I will say, the song makes more of an impacts when listened to within the context of the album. The next song, HEAVEN ALL AROUND ME, is from Walter’s perspective going to heaven, and it ties everything together in a heartbreaking way. Great reaction guys!
I literally cried tears one time listening to that song and it wasn't the first time I've heard it. Shows thats such a great song by an amazing song.

The whole album tells a story about how Saba and Walt became best friends and once they were about to take off, Walt was stabbed and killed. Saba then felt a sense of survivors guilt once he blew up and he felt as if Walt should have been there with him. And songs from the album such as heaven all around me, and BUSY/SIRENS are about Saba’s mental state after losing his best friend

The end was talking about his cousin Walter s death. He was basically Saba s best friend and a huge impact on his life. He wasn't close with that side of the family aside from Walter before prom so that was his aunt (Walters mom) calling because she hadn't heard from him for a while and was worried. Saba found out later that Walter was murdered.

I can totally see your guy's confusion with the lack of context. Loads of people were recommending this because technically it's sabas best and most impressive track. (Many peoples best track of 2018 including myself) However what I find so fascinating about his music is the versatility, and therefore prom/king might not be the best introduction to his music. I recommend listening to all of CARE FOR ME. It's a massive rollercoaster of greif and emotional development and is definitely worth the time. It personally helped me through some dead ass tough shit. For examples of his versatility I would listen to the track LIFE, stoney or HEAVEN ALL AROUND ME(which btw is an incredible follow up to prom king) sidenote: check out some of smino's shit - netflix & Dusse or Anita (he's cool with noname and Saba but his music is a fuck load more light-hearted :)
