Would love to see more 4 way stairs. I use the 3 floor and 4 floor stairs on most of my builds but i wish there were 4 way versions so i can place in a central area on my ship
I haven't had any problems attaching the weapons to the battlestations on Xbox. I just attempt to set the weapon through the hab and into it's position inside the hab. It disappears as I get it close and I set it down. So far it has worked every time and I've tried out full slots of the strongest of each type of Matilijas animated weapons just because they are cool. I actually use the particle beam and it shreds. It is badass to go inside my ship to look at these guns in a real battlestation, then fly into space to watch them deploy as my cargo is secured. My Derretech wings also deploy on this monstrosity.
Im not sure which one, but either darkstar or the m class ship parts v2 mod changes the collisions threshold. Still a great video, for helping out. I had zero problem installing these on xbox, but it was due to one of those mods, i really think it was the m class mod
It was the M-Class V2 mod that changes the tolerance of the ship builder (Done via Script) not Darkstar's mod that one did not change any of the tolerance of the modules connection points.

I'm experiencing issues merging or clipping parts with cargo holds & cps500 cockpit. Giving 30 days to contact and resolve before I'll test and report all mods conflicts on daily basis until removed. I don't play baseball game or even story until everything unlocked and maxed out
I'm also having trouble with the shielding for the cockpit windows not snapping. Also, Entrance to reactor is blocked no matter how I flip it for aft entry. (Note: Reactor is connected to rear of stair well and front of engineering hab.)
Its alot easier to do now (or always been, no idea, recently started again). Just 'G' at a random spot away from the ship, put down the battle-chairs, then just hit G again while highlighting the chairs, choose the hub and it works.

Also, just a note, I was told that if you download the M-Class V2 mod, it has a script that basically solves the tolerance issues, not my ideal solution to recommend another mod to fix a bug in mine, but at least it could be used a temporary solution until I actually solve it for myself.
I love the shield boosters, but I have 1 fav to ask you could you optimize theses for FPS, because they're fps killer's on capital ship builds and love using your structure pieces and now I love theses shield boosters too
Unfortunately, their's not a lot I can do to optimize them, most of their performance hit comes from the "wobbling" animation, which is actually just an explosion distortion effect on them.
Well, there are two different types of shield boosters, the smaller one that consumes power connects to equipment connection points just like weapons, the larger one, which is setup to work similar to a structural brace can connect between any normal connection points just like the structural pieces and habs.
I'll need to look into that, I'm not sure why you would be having trouble with those, I can't recall anyone else reporting problems with them and they haven't been changed since I first released them.
@matilija it's something I had been meaning to make a report of for a long a time and had forgotten. I can however connect them to the Deimos support beam thingy. It's temperamental to connect them too each other but do able. Perhaps I could make a full video of all the connect problems I'm currently experiencing and send you a link?
Hey so i just noticed that you can even put these weapons inside of the habs i was just using the habs i can line up the weapons inside the hab with the blocks fine but the weapons are pointing towards the back.. should i just follow this video method or am i just doing something wrong? On Xbox
Great mod. This answered my question posted on your other vid. Hope you do some 2x2x2 with stairs. Love the 3x3x2. Hate the door in the 1x1x3 can't leave them open which bothers me more then ladders but the room stairs are perfect.

Well this was helpful thank you unfortunately I don't have a use for these weapons just yet seeing as I don't have any space on my Pillar of Autumn... but maybe I'll stumble across a ship design that I like on RUclips and I'll try to recreate it and modify it from my own use using some of your components. Your mod is definitely my favorite ship building mod and I constantly check my mods to see if there's any new updates hoping there's more content from you.
What do you mean you can't connect things like it? It's basically just a redecorated and colored stroud 2x2 hab, it uses a vanilla template for connections. Are you on xbox? Have you updated to version 1.05 on xbox?
I recommend you put the weapon you want and just leave it out floating, then move the battle station over it until it snaps(the weapon will be red) but then just flip the battle station from port to stbd and hit the back button, or flip a second time and hit the back button to keep it locked in place, once the weapon is attached you can grab the battle station and move it as you see fit and the weapon will stay attached to it.
These hate me lol been at it for 30 min any tips to make the habs snap together when they don't want to? Update I have completely broken my ship the stairs don't acess all the doors and I cant get to my cockpit 😅😅 tried replacing stairs with companionway and now I csnt even get into ship haha
Besides the default ship builder overlap tolerance being ridiculously small, no, but the mod is designed on PC to work on PC, and shared for the xbox community. If you want an easier time with getting these connected on xbox, I'd recommend you download and install the mod M-Class V2 because it has a script in it that increases the overlap tolerance in the ship builder on console.
Am I the only one who's weapons platforms keep mounting backwards? The missiles will be facing forward till they click in place and boom they face the back of the ship. Doesn't matter the battlestation port, starboard, or aft. Playing on xbox.
You aren't the only person to report this, I'm currently working on updating all of my modules, when i'm done, I'll look into it, I don't currently have any issues on my end, but that doesn't mean there isn't something broken somewhere.

