Hey found your channel on my recommended feed. First of all I want to say you definitely deserve my sub so +1 sub for you
Secondly, I think a lot of the tracks you didn't like were time-sensitive. They had an expiration date and you'd have to have a very specific experience growing up or being in the era it was released to appreciate them. Like White America for example, I remember the subject matter clear as day. I'm assuming you're a younger guy, correct me if that assumption is wrong at all, but my memories of that time period help me really appreciate that track for what it is. Of course, that's separate from the matter of "is it a good song", so you're not necessarily wrong in your assessment either.
Third, I will say I do agree with your grading here; the album is hit OR miss, it really doesn't have any inbetweens. It's often one of his most accredited early albums but this album really isn't in the same league as even the Marshall Mathers LP
Thanks for the sub, also songs being "time sensitive" is something that I'll take into consideration in future reviews, I guess not experiencing these albums fully when they first dropped can determine someone's perspective of it.
Really appreciate the feedback tho, still haven't gotten a chance to listen to his most recent project, but I'll get to it soon
@@headboyreviews4334 I enjoyed the recent album but I definitely think it's an album geared towards longtime fans. It's a lot of meta-commentary about his career and the persona he's most known for, and how that often conflicts with Marshall the person. There are some standalone tracks like Tobey, but I like his pensive material better on this album
No worries, time-sensitive entertainment is easy to miss especially when people don't usually mention it. For example, Most of the punchlines on the Slim Shady LP would be something that someone born after 2000 would have NO IDEA about (Sonny Bono dying in a skiing accident being one frequent reference on that album) and thus it just wouldn't land. But no one ever really brings this point up when they discuss Eminem's body of work, so it's easy to miss
