It's both amazing and sad. First time i watched you guys, i asked for this song to be reviewed. Today you did it, and well you know the rest. Amazing reaction on an amazing track!
It's crazy how some don't have him as one of the best. The production, the flow, the lyrisism, everything is just perfect. Mos def is definitely top 3 for me
So good. I remember being a teenager and fizzing out with my mates listening to this. We thought we had stumbled upon gold. I'll never forget the feelings we had when we celebrated this music

holy shit ya'll. mos/yasiin/black dante is my favourite mc of all fucking time, mad respect for checking him out. would be dope if you listened to some more of him
@@nomasmedia2053 well, think about it. This song came out in 2000, most likely made in 99. This is 2019 now. Everything he said on this song came to pass, and then some. It's pretty depressing...
The scratches add effect to the message of the song; like "it's simple mathematics" or "do your math" to further emphasize the despair of the facts. Also, this is what DJ premier is known for. Good effort though gents.
"Black On Both Sides" By Yasiin Bey(Mos Def) Is Hands Down In My Top Three Favorite Albums Of All Time.... Mos def is one of the all time greats! Check out respiration by blackstar (mos def and Talib kweli) featuring common. One of the best hip hop songs ever

I just wanna tell you guys, after all these years up skipping this song for whatever reason I finally listened to this shit. This shit is bars. Shit is a lyrical masterpiece.
Man, seeing Mos makes me think you guys should do a couple songs from his old Black Star partner, Talib Kweli. "Get By" is fucking amazing. So is "I Try."
This was released on The Lyricists Lounge album, and I was not really a fan at first; but as I get older I enjoy the lyrics and ideas more and more. I still have the original CD and sleeve 👍

The producer, dj premier is a giant of the genre. The hooks of the songs are always scratched like that
Arguably in the top 3 hip hop producers of all time