Ship weapons are all leveled, so yes, the habs and structural parts are all available pretty much right away, but the reactors, shields, grav drives, weapons, cockpits and some of the equipment items do have level requirements.

It's in there, but it requires level 95, and right now it has issues connecting on xbox, but that will be fixed when i release my update which should be out by Sunday, though that may get delayed as I need to look into getting a new car, so need to make time to do some car shopping tomorrow because my existing car caught fire this morning and it's too old to really justify putting any money into it.

There are a lot of weapons in my mod, some have blue parts, some have purple parts, but they all use vanilla textures, so if they are purple in game, that is the color they are supposed to be.
The weapon im talking about is rail something, it used to be a b class only, but i just realized there’s a class version plus another weapon i didnt see the first time I downloaded your mod
Probably my class C rail cannon, and there are parts, that if you look at it in one direction it will be purple, but if you face it from the other direction they will be blue, that is intentional, I wanted it to seem a bit sureal.

This method doesn't work anymore because BGS "Fixed" the flip glitch, but on PC it's really easy, simply open your StarfieldCustom.ini file and add these lines to it, and everything snaps easy peezy lemon squeezy. [Spaceship] fShipBuilderModuleOverlapTolerance=-2.0 The file should be located in your documents/my games/starfield folder, if it's not, simply create a new text document, open the new text document, add those lines, then save and close it and right click and rename it to StarfieldCustom.ini and when it asks if you want to change the extension, click yes. Now you can overlap a good bit on any part without it turning red, and all snaps just pretty much work.
@matilija I keep having to update mods. Not new versions or anything they are just not staying updated. When it says to use current load order or a save it should be current right? It's so confusing

Ok, so pretty much you're just duplicating it and forcing the snap, like you would if you wanted to stack engines. You can skip the RB part when you get closer and just duplicate it
Yeah, unfortunately, BGS in their infinite wisdom messed with the code and made the flip glitch no longer work, because reasons I'm sure, I'm still working on trying to find a resolution that will satisify everyone, I may just simply have to make more versions of both the Battle Stations and the cargo containers with each of the various attachments pre-baked into them and remove the equipment attachment options from the equipment menu. We'll see how things work out this weekend when I dig into it.
Just a few things. The weapons are OP compared to other ship weapons. I am playing on extreme and the weapons your mod adds literally destroy most ships in like 3 hits. Also, the stairs legit break ai. They can't navigate it and refuse to even stand in the stair habs
It's not the stairs, all of my habs have broken navmesh that breaks AI, the security hab appears to work, but NPC's will refuse to leave it if they get into it, I am aware of that, and it is an ongoing quest to figure out why. When I do, I'll fix it, but for now, it's still a work in progress. As for the weapons being OP, if you are only using the high level weapons that are all higher level than any of the vanilla weapons, they will feel OP because yes, they are higher level and scaled that way, but when I start adding custom blueprints in there, and NPC ships start spawning with them, you won't think they are OP any longer. 😈

I couldnt find a setup thats not too powerful and doesnt obliterate any enemy ship before i can destroy the engines. - im also having trouble with the cargo thing, the closed storage works fine but the open with cargo getting on floor level when landed only appears red, i see it clicking with the platform but just doesnt want me to confirm it on xbox Thanks again for the impressive work! The 1x1 c class grav drive was also an amazing idea!
I recommend not using any of my turrets, except for my EM turret if you are trying to disable engines to be able to board ships, my manual fire weapons are fine to use, as you simply don't use them if the enemy's health is a bit low.
Great mods and thanks for the video. Looked like you are using Xbox and there was no lag. For some reason the battle stations make mine lag real bad, very choppy. Any suggestions? It carries over while inside the ship, remove the battle stations and it’s very smooth
I'm on PC, just using an xbox controller, and yeah, I know about the lag with the battle stations, I'm working on optimizing their meshes, they have a ton of poly's, making them hard to render on an older 3xxx series ryzen cpu, but I should have the poly count reduced by a good ~20% by the time I release my next update, which should help lessen the lag at the very least.
@matilija i figured it out. You have to go on the upgrade ship NOT builder and just swap it out there. Sorry for rage but after 45 minutes I wanted to blow myself up irl
It's very similar with cargo lifts, but instead of flipping the container, you flip the lift from one to another before hitting the b button, then just hit RB on the lift that's left there, and then a and it should snap into place.
🤣 Yeah, I'm still working on getting them optimized so they won't cause so much lag on the xbox, my next update which should be within the next 2 weeks should help improve their performance quite a bit.
Ok so i get up to the part where the BS snaps into place and is red, i flip it but when i hit the B button it just cancels what i’ve done and reverts the hab back to its original position when i selected it. Yeah, this is an old video from before BGS "fixed" the flip glitch, on the bright side they are going to bring it back with the next update, but you will have to turn it on the settings, the other option is to add a ship builder tolerance mod.

