JP1 but both are still solid fun sequels with plenty of thrills & dinosaurs.

I cared about the characters in Jurassic Park II....hated the characters in Jurassic Park III. Wanted heroes to survive in Jurassic Park II....wanted all the heroes to get eaten in Jurassic Park III(except Alan).

JP3 is more entertaining to me, as soon as they land in the island the movie is non stop to the end. Cooper gets eaten, plane crash, spinosaurous vs T Rex, raptors, birdcage scene, boat spinosaurous scene. The whole movie is great entertainment.

I LOVED the toys from JP2. My buddy had probably every one they made and i remember one summer spending the entire day making our own Jurassic Park with all the toys. Including cutting pine tree branches and putting them in the enclosures to look like trees.
I like Jurassic park 3 for two reasons:
1.The Spinosaurus
2.Alan Grant is back
That’s it.
It was at least faster paced than Lost World.
It took waaaaaayyy too long to get going.

@@yittmashups That's actually what more recent studies have shown. The feathers wouldn't have been as likely to become fossils, but a very small number of them did. But on top of that, a few of them have the prerequisites to feathers such as Tianyulong which has quills which feathers are an ancestor of (they needed the stem in the center to splinter off of). If you look at the fossils yourself, it's kinda hard to tell on anything other than the small creatures that had large fully formed feathers already as they leave a shadowy impression.
The Lost World had goddamn Pete Postlethwaite, therefor it automatically wins.
And he had that awesome 500 nitro Express I've told people he could kill a dinosaur with that double rifle but many people think it's a dumb 12 gauge double barrel

I didnt think any of them were terrible, although I didn't like seeing the death of the original Brachiosaurus. Was waiting for Vince Vaughn to parasail in and save it..😥
It would have been, if her character wasn't flushed down the drain. I'm not sure what's more disappointing: her in JP3 or Goldblum in JW2. Complete waste. What was even the point? Glorified cameos, that managed to make their character worse with what little they were in them.

I feel like Tony is almost playing a bit where he has to pretend to be the guy that liked JPIII. Lost World, for all of its faults, was still a coherent and entertaining ride. JPIII was complete garbage all the way through.

Dude wtf Kieran lol. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Lost World was a pretty good show actually. It doesn't have zip to do with Jurassic Park obviously but it was certainly better than a lot of other fantasy shows of the 90s. Like in the top 10 at least. More people need to check it out.

As a kid I always loved JP3 the most out of the franchise although now its easier to see that its not actually a good movie. Its still nostalgic to watch and all that but now I would def put Lost World above it. I also understand how some people may even like Lost World more than the original but for me it goes 1,2,3. None of the Jurassic World movies have been good yet IMO though. Maybe its just the fact of nostalgia or the fact they have become action movies instead of thrillers but its whatever.

Lost World has some of the best set pieces out of the entire series. Can't say the same for 3.

3 has actually grown on me. I've come to appreciate it for its shock value, style, and return to its "slasher," roots. Resurrection is still an utter disappointment. Suoer cheesy, felt like it was tacked on to the series, and had such good potential to be "Aliens 2." Fuck that movie man.
Honestly, I love all of the Jurassic movies. It is THAT franchise for me. It is the franchise that I have seen absolutely each and every entry of the series in the theaters.

Also, I hate the characters in The Lost World, but I can't even remember Jurassic Park III to know what I hate.
Lost World had some of the best moments and concepts of the whole series. The T-Rex hunter, A kid getting eaten by Compys, The RV sequence and the awesome shot of raptors hunting through the tall grass. It also has the terrible gym scene though...
i really liked the Ian Malcolm role. jeff goldblum is awesome. Sam Neil is great too.
I think they both have their Merits...
The Lost World is awesome IMO, it has a cool King Kong feel to it and the Cast and Direction are stellar...
JP3 is Lean and Mean, the Perfect Saturday Morning/Night Movie, gets straight to the point....
Also, both have Dinosaurs, A+

No one can honestly say that Jurassic Park 3 was better than Lost World. Lost World is not perfect but man... JP3.. Every human caracter except poor Alan Grant is so hateable. That damn lady that couldn't stop shouting.. The SATELLITE PHONE inside the Spinosaurus... INSIDE. It's worse than Terminator 3 even.

I'd easily take Lost World over Jurasic Park III, and for one simple reason: it doesn't have fucking Tea Leone. If she wasn't in the movie, I'd love JP3 way more because it brought back Dr. Grant. But her character absolutely ruined the movie for me. Lost World also wins for the T-Rex in San Diego, and the Arnold in King Lear standup in Blockbuster
Lost World is way better than JP III. Case closed.
