4l80 TIME FOR THE 77 TRANS AM LS3 SWAP PROJECT
I ran into the same problem too. I put a jack under the frame and one under the strut & lifting on that & moving the arm around finally provided enough clearance but truthfully almost gave up & went with just a ball joint replacement. Never had an issue on the driver side…
I have the same car. The fan burned out and cut the radiator. The replacement had a different bottom. I swapped the old one onto the new radiator. I just used a screw driver and a channel locks to open and then close the crimps. The O ring is definitely replaceable. There's a black gasket maker rated for heat that could have fixed the problem on this one in the video.as long as the aluminum is cramped back nice and tight, you will be cool.
You got nice teeth
Thank you for the informative video. I have a question regarding an issue I have been running into recently. I am losing coolant from the expansion tank, which requires me to refill the coolant. The tank is always full. I had the thermostat replaced recently. What could be causing this? Thank you in advance.
I have ran into this a few times and several times it was due to the heater core clogging up. It can make it over heat a little and cause air pockets to form. I would make sure the water pump is working also. If over heated bad enough it can warp or crack a block or head and or blow a head gasket. I would start by performing a chem coolant flush. I would flush the whole system forward and backward. Make sure it does not have air trapped in the system after the flush. These engines run a little hotter than most engines I have dealt with in my shop so anything that is off just a little will cause it to overheat. Don't forget to check the coolant fan operation.
Thank u for that information, because I have that same vehicle in 2016 , and all wanted to know about the transmission fluid. Thank u appreciate it..
My oil pressure gauge dropped to low today and the truck started to drive bad. Bogging down. I checked the oil and I have oil. The sensor shouldn’t do that from what I’ve seen so what would be the problem??
@SweetLifeOf_Cody not sure without testing
Im having this issue on an 03 Silverado but im not leaking oil. Its just the switch right? Because my truck is still running just fine. Been like this for two days
@@joshedwards1063 probably. I would replace it before it starts leaking
You have all the tools you need to do the project. 👍🏼
I start mine and stays on read then ill shut it off and start it agian then gauge reads normal is this a sensor No engine issues and there is plenty of oil
Probably
I wish my garage was 40 degrees.
I can’t get the charcoal out of the metal line from the front of the tank to the top of the engine. Everything else is clear. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
@ispeakchevy4632 you could try a can of brake cleaner followed by compressed air. I ended up with it in my gas tank and it clogged up my fuel pump. I have a video on that as well under the Playlist for Suburban
My case is when i first start my 04 dodge 5.7 the check guage light is on and the oil pressure guage stayed low. Then so i turned it off and restarted it and went normal. I don’t see it fluctuate while driving. Just stays Low when first starts for the day. Is that mean switch is going bad?
@tengzturiagaiii3185 it's hard to say without testing. If it were me and I didn't have the gauge to test it, I would just replace it and check the connector for oil and see what happens.
@ yeah. But luckily i have the guage. It does goes to the normal reading once i start driving. Only Sometime when i first started it. It stays down. But i kind of figure something out. Before i start it. When you turn the key on position.. it goes and when started it goes up to it normal operatong reading
@tengzturiagaiii3185 I was referring to a Guage to test at the port that the sending unit screws into .
@ oh i see.. but the normal reading on the oil guage is just a little pass the center line right? Mine doesn’t fluctuate while idling and driving.
@ i see, ok mow the dash oil guage from normal it dropped while idling. When i revved it it went up then down. That means the sending unit is bad now right. Engine still idling normal tho
Nice! I can't wait till my Tahoe takes gas like that!
I removed my coil spring/strut and that was my best way since I don’t have a lift. It’s 3 bolts up top and 2 down low. Hope This helps someone I was scratching my head for a while until I realize in another Video you don’t have to take anything else out for upper control arm replacement even if you have to take the strut out. Once upper control arm is gone the strut can be removed in about 5 minutes or less with a 18mm ratchet wrench
Just bought a 2013 jeep wrangler, Sahara unlimited and it has coolant running back into the cab soaking ALL floors but doesn’t overheat? I’ve never owned a jeep so any help is appreciated thank you 0:59
@@staceymiller4765 sounds like the heater core is leaking
My thoughts exactly but hopefully it’s a cracked hose. lol. Fixing to find out in the am
Mine had white smoke coming out of coolant from filler while filling up with new coolant after replacing thermostat any guess if that could be my water pump?
@@paperroute4031 steam?
Mine whenever i stop it drops, but bump the gas it goes up, then back to nothing. Must be my issue. I have 05 hemi 5.7.
Try the sending unit if it doesn't take care of it run a manual gauge and get a reading that way.
🤔I have an 03 2500 diesel that goes from 50 to 0 driving down the road, but when I restart after stopping it comes back to 50. Is that the sending unit also?
Could be. try it and see. If it doesn't take care of it then run a manual gauge test.
Is fragola stuff any good? I need -3 for brake lines.
just make sure you run the same brand fittings and hose
@ ahhh yes good idea. Thanks.