I was having trouble on pc.. first time it worked no problem the next 2 ships I had this same issue. Man your mod is amazing btw loving it

I cannot get the HWC23 engines to connect to most objects and I need that thrust for cargo

My next update is going to change the stairs to not use doors in the fore/aft sections unless they are connected to a cockpit or bay.

Delete and re-download the mod, that part was fixed in 4.01, I'm guessing you are on 4.0 or eariler?
@matilija I keep having to update mods. Not new versions or anything they are just not staying updated. When it says to use current load order or a save it should be current right? It's so confusing
@matilija they patched the flip merge glitch a little while ago. It's coming back in the next patch apparently
@@slimdarcy9503 I would like if it came back, only because it would make things easier on modders, but I'm still going to work on trying to get the issues solved on my end so as to not need the glitch.

Ok, so pretty much you're just duplicating it and forcing the snap, like you would if you wanted to stack engines. You can skip the RB part when you get closer and just duplicate it
Do you have to do this for every weapon. ? Those battle stations are awful for ship,building

Yeah, unfortunately, BGS in their infinite wisdom messed with the code and made the flip glitch no longer work, because reasons I'm sure, I'm still working on trying to find a resolution that will satisify everyone, I may just simply have to make more versions of both the Battle Stations and the cargo containers with each of the various attachments pre-baked into them and remove the equipment attachment options from the equipment menu. We'll see how things work out this weekend when I dig into it.

Just a few things. The weapons are OP compared to other ship weapons. I am playing on extreme and the weapons your mod adds literally destroy most ships in like 3 hits.
Also, the stairs legit break ai. They can't navigate it and refuse to even stand in the stair habs
It's not the stairs, all of my habs have broken navmesh that breaks AI, the security hab appears to work, but NPC's will refuse to leave it if they get into it, I am aware of that, and it is an ongoing quest to figure out why. When I do, I'll fix it, but for now, it's still a work in progress. As for the weapons being OP, if you are only using the high level weapons that are all higher level than any of the vanilla weapons, they will feel OP because yes, they are higher level and scaled that way, but when I start adding custom blueprints in there, and NPC ships start spawning with them, you won't think they are OP any longer. 😈

I had 2 questions:
- could you do a breakdown of the different weapons? I couldnt find a setup thats not too powerful and doesnt obliterate any enemy ship before i can destroy the engines.
- im also having trouble with the cargo thing, the closed storage works fine but the open with cargo getting on floor level when landed only appears red, i see it clicking with the platform but just doesnt want me to confirm it on xbox

I recommend not using any of my turrets, except for my EM turret if you are trying to disable engines to be able to board ships, my manual fire weapons are fine to use, as you simply don't use them if the enemy's health is a bit low.

Great mods and thanks for the video. Looked like you are using Xbox and there was no lag. For some reason the battle stations make mine lag real bad, very choppy. Any suggestions? It carries over while inside the ship, remove the battle stations and it’s very smooth
I'm on PC, just using an xbox controller, and yeah, I know about the lag with the battle stations, I'm working on optimizing their meshes, they have a ton of poly's, making them hard to render on an older 3xxx series ryzen cpu, but I should have the poly count reduced by a good ~20% by the time I release my next update, which should help lessen the lag at the very least.

How the fuck do i place the SBC Direct Fire Destroyer. It wants to snap on a mount but doesnt fucking fit at all
Do you have an equipment plate in place to snap it to?
@matilija i figured it out. You have to go on the upgrade ship NOT builder and just swap it out there. Sorry for rage but after 45 minutes I wanted to blow myself up irl

It's very similar with cargo lifts, but instead of flipping the container, you flip the lift from one to another before hitting the b button, then just hit RB on the lift that's left there, and then a and it should snap into place.
Oh, so thats what they snap to....Now if I can just attach them before the FPS drop melts my console, thatd be swell.
🤣 Yeah, I'm still working on getting them optimized so they won't cause so much lag on the xbox, my next update which should be within the next 2 weeks should help improve their performance quite a bit.
Ok so i get up to the part where the BS snaps into place and is red, i flip it but when i hit the B button it just cancels what i’ve done and reverts the hab back to its original position when i selected it. Cant get any further than that. It sucks because i REAAALLLYYY wanna try these bad boys out. Wait, its 2024…..what are the man made metal projectile firing weapons pronouns??😂🤣😂
Yeah, this is an old video from before BGS "fixed" the flip glitch, on the bright side they are going to bring it back with the next update, but you will have to turn it on the settings, the other option is to add a ship builder tolerance mod.
