- In this video I am showing you how I replaced the front right window regulator. If your window stops going up or down and you can hear the motor running this video is for you.

This video is excellent. My son and I are going to tackle this on Monday for my elderly neighbor. She has had all 4 windows go out with the same yr. as the one you just did. I homeschool my son, we just changed a starter out of a 2005 Camry last week. I did my husbands drivers side window in his 2009 Impala. Saving lots of money. I watched another video they guy took the door handle off but I think we’ll do exactly what you did. Thanks for bringing the camera in so we can see what you’re doing, it makes a difference.

Thanks a million for the video! It gave me the courage to try this project myself. Just two points to clarify where I had some difficulty: 1 - install and tighten the bolt on the metal window bracket before you install the panel, and 2 - start with the window fully up when guiding it down onto the plastic connecting bracket; make sure it's still seated as you lower it. One more thing: be patient when sliding the white plastic rectangular piece onto the new door panel. Again, thanks a million, Dave -- your help made this easy! And the crash sensor wasn't as scary as I thought! Hyundai would've charged me at least $700.

I was stressed then I read one of the comments about the locking screw that attaches the window to the regulator. You have to lower the brace that holds the window until it shows in the two holes about two thirds down. once the screws show you are able to place the window in the braces and lock them with a socket wrench and then test. I also had a BSD error and my button on my door doesn't work, so now I have to figure that out. The BSD I read said it needs to be calibrated, hope that doesn't cost the $900.00 I saved! Thanks!
Thanks so much for this video! So glad you talked about the crash sensor. Took the inside panel off of my 90 year old auntie’s car yesterday...ground plastic everywhere. Going to try to find the regulator aftermarket. She said the dealer charged $400 to fix the drivers door. She’s been waiting for the passenger regulator for 2 months. Fingers crossed.
I couldn't find an aftermarket one anywhere when I did them. They maybe available now I'm not sure

Very helpful thanks. Should mention upfront to disconnect the battery for safety purposes. Also, I didn't totally separate the harness from the vehicle. I just relaxed the harness by pulling the grommet up front and then reached behind the panel at the rear and disconnected the connection there, pulled the lock cables through like you did, then removed the one clip in the rear back of the panel. Now I don't have to pull the electrical harness through the front of the door.

I have a drivers side window that won’t go up or down by power. The regulator is ok not stripped and can move up and down. Put a new switch and motor but still nothing. Where should I look at next?
Also the fuses are good

Thanks to your video, Hot Rod, I was able to accomplish this today on our 16 Tucson driver's window (and this was the third one that broke). Took about 4.5 hours but I was moving slow on purpose. Hate leftover bolts, dangling cables and gaps. Ops checked it before putting the panel back on and the window worked without a hitch! Double checked all my screws, tightened a few down a tad more, plugged everything back in, put the panel back on -- and the window worked, BUT it stops about half way up. Press the up button again and it goes up the rest of the way. Goes down without a problem. Any thoughts as to what I might have done wrong?
If my window is able to roll down fine but not roll up. When you try to roll up it makes that humming noise. Would that be a window regulator problem as well you think?

I order the window regulator, and as soon as I got to the step to remove the motor. I looked at it and knew right away, the gear on the motor was what was chewed up causing the window to only be able to go down but not up. Nonetheless I swapped the whole regulator out and ended up putting the motor from the back right window on the front right and it is operable again. I order a new motor for the back left window to replace the broken one. Thanks for the steps and video, made it very easy.
You don’t need to disconnect the wire harness. I took mine off with the wire harness connected.

2016 Tucson drivers side window dropped down, wont come up.
any suggestion on how to pick up window so I can drive it until I get to repair? I see you held did up with suction cups,i only have grey tape, but not sure how to get window up with panel still on? thanks for any suggestions.

If you can't grab the glass you will need to take the panel off and slide it up.

Do you have to get the window motor plus the whole door inset replaced? Or could I just replace the motor with the three screws?

Question - What if there is no noise and it just wont go up or down - Could this simply be the motor and NOT the regulator or both?
Someone looked at ours and explained it was the motor but I have called around to get estimates to fix and now they are saying it is the regulator.
I would rather save myself money and do them myself but not sure if it is going to be one or the other or both. Looking for your guidance, THANK YOU in advance :)
Sounds like a motor but you should probably take the door panel off for inspection and test for voltage up and down at the switch and the motor. Sometimes the only way to buy it is with the motor already on the regulator.

Maybe but I didn't have that option at the time I repaired it
@@HotRodDave ok, thx.after market regulators are pretty affordable as well. About $70-80. Hyundai should have a recall, I've been in contact with corporate office and have an active case, pain in the butt fighting it though.

I have the same problem in all 4 windows. Should I just change the sprocket spools or it should be the entire panel?
I'm my case it was the entire panel. You will have to determine what parts you need. When I made this video the parts were not available separately. Rewinding cables is not an easy task from previous experience with other models of cable driven regulators.
I heard a loud pop noise when I rolled my window down. I thought something hit my car and didn’t realize the pop came from my passenger window after it wasn’t rolling up. It sounds like it’s trying to roll the window up but it isn’t. I hear like a plastic wrapper crunching when I try rolling the window up. When I push the button down, it’s a weird deeper noise than a plastic wrapper like something is stuck or caught. What does this mean?
I'm sorry but it sounds like destruction from your description
Could you try to JB Weld the window motor gear and window handler sprocket together?

I wish I could help but I made that video a while back and don't remember the parts details. If you call a dealer the parts department will give you the part number you need for your repair.

Both drivers side and passenger side, front windows stop working all of a sudden. Would that be the same issue?
@@efyoga you need to test. Is the window motor running when you operate the window switch?
@@HotRodDave yes the motor is running on both but windows stop moving up/down. Also I noticed when the vehicle is off, I can still pull the window up and down with my hand.
@efyoga sounds like the regulator is your problem. I have 2 videos one for the front and one for the rear

I own a Tucson none of my windows roll down motors work I replaced all the regulators six months ago ... And my back doors are completely locked and I can't access unless pry the covers most likely to break. Another replacement cost ... All in the first year of owning it 😢😢😢

I had to replace all 4 of mine at 70 00 miles
I'm 65 years old and the last time I replaced a windob regulater was on a 1972 Caprice with close to 300,000 miles on it. These cars are junk. I just had to relax e my second clutch pack at 80,000 miles.

Tool Truck Probable 25 years ago. You can probable find them on line pretty easy. They are handy.

I didn't see a part for it but that is what tears up.
That would be nice! I played around with mine but couldn't figure out how to wind the cables.
@@robertcnfg I have tried winding cables on regulators before with no luck. Some of the older Chrysler regulators were about the same and the motors would go bad. If you didn't hold the cable spool it would unwind while swapping motors and then you were screwed.
They could have missed that bolt during assembly.

These cars are absolute garbage. We have less than 25k miles and the ac went out, the door locks quit working, and now the windows are failing. I regret buying the Suckton

You need to test for power at the motor and see if it it has voltage on command when you operate the switch. If it has power the motor is bad if it doesn't you have a power distribution problem and will need to start testing from the window motor back. I have seen harnesses break at the door jam where they flex between the body and the door. A power probe is a wonderful tool that will let you test for power and ground and you can also apply power to the motor to see if it works.

@@MrGuitarfool That was not my car s I don't have it handy to make a video on it. You can take a simple volt meter and test for voltage at the motor while operating the switch. I use a tool called a power probe. It let's you test for power and ground fast and also let's you apply voltage and ground to the circuits if needed.