So I know this is an older video. I have a question I haven't been able to find an answer to. I have been trying to find the same rims and tires and order them like you. Did you know already put together but no luck. Can't seem to find the combo ready to go anywhere.
@jackiecurl6171 you maybe able t9 call jegs or summit racing and ask if they will mount and balance the wheel and tire for you if you order them from them. I just had my buddy tire store mount them
Thank you, great video, helped solve our problem.
@@johnandeddie thanks for watching and the comment
Hi and thanks for this very detailed video. I have an 05 Chevy Silverado LS 1500 5.3. I've had to replace the oil pressure switch twice within a years time. Both times were an OEM GM/AC DELCO part. Could you please help me on why they go bad so fast, am I doing something wrong? Also the OEM doesn't come with a filter. Peace from NC.
@verinb9 Thanks for watching and the feedback. I can't remember a time that that has happened to me. I wish I had an answer for you but I just haven't had that problem. If you have really dirty oil or sludge building up with no screen at the sensor I could see that happen.
I have to wonder whether you gouged the inside of the knuckle tunnel with the air hammer. By the way, the extra bolt hole in the tone ring is so that it can fit multiple hubs.
@artfisher1235 I don't remember much about that job. I think i did it 4 years ago and don't really care to go back and watch it. Thanks for watching and the feedback 😀
Hey, saw your video. I have a 2006 Chevy Tahoe Joe Gibbs edition I got the Hydro boost two but my brakes are going through the floor. My traction control light is on and my brake light is on. Do you have any clue what that might be
@1969camaro you maybe having a master cylinder fail .
@ is that the one that the brake fluid goes into because I noticed I have no leaks, but my brakes just go to the floor
@@1969camaro Yes
I have the same dryer with the same issue it’s happen twice now but this time all 3 broke off, GE honoring the warranty They just sent us a check to replace the dryer altogether literally this week
@jayilla28 ours has broke 2 now
Mine just broke two weeks ago. Didn't get the extended warranty. This vid is a lifesaver
@@crissford8670 i would go ahead and buy 3 because it's gonna do it again
You gave me all the correct info that i needed to find the filter in the correct location. nobody else had it. thx man
@@allanelmore9714 Thanks for watching
So you don't have to open the brake fluid reservoir to do this job?
Dave , On the pulley tensioner , Are you using the bolt that holds the tensioner to move it down ? did you have to use a bar on the end of the wrench to pry it down ?At 26:12 where you stopped the video did you take the alternator back out and put the bolt in the alternator hole and then put the alternator back in the car and start the video again leaving out the part where you took it back out of the car to put the bolt in ?
No I just moved it over some to get the bolt in. The belt tensioner was done with a wrench on the pulley bolt. No pry bar just my hand
Dave, I realize that this is and older post but I’m curious to know if the oil pan on the LS3 crate is the equipped GM pan or was it swapped with a Holley pan. Everything I read says that I will have to replace the crate oil pan with a Holley. Please advise
I did not change the pan on the GM Crate Ls3. It is the hot rod crate engine not a regular ls3 replacement engine.
I'm having pil pressure check engine light, mechanic replaced sensor but check engine light still coming on.. is switch different than sensor?? What else could it be?
@jasonstammer3377 what code is it getting for check engine light? Oil pressure sensor and switch is the same thing.
Thank you! From diagnosis to repair, this 44 yr old women did it- thanks to your detail. These POS’ Tucson aren’t worth any other route. Truly appreciate this vid.
@e1a1k1 Very cool! Thanks for watching and the feedback.
This is the video I needed. Thank you.
Thanks, good video
@@johnandeddie Thank you
lol. Half the video is of this guys entire ass.
Is it safe to drive until you can fix it
You need to figure out if it is the sensor or an oil pressure problem first.
where are you located. would you consider doing again on my SL?
I am not interested but thanks for asking. I am not able to take in customer cars at this time.
Can u tell me how many quarts does it actually takes when change transmission fluid ty
@@mickymarir5069 i don't remember how many I pulled out of that one. That's why I measure it. It probably shows it in the video.
This same shit happened to me just the other day.😑 All this headache for a fucking battery hold down.
@mozes42 I know right
The zip tie on your radiator hose...what does it do
It holds the protective sleeve on. That's how it came from the factory
I put my jeep on ramps while burping it to raise the radiator cap higher. Works great with the funle system.
@jeffmeyers9866 that is a good idea
How do you fix it when you didn’t know you had to put it in the service mode
@@TerryCrackel i don't know. I have not done that.
What is the part number? I have the same problem.
Just remove the tire and do the work It’s very very easy
hello , can you please let me know where do i measure from to find that i will be at 80 thousand. (From) ROBERT IN HOUSTON TEXAS.

Got question dave got 01 ram reg cab got oil problem can u help
@@chadbartley2063 depends on what kind of help you need. You can most definitely ask me a question.
When I change my oil I also remove the fluids from the radiator, use a small diameter hose and feed it down to the bottom of the radiator, and brake reservoir. Then fill with fresh fluids. Just don't accidentally mix OAT with HOAT. Made that mistake after replacing the valve rockers...oopsie
